"DevOps" is such a popular term these days - but what's it actually mean to an Ops person? This high-level book attempts to put DevOps into perspective with real-world examples and descriptions.
Don Jones has written dozens and dozens of books and ebooks on information technology topics, and is perhaps most well-known in that space for his "Month of Lunches" series, published by Manning. Don's recently branched out into topics like business management, instructional design, and self-improvement/motivational, along with launching books in science fiction and fantasy. Don lives in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, is a huge fan of Disney Parks, and loves Figment best of all.
This is probably the best explanation to DevOps from the Ops perspective, what it is and what it is not. If you are trying to understand how you or your organization can get from where you are now to ultimately a DevOps model and philosophy this will help you understand that.
I also think it is a good primer for all levels of an organization within IT (C-suite, directors, managers, and engineers) to understand how each contributes to the success of getting to a DevOps model for your organization.
