Will this cowboy break this curvy girl's heart once again?
Marriage and Jericho Sanders went together about as well as oil and water. He was footloose and fancy free and he liked it that way. He just couldn’t imagine being shackled to one woman for the rest of his life. So why did the appearance of an old flame—“the one that got away”—make him see those chains in a whole new light?
Curvy girl Abigail Goode had left Heartbreak Ridge after graduation and never looked back. That didn’t mean she’d forgotten the young football hero that had almost broken her heart. She knew that coming home to partner her grandfather in his veterinary practice meant that she’d more than likely run into Jericho, but she’d had years to build up a good defense against his seductive charm. Besides, he had plenty of women to keep him occupied.
But resisting the grown-up Jericho turned out to be harder than she ever imagined, especially when the sexy-as-sin cowboy turned his roguish charm on her once more
The Heartbreak Ridge Series: Nevada's Pride (Out Now) Jericho's Passion (Out Now) Dakota's Dream (July 2016)
Joann and Patricia are a writing team of two best friends who love to write (and read) stories about alpha males and smart, sassy, sometimes curvy, women.
The book focuses on and repeatedly reminds us of the many ways he’s a “player” and that she’s got too many curves. He constantly reminisces about how he uses women for sex. She of course has to deal with his past sexual partners. He’s such a ladies man and yet he uses the same old lines on her and takes her to same restaurant he takes all his dates too? Of course I believe that a man that messed up by his parents deaths is going to be a good loyal husband because he met the perfect chubby girl. He date’s hundreds of beautiful skinny girls but now he’s only attracted to her abundance of curves.
And then out of nowhere she gets kidnapped by a crazy deputy sheriff. What? Why?

This book had a lot of solid writing in it, but sadly fell flat overall. Jerky time shifts and shallow characterization only added to the manufactured drama of a villain thrown in for apparently no reason. Even two authors don't seem to grasp the idea that a romance is supposed to illustrate the evolution of its main characters, and therefore neglected the hero's opportunity to be more introspective about why he has been such a playboy or the heroine's propensity to have poor self-esteem regarding her body type. That the entire novel passed without either character discussing why she left the summer after she graduated without saying goodbye (and his ex-girlfriend's role in that episode) was either the height of laziness or extremely poor plotting. There's a lot of potential here, but it is as yet unrealized.
Loved this book and can hardly wait for Dakota story ! Lots of romance , family values and love , and sexy to boot! Reading books by these authors makes me so glad that I found them I think just by accident . Sorry about that ladies but I now have the privilege of enjoying their stories . This is a fairly quick read and you don't want to put it down … Has a wowser toward the end but no spoilers
A love story like only Joann and Patricia can tell it. Sexy cowboys and the women who love them. Add a bit of damsel in distress saved by said cowboy and you have an absolutely wonderful tale.
I loves these books because Joann Baker uses real plus size women not size 8 or less with "curves". All women deserve love. I loved Jericho's story. It was romantic, sexy and passionate. I can't wait to read Dakota's story!
This is the second book I read from this author and I can't get enough. If you love a good cowboy romance, this will knock your boots right off your feet.
