Bras. You wouldn't think there was much to the subject, would you? Put on and wear all day, right? Wrong. There's a LOT more to it than that, and Elisabeth covers it , if you'll pardon the pun, here. Front fastening or back? Regular or longline? Full cup, demi, balconette? See how complicated it's getting, and those aren't the only choices we have to make. What if your "bra" is part of a full-length garment like a corselette or, as they tend to be called nowadays, "body briefer"? And if you're a genetic male who wears a bra, either through choice as a crossdresser or by necessity (hands up who's heard of gynecomastia?), then that's a whole other angle. Fear not, Elisabeth has your back, be it T, racer, sports or any of the other options. Don't be put off by the small size: there's a wealth of info in this compact, yet mighty, tome. I also recommend the prequel. "b

Having worked in the lingerie industry for nearly a decade, I feel that The Bra Zone is a refreshing approach to all topics of bra-wear. The author Elisabeth Dale leaves no stone unturned in sharing how to shop for bras, how to determine your best size(s) and fit, which resources you should use when looking for the right bra for your body type, and so much more for both women AND men from pre-teen to senior citizens. It's not surprising the author is so well-versed in the business of bras & breasts, as she has been at the helm of The Breast Life blog for several years. Not only is Elisabeth Dale a true expert in her field, she's funny to boot! The Bra Zone is relatable, straightforward, funny and informative. It should be required reading for anyone who owns a lingerie boutique (as I did) or who works in the lingerie field. Interestingly, it's the people who don't like bras or women don't wear them that really ought to read this book. The Bra Zone is written by someone who clearly enjoys the innovation of the bra/lingerie industry, and makes compelling arguments about the positive effects it can have on one's life. There are even some common "bra myths" that are debunked, much to my pleasure. The book is small, but mighty. A wonderful resource that even the most seasoned lingerie lover will learn from and enjoy.
I wouldn't have thought I would have any need for a book on my bra search but when my young daughter came to need one, i found myself trying to find a way to size her and get her comfortable and voila Elizabeth Dale's book--which is not only absolutely clear, thorough and funny and a huge help. I'm glad I found it and I'm keeping it around as a really fine reference book that I've already returned to twice so far for myself. Love it!
I read from cover to end page. It was informative and very insightful. I thought it was a creative , well written little book and I easily stuck in my tiny purse. I can't wait to help my little girls pick out "The perfect fit" bra.
Quite educational, beginner friendly and short enough that everyone and anyone could read it. And I would recommend it to everyone, even those that aren't interested in bra, because I believe it would still expand their understanding and their horizon! Thank you Elisabeth 💖
This book is so redundant and the information is something you can get by reading any blog. And, I am sure the art of bra measurement will be better explained in a blog than this book.
A great tool, worth keeping and revisiting. The author definitely did her research. It's got conversion charts, examples to help you understand what the author means, myths, and even a section for men. My favorite part of it was where the author lists several of the most common types of bras, as well as pros and cons you might run into for each one. Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.
