I cup her face and make her meet my gaze. The shadows are there. They might always be there, but I know I can put joy on her face. I don't know what happened to get her standing here, but I only need her to know one thing.

Okay, I have a lot to say about this book. A lot. I want to make sure I do this book justice. It deserves a long, thoughtful five-star review.

Nate is a man who loves to eat vulvae and he is excellent at it. He doesn't remember women's names, he calls everyone he 'dates' - and I'm using the term 'date' loosely - 'sugar.' But he meets his match when Robyn seeks him out in revenge for her friend.

^^ Simplest summary I can give you, it's a complicated book.

Let's get started.

For one thing, this book is very complex and psychological. I've read tons TONS of erotica, especially this new, modern erotica which focuses on these kind of I-fuck-a-ton-of-women-I'm-so-good-in-bed heroes. And most of it is trash. Good for jilling off, in some cases, but completely without any depth or substance.

Which was why I was so delighted to discover this little gem while walking around Amazon.

THE GOOD:

- The story is super-fascinating. From a psychological angle, there are about a million things in here to analyze and dissect. This was probably about my twentieth reading of this, and I'm still finding new things - which delights me. Now, don't get me wrong. This is no Pride and Prejudice. You wouldn't teach a lit class on this (at least most people wouldn't) but compared to most of the erotica books out there nowadays this is gold. Gray is bringing something extra to the table.

- The book is genuinely funny. Not so much laugh-out-loud funny, but more of a sardonic, dry wit. The author is smart and funny. She will have you grinning wryly to yourself a lot.

- Perfect characterization. Moreso for Nate than Robyn, since we are in Nate's head most of the time. I can picture this man. I can predict what he will do. I can understand where he's coming from and where he's going.

Now is he the kind of man I'd date? The kind of man I'm attracted to? No. But that isn't the point. My point is that Gray had the time and skill to flesh him out.

- Nate has an army background - five tours in Afghanistan - but Gray does not focus on this. Nate is neither obsessed with his military past nor is Gray trying to make some sort of statement about servicemen. Most of the time when I read romance/erotica about military men, it always devolves into this sort of "He's a SEAL!!!!" obsessive mentality as if all people who serve are the same.

Nor is Nate subject to some sort of he-man complex about being army. He doesn't hang out with all his buddies from the service and he doesn't get physical with people in a 'fighting' stance. SO many romance novels about military/former military men is them hanging around in a relatively large group of men they used to serve with, and usually the author chooses to 'show off' the male's skills or training in some kind of fight. Nothing like that here. He doesn't even have a confrontation with anyone.

- Robyn is hurt. Common, common romance trope. When she gets entangled with Nate, she's been celibate a year.

What I really love, though, is how Gray handles this. For one thing, we don't really get into it until 51%. When Nate and Robyn exchange sexual info and STD screening results, and etc. etc. (another nice touch. Protection is also covered by Gray) it is at 24%, and Nate doesn't pry.

"You test for everything? I thought you used dental dams?"

"I'd rather be safe than sorry. Your turn."

She bites her lip. "Of course."

To my surprise, a flush darkens her skin as she pulls out her phone. Now she curls into herself and puts distance between us. Eventually she slides her phone to me.

The results are a year old. I try not to react outwardly to this news in any way. She's already blushing. I'm not going to be a dick about this.

"There's a hotel down the street from here," I say, still cautious but optimistic.

She admitted, by way of these results, to having a sexless year. Do I want to know why? Yeah. Do I want to know how a woman like her could go so long without... touch? Sure. Can I fathom going that long without? Fuck, no.

What's important is the way her expression softens when she realizes I'm not going to tease her or ask questions about her celibacy.

Hmmmmmmm, I really like this. When we get to fifty-one percent, she is talking to him and she tells him about her first trip to a BDSM club. They discuss sex and power exchange.

"Letting him spank you?"

"LET HIM is the important phrase here. So... not power but control."

"You topped from the bottom." He shakes his head as though he's disappointed, but there's a wicked light in his eyes. "Yeah. I can see you as a bad submissive."

"Which is why I'm not in the lifestyle."

His chin tilts up and his eyes are laser sharp. "Who gave you trust issues?"

I bite his lip to shut him up. He laughs. I've made it obvious he's hit a soft spot, but he can't have access to my sore bits. I don't care how good he is in bed, he can't cup my pain and inspect it.

If I give him Lawrence's name... If I tell Nate how my first crossed a line during a scene, made OBEY an ugly word for me - I can't do that. I'm not still writhing in the pain of mistrust but it's part of my DNA now.

Nathan can't have my blueprint.

And that's how things sit until 59%. She never gives Nate Lawrence's name. He never hunts him down and confronts him. AND THAT IS GOOD AND IMPORTANT. Too many romance novels feature the hero beating up or intimidating a former lover. Which is really quite silly. I realize romance is a... wish fulfillment genre, but I'm glad Gray sidesteps this trope. Anyway, at 59% she tells Nate she had a bad dom.

"Who made it hard for you to trust?"

She pulls back and her lids lower. "My first."

Of course. "What did he do?"

"He was a bad Dom."

I can assume the truncated story. "How bad?"

"He didn't listen when I said my safeword. Humiliation was his kink and not mine."

I keep my voice level but my hands ball into fists. I want to hurt the asshole who hurt her. "Pain?"

"I can take it. A lot."

But what about pleasure?

So. Nate, in exactly his Nate-like way that is completely in character, suggests that Robyn allow him to take her home and tie her up. Not because he is a dom - although this book insists on calling him an alpha a lot, I disagree, but more on that later - but because he a.) wants analytically to help Robyn get over what happened in the past and b.) he wants to prove himself, not as a dom or as an alpha or whatever the fuck - but prove to her that he will be someone she can always trust. She agrees, the agree on a safeword - and she picks one she knows will needle him because she loves to needle him - and tentatively suggests she'd like to find out if she enjoys having her nipples spanked.

They have a highly successful and consensual and pleasant BDSM session when they get home. These are HIGHLY RARE in erotica and I have to admit I am no BDSM expert, but I have to give Gray major, major props for this.

Again, I'm not into tie-me-up, tie-me-down, chips, dips, chains, whips. I am more or less vanilla. So I wasn't exactly jonesing on this BDSM scene. But it was extremely loving, respectful and romantic, if you see exactly what is going on here. It was one of the sweetest BDSM scenes I'd ever read, and that is really not something I usually say.

Again, IMO Nate is not a dom. As in "BDSM is part of my life, or I need to practice this lifestyle or I have needs that can only be sated in a relationship that involves BDSM." No. But she likes it - or at least she used to like it - and he can step up to the plate for her, so he does.

I have to give kudos to Gray for nicely including a bit of BDSM into the book without being all like, "OMG, S&M, CHRISTIAN GREY!" and shit. It's nice, normal, and woven into the fabric of the book in a not-over-the-top way. Much like Nate's military background.

- Another thing that was so refreshing in this book is that Nate is white - and from Georgia - and Robyn is black. Again - Gray talks about this, she doesn't just shove it under the rug - but nor does she make it into a huge "OMG, interracial relationship!!!!!" deal. It's just the perfect balance IMO. Very well done.

- Robyn and Nate slowly, slowly get to know one another. I mean, the fucking starts from the beginning. This is erotica. But the great thing about the book is how these two actually starting to care about each other - against all odds - slowly develops and crystallizes.

A nice touch Gray includes in this is how delighted Nate is when Robyn laughs. The first time she giggles, his heart nearly stops (this is already some ways into the book, they are not the giggling kind for the first third). After that, he is always seeking her laughter. And he doesn't seem like a joking kind of guy, but you can almost see him relaxing and letting down his guard a little bit so that he can allow himself to be a bit goofy (and he's not a goofy guy) - all for the hope of seeing her grin or hearing her laugh. He lives for it. I really enjoyed seeing this aspect of their relationship. She makes him see things as absurd or ridiculous and, instead of getting angry, he is able to relax and joke around with her - even about himself. They have a GREAT chemistry and the book involves a lot of gentle teasing and gentle joking with each other. You know these are normally two very serious people (and in Robyn's case, occasionally maybe even depressed) but they are able to lift each other up this way and it is very cute. The scene where Nate takes Robyn to the club he used to strip at and does a private show for her is adorable and funny. They are both laughing, and it's such a great scene.

She's sitting with her hands up at her mouth, clasped together as though in prayer. From the crinkle around her eyes, I know she's fighting a laugh. I strike the first pose with my legs spread in a fighter stance. I do a hip roll and slowly unbutton my geek shirt. I'm rusty but it doesn't take long to get the dress shirt undone.

I look her right in the eye and I flip the back of my shirt like Michael Jackson. She leans forward and her shoulders are shaking. Her eyes are so bright. She's laughed a lot since I've met her, but this is the first time I've seen joy on her face.

THE BAD:

It's a common mistake for folks to believe a five-star review from me means I have no complaints.

I definitely have complaints.

For one thing, why refer to Nate as an alpha all the time? I figure this is just to sell books. Slap 'alpha' on a book and it sells. I mean, I don't see Nate as beta but I don't see him as alpha, either. I just see him as a man. Do we have to categorize people all the time? Also I fucking hate the term 'alpha,' the whole idea is just stupid. An alpha dominates other males, not females and it has nothing to do with sex or sexual behavior.

I'm sad to think that the word 'alpha' and all the references to Nate being 'alpha' will scare off some readers who will then miss out on this treat.

2.) My second complaint is about Nate's 'fetish' of pussy-eating and how it's treated. "Oh, I am a pervert." "Oh, you are a nasty fucker." "Oh, this is filthy" etc. Like... eating pussy is not really weird. Liking to go down on women is not, in my opinion, a big deal or some kind of horrible shameful thing.

This is JUST LIKE when I read that book about that hero who enjoyed a little bit of recreational spankies and everyone treated him as if he was a serial killer or something. Remember that book? I was reading it and I was like, "What the fuck? He just wants to do some light bondage stuff. What's the big deal?" but the characters in the novel treated him as if he were murdering women in the night or doing stuff against their will or something. And he had this deep, deep shame about it - as if he was a bad and deeply fucked up person simply because he wanted to spank his woman a little bit and maybe tie her up on Saturdays. ???? Baffling.

Here it isn't AS bad as in that book. They don't treat Nate like a serial killer or rapist, at least. But everyone - including him - cheerfully believes something is deeply fucked up with him and that he's a 'pervert' and 'filthy.' Um... why? Because he loves eating women's vulvae and that gets him off? I don't really see the big deal. There's one or two references to him stealing used panties from girlfriends when he was a teenager, and that is more creepy, but still not falling into "OMG!!!" territory for me. *shrug*

He doesn't do ANYTHING nonconsensual sexually or questionable consent sexually in this book. I just want to make that clear. OK? Robyn is 100% on board with everything he's doing to her in the sack.

Just weird to me what some people define as 'sexual deviance.' Liking vulvae is not sexually deviant IMO. *shrug* But I get that it sells books. PERV in big letters with some overly muscled guy on the cover is going to be $$$$. Luckily LUCKILY for me, Nate did not practice what I found to be ugly, weird, or disrespectful sexual behaviors. I never know when I buy these books what I'm going to end up with.

In my opinion, the weird and deviant thing about Nate isn't his penchant for going down on women, it's his misogynistic tendency not to bother learning women's names and his deepseated fuckeduppedness about women and money. More on that in THE UGLY.

- The other thing that I consider 'bad' in this book is

Gray does a great job of depicting grief, death, and coping. I'm not slamming her for that. But this underlying idea is fucked-up. And no one calls it out.

THE UGLY:

For how much Nate 'loves' women - and I'm being ironic here - he's awfully misogynistic, at least at the beginning of the book. Imagine a man who doesn't even bother to remember women's names. Because it's 'useless shit.' He can 'date' these women for up to six months, and he's always exclusive. But he has them in his phone as "Cinnamon" or "Glitter" instead of by their proper names and he honestly doesn't even remember their proper names.

That's really disgusting. And how did he turn out this way? No one has any idea. No hints are given. He has a great relationship with his mother and it is showcased in the book. Perhaps Gray is trying to tie it in with his 'perversion' of being obsessed with vulvae, but NO, the two have nothing to do with each other IMO. So... what gives? Ex in his past fucked him up real good? Again, bullshit, but it would at least be an explanation.

- He also has serious issues with women and money. He must pay for everything, if Robyn even reaches for her wallet he gets angry. He says this is how he was raised, but he gets more upset than I think is healthy. She's absolutely not allowed to pay for anything and he takes it as a great insult if she tries. Now, you could just say "Great! I will enjoy dating someone who takes care of every single expense," but if you have half a brain, this will worry you on some level. I mean, he doesn't have a temper unless she brings up paying for something.

HOW'S THE SEX, CARMEN?

Brilliant! Exquisitely detailed. Even the most hardcore stickler for detail (Carmen coughs delicately) couldn't complain about the sex in here.

Now, Gray obviously covers practices that I'm not turned on by. Getting tied up, blowjobs while tied up, 'spanking nipples' and breast-biting are all things that severely don't interest me, I'm not into pain at all, but there were plenty of things I enjoyed as well. But if you don't enjoy reading about cunnilingus, just avoid this book. It's basically the whole book. Not all - they definitely have blowjobs, PIV sex, and one hilarious and amazing scene about foreplay that I LOVED. He's hustling her off the bedroom and she's gently teasing him about "What, no foreplay?" so he dedicates hours to foreplay just to piss her off and she ends up begging to be fucked. It's very cute.

She's a low-lidded, moaning mess when I flip her back over. She'll never question me about foreplay again. I will lick her elbow in a way that will make her come. My dick hates me, but it always does. And I'm not done yet.

Laughing out loud. He reminds me of one of my ex-boyfriends. :D

Awesomely Pervy and hilarious!

I loved this book. The story was in Nathan’s POV, which I really liked because you don’t often get books in the hero’s POV. Nate is a self confessed Perv with a fettish of going down on women. He loves the smell and taste, not that he isn’t also into sex, but he has made himself just about the best giver there is when it comes to oral involvement.

The problem is that Nate is basically just a dick and a mouth. He doesn’t want commitment from the women he dates. Even if he sees some of them for months, he rarely knows their names and is always upfront with them about the nature of the relationship and the fact that it will be short term. His friend Tarik thinks that even so, he is probably hurting these women by giving them something that they won’t easily ever find again. Since he is so good at what he loves to do.

So what happens when a woman comes up to him in a bar and gives him a taste of his own medicine? Sparks fly and things go crazy from there. Basically the story is awesome. Raunchy - yes, but totally worth it. I loved it!

I tried. DNF’d at 41%. Overall if this is the type of book you’re into then the sexy times are probably 5 star worthy. Very descriptive. I think it’s possible the power dynamic may end up putting the two on equal footing but I couldn’t say for sure. But I cannot get into the premise of not fucking someone because of “girl code” and then fucking them to… prove a point? Not sure, whole thing was lost on me.

That actually was really my breaking point. I hate to expose the secrets of the sisterhood but guys don’t own the market on casual sex. There is no “girl code” if your friend slept with a fuckboy and then tells everyone he can eat pussy like a god. We do talk…and similar to guys we will put you in “one night stand” verses “boyfriend/husband material” just as fast as guys will deem a girl a slut.

Lastly, and this is probably nit picky as fuck but if a guy has a fetish that is basically getting off on the way a woman’s pussy taste (and I know this may be crude to some of you but that is this guy) he’s not savoring that sweet nectar through a dental dam.

Favorite Quote: "Is there anything you need to warn me about?"

I draw my mouth down her cheek then whisper in her ear, "I'm a pervert."

This came as a Twitter recommendation (which really are the best kind) from Bree and several others. I started seeing tweets about a hero obsessed with giving oral and thought - well let me just see what this guy is all about.

Warning: Dirty quotes are coming - Nate is verra naughty.

Nate is an interesting romance hero. He is very full of himself - arrogant, obnoxious to an extent. He is charming yet a total bastard. The kind of romance hero who would be a total dick in real life but endearing in a book because you hope he is redeemed by the end (and he is). And what makes it even better is that the heroine strolls in and will have none of his games. But before we get to her - Nate is a god at giving oral sex - and he knows it. It's his obsession. As he says:

Pussy is my cake.

(I warned you)

It's all he thinks about and it's all he wants to do.

Attraction is that simple for me. Would I like her to sit on my face? Yes. Proceed. No? Pass. I am nothing if not a simple man.

So he gives women the most amazing sex of their life, and yet has a fear of committment. He is honest about it and tries not to lead them on. But he has walked away and left more than one woman upset.

"You torture women, you know that, right?" The huskiness in her voice is the best friction.

"Torture?" I ask.

"Mind blowing head. And then they have to somehow live the rest of their lives cold turkey or with second best. That makes you an asshole."

Robyn is our heroine. She is a paralegal with self-confidence and charm. Her best friend in the world felt hurt by Nate and Robyn has made it her mission to get revenge. She seeks Nate out at a club, and comes on to him. She knows he is hooked, but then she refuses him. She teases him. She wants to make him hurt like he hurt her friend. He can't even remember her friend's name (he doesn't remember many of the women he has been with) In the end, she gives him ten minutes of herself...and then she walks away. Nate wants more of her - and it's all he can think about it.

Robyn has been depressed for some time now and is ready to go out and live life. With the urging of her friend Samantha, she decides to give in and have some fun with Nate. But what starts as a teasing game between the two, leads to a much deeper connection.

I loved Robyn because she can give it to Nate just as good as he deals it out. She can tease him, maybe even better than he can tease her back, and she knows it blows his mind.

But we're back to our power playing game so I take a long sip before I give her the cup. I don't know what it is exactly, even knowing the name, but it taste like sweet grass.

She's so not normal.

“Where do you plan to fuck me today?” She takes the cup and puts her mouth right where I had mine.

My cock is in love with her. I have no doubt of this.

She is ready for anything he throws her way. She isn't afraid to be kinky, or to show Nate her real self. She felt very genuine.

Nate IS an asshole, but he is an honest one. And while he doesn't remember the names of the women he is with, and may drop them not always in the nicest fashion, he also to an extent, respects women. He never tries to change a woman, even more so, he loves to see a woman walk away from him with a confident step. He likes to make women feel good about themselves - and I liked that a lot.

And on top of all the games, and teasing, and freaking out over true feelings and committment, we get naughty sexin'

I give her my fingers next, add them to the pleasure. This is where you separate the boys from men. I'm not trying to stab her or play tease and touch with her cervix. Who wants to be nicknamed Jack the Pussy-Ripper? And I know my fingers will never be my cock, but I can create that full and fucked sensation.

The next book coming out in November is called, Filth, but it's just a retelling of this story in Robyn's point of view. I did hear though that Nate's friends may get books and this excites me.

First, thank you Jessica for gifting me this book 

This was my first Dakota Gray book and was ready to dive into a little filthy reading. In Perv, our Hero has a kink, one that I can’t say I’ve read about in any other book before. It’s all about pussy. Smelling it, touching it, tasting it and fucking it. And although he’s never told the women he’s with that he’ll ever be more than a mouth that worships them, he has left a few broken hearts in his wake.

Enter Robyn. She’s not a victim of his mouth, yet – but once she realizes the guy she’s coming onto at the bar is the same man who broke her friend, a little flirting turns into revenge. But poor Robyn never expected this man to be that talented or not being able to keep her heart out of it.

This was a hot little read. And although you do get a story tossed in, it was a lot of insta-everything; which I personally don’t mind. Sometimes I just want to get to the point you know?

Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one. But I think what really sealed the deal for me was oddly enough, what the author wrote in her acknowledgements. I loved that carefree attitude. I love that she wrote the books expected for romance and is now not apologizing for wanting to write a hot little book because it’s what she wants. That right there is what I love to see as a reader. That means the book you get might not always fit the mold for romances, but it’s going to have a bit more of the author’s heart in it.

Meh...
Yes, the book definitely delivered on being one of the dirtiest things I've ever read, but aside from the smutty smutty smut, there wasn't much to this one for me. I never felt connected to the characters and some of the situations were just a little too much on the kink side of things for me. I didn't hate it, I just don't think one this was meant for me.

Pre-read Thoughts: That moment when the author of the sexiest, dirtiest book I've ever read suggests a book and says:

" I read a positively filthy book over the weekend. It was so raunchy and dirty that at one point I was tweeting about clutching my pearls." - Kit Rocha

I NEED TO READ THAT BOOK

You guys ........ THIS BOOK .... I don't even have words.

It has been a very long time since I laughed myself into hiccups AND felt the all the feels jumping from page to page. I'm not gonna tell you this story is sexy because it is WAY more than sexy. It's sex. Just S.E.X. in all its glory! And it was a glorious ride to read.

But don't be fooled by the sex of it all because there is a story here. In between the pussy licking and the My Little Pony anal plugs and every other hiccup inducing moment, there was a story. A story of two people who found the light in the dark. A story of two people who learned to be the best version of themselves thru each other and for each other. A story of love.

Pick this gem up and do it quick. It's filthy and dirty and just so much love :)

Perv is my first read by Miss Gray. I can not say I like it or enjoy it. The story is very boring. The banter did not meet with my expectation. I can not say, I enjoy reading the book.

I was expecting something hot and sexy. And sadly it is not the case.

What a fantastic story!

With a title like that I was expecting kinky. Yes, there's kink...forget foot fetishes! Really, there's fetishes and then there's Nate's fetish. OMFG

But there's so much more than kink and fetishes in this story. There's a deeper, heartfelt romance with a devastating reveal.

The characters are expertly developed. Nate is a prime alpha a-hole.

Apparently when I say things like “I want you to come on my tongue” that is considered dirty talk, not relationship goals. Who knew?
...
That's all I provide—the best sex a woman could want. No shame or excuses. No need to pretend like she wants a relationship to get good sex. The women who do want a relationship, I avoid. Women who start to gaze at me as though I can be that honey-I'm-home guy, I drop—kindly.

But then...he meets Robyn. She's no pushover. Plus, she has an agenda.

He probably uses women for money, hates his mother, has no ambition, and is the kind of asshole who would kick a woman out of his house if she were on her period.
...
I'm going to give him a hard time, but once, just this once, I'm going to have him in my bed. I won't be fool enough to fall for him.

She's no fool and she has a secret. A secret she expects him to know. He doesn't, and it will destroy them both.

There's not going to be a wedding when we're done with each other. There will be gravestones.

The side characters, their friends, are also well developed and a big part of the story.

The men friends:
Men gossip like women. They just use less words when they do.
“You know he's still fucking Robyn.”
“He is? Dumb fuck.”

The women friends:
Samantha rips the cover back an inch and shoves a wine bottle into my hand. “This has got to stop. It's one thing to be sad over a break up. Another to be pathetic.”
...
“Now don't waste another moment. Make mistakes, make love, be happy.

Overall, a great start to a series that will likely focus on a new couple each book. Although, I look forward to seeing more of Nate and Robyn.

P.S. there were a half dozen typos, but none even came close to detracting from this story.

This was funny, emotional, and there are no words for how sexy it was! I devoured the whole thing in a couple of days, loved every minute of it, and didn't skim once. From start to finish I was completely engaged in the Nate and Robyn drama. All the stars! One of those books I'm sure I'll reread at some point.

**5 I have Cake Stars**

When a woman Hoovers up your c*me before it can spill out and your first thought is marriage, yeah, that can f*ck you up

I’m not going to lie, I have NEVER, EVER in my history of leaving reviews, been more excited than I am right now to write this and plan it. God, I don’t even know where to start, telling you all how much I EFFING loved this damn book.

First and Foremost, if you’re considering reading this book, please don’t be a prude. This book is erotic and dirty and filthy (aptly named), and no one needs a sour puss mucking up the reviews for the rest of us, because you don’t like the “p” word. If you don’t know what “p” word I’m referring to, chances are you probably shouldn’t read it either.

So, let’s be honest here, I write reviews. Usually close to 20 or 30 a month. I read a book, I feel the book, and then I write down my thoughts and what feelings emerged. Then I move on. I find the next story to take me on a new adventure. But this book….. This will be the new book I compare all others to. This will be the book that will set my standards on ALL erotic books to come. Perv is my new addiction, it’s MY cake. (Although I wouldn’t mind having the female equivalent to Nate’s affliction)

Don’t believe anyone who says eating p*ssy is like kissing. If a p*ssy licks you back, you should run

See….I told you, FILTHY! And PERFECT, and AMAZING!! The one liner quips in this book, was my ultimate undoing. They had me rolling around in stitches. Literally, (I read most of it waiting for Grandma to get out of the doctor’s office, and people were staring at me while I laughed). But not only was it erotic, it was also, beautifully written, with an amazing story to back it up. Nate, even through his odd fetishes and insanely good way of incorporating the alphabet, was a man with feelings and a heart. And Robyn, God love a girl who gives good head! I'm not going to say anymore about it though, spoilers aren't my thing.

Traditionally, in this part of the review I would do a little synopsis that matched the blurb, but I don’t want to. I want YOU to read it. I want anyone who thinks they know good Erotica, to read this and then come back to this review. Perv was perfect. Nate was perfect. Robyn was perfect. And the actual sex? F*@K ME SIDEWAYS, it was hot. I realize I’m starting to ramble, and if you’ve made it this far into my review, I will firstly applaud you, and then I’ll slap you for taking the extra time to read MY words and not read the book itself. Go….. go now…. Go buy it…. I’m waiting. Have you left yet? Good…..

I couldn’t put it down, and there’s a VERY high probability that I will read it again, and quite soon. Watch out for Dakota Gray people…. She’s going to take the world by storm. I CANNOT wait for another book from her to emerge, and you can bet Nate’s cunninglingus abilities, that I will be first in line to “snatch” that book up, because I am now a die hard Dakota fan. She’s in my top 5 right next to Pepper Winters and JK Rowling, and for me, that’s saying something (I mean I have a Dark Mark Tattoo for a reason people).

Just take my advice and one-click this book….. You won’t regret it!

Hmmm.

The most intersting part of me about this book isn't the fetish that Nate has for downtown, rather it is the more quiet discussion of connection and objectification and grief.

Those parts of the romance were powerful for me, however, Robyn's and Nate's working stuff out should have been on the page and in the book. Instead, we get melodrama, angst, and don't get the well deserved falling in love.

Revenge plot, jerk heroes and deep 1 person are not my favorites so this book was climbing a steep hill with me.

The sexy stuff is sexy (though opening a romance with him with someone not the heroine makes me cringe a bit).

So, didn't work that great for me and the author's note at the end of the book annoyed me as a reader who is happy to see something different.

However, I will try the next book in the series as Nate's friends are intersting.

This guy was soooo pervy. And he was a total douchebag, but he was honest about it. He was pretty much an open book and I loved reading his POV. Robyn, on the other hand, annoyed me a bit because she was such a contradiction. Part of me gets where she was coming from, but the other part says 'nope'. But the sex scenes -- Wowsa! Smokin'hot.

I find the entire premise of this book deeply confusing
1. We live in a sad world if a dude who loves eating pussy is what passes for a perv these days. That should just be a baseline for most acceptable sexual partners.
2. This book comes at things as if Nate is the world's greatest asshole. He barely even qualifies as a fuckboy. He likes and respects women and is very upfront with the fact that he is not looking for a relationship. He even whips out his STI test before any sexual encounters. That's a pretty decent casual sex partner in my opinion! They should have him give talks in high school sex ed classes. A fuckboy pretends he wants a relationship and then goes all "New phone, who this?", when you tell him that he gave you crabs. Fuckboys do not obsess over giving head. Nate is a little bit of a dick and falls on the average end of shitty guys you date in your twenties. But it feels like more of a conceit of the book than actually in character that he would full on forget the name of a girl he was semi-dating for at least three months. Especially once he was able to fill in the details. This wasn't some random bar hookup named Lauren. This was a 25 year old NICU nurse/virgin named Lorraine. Very few people were naming baby girls Lorraine in the late 80's/ early 90's. I have never met one. I doubt he has to reach real deep for that one.
3. I guess we are supposed to chalk Robyn's actions up to grief, which I can understand up to a point. And this is also a weakness of the choice of POV the author used for most of the book, but her entire plan and the actions that set the books to motion are really weird. Revenge sex is not going out and screwing the guy your dead best friend lost her virginity to because he is somehow the reason she died of cervical cancer (?!) and married a dickweed(?!). Revenge sex is fucking your cheating ex boyfriend's brother. I feel like maybe she should have known that poor Lorraine was dying and addled on morphine and was grieving the fact that she was dying so young and in a deeply unfair and shitty manner. I don't know how that leads you to tracking down said best friend's ex-boyfriend (who Lorraine broke up with in the first place!) in order to punish him? Or punish herself. As with a great many books I read, I can't help but think that it should have ended with the main characters in therapy before they even begin to contemplate a lifelong relationship. Maybe this is all explained in the book from Robyn's point of view. But I find that trend annoying and disingenuous. A book should stand on its own as a complete work. Ugh.

It's official - Nate is #ThePussyWhisperer

What a fun and deliciously dirty story! Robyn is out for revenge, one of her friends having had her heart broken by Nate (and not just that, but he is in the habit of ruining women for other men because of his cunnilingus skills). She's determined to bring him down by offering a taste of what he can't have, but things go off the rails when she gets sucked in by his charm (and skills) too. To Nate's credit, he's up front with any of the women he sleeps with, commitment phobic to the core. He's got a military background, some PTSD issues that I would have liked to see delved into a little more. And he's got a pussy fetish - he doesn't care what body they are attached to, he loves them all. I loved seeing him and Robyn dance around each other until they both get slammed by the realization that they've developed feelings in what was supposed to a lighthearted affair. There are some emotional moments to the story too, not enough for tears, but enough to make you realize that Nate is a more complex guy than he lets on. I enjoyed seeing him with his two friends who will also get stories in the series. If you're looking for a fun, super sexy read, this is it!

Received a complimentary copy of this book as a WOCinRomance book club selection. I cannot wait until we talk about this book!

The writing gets 5 stars alone. Descriptive and hilarious! Kudos to Dakota. Loved her writing style!

Why the rating of 3.5 stars? Nate and Robyn. Robyn alone deserves a throat punch. No true friend would ever ever ever ever EVER do what she did. EVER. This surpasses girl code and dives into you're a shitty human being territory. I was so disappointed in her.

Nate was almost perfect in his douchery, but of course, I had issues with him.

Perv was a funny and entertaining ode to p*ssy that made me laugh out loud more than a few times. The sex scenes were scorching but the characters themselves frustrated me so damn bad. If you're looking for a book with a bunch of LOL moments and scorching sex scenes, grab this.

26 Letters in the Alphabet and "O" is his Favorite Letter!

==========> You for dessert is his specialty.<==========

At his favorite watering hole, Nathan meets a mysterious woman that captures his attention. She flirts, he takes the bait, she knows his name and his game. Women have been talking. She speaks in riddles about a mutual friend (done wrong) that Nathan can't remember. They banter but she refuses to give him her name (so he calls her Stealth & Heels). Stealth definitely gets his attention when she guides his hand to touch her -- down there. Nathan is in heaven, until she walks away -- without a backwards glance. WTF just happened?

No. One. Walks. Away.

Pissed off and intrigued, Nathan begins an aggressive campaign to find out more about the mystery woman who is out for revenge and the name of her wronged friend. The two quickly get caught up in the game of one-upmanship. However, there's a mystery to be solved and Nathan won't rest until he has his answers and Stealth and Heels cries out uncle. The synopsis doesn't do this book justice. This is a story of sex, truth, lies, death, revenge, hate, lust, forgiveness and love.

I leave you with a few quotes from Nathan:

I will lick her elbow in a way that will make her come. My dick hates me, but it always does.

Pussy is my cake.

WARNING: The sex is graphic and molten fire hot and I want to whisper one final word to you: Foreplay! All is explained in the book.

My review? Go. Buy. And. Read. This. Book. Now!!!! If you like dirty, sexy and emotionally compelling erotic romance!

Full review:
The prologue alone made me all fluttery. This guy was going to wreck me. I just knew it!

And he did! Nate Ellis was the epitome of unapologetic and dirty womanizer in all the good ways and it was compelling to watch him fall for the only woman capable of bring him to his knees. Oh, he fought it, but from the start, from their very first interaction, it was clear 'Stealth and Heels' owned him.

This book was all things pervy, filthy, dirty I could wish for. But that's not all it was. I loved the writing and that's saying a lot since it is written in first person POV, which is not a favorite of mine. But it was so good I didn't care. I also loved the way the author divulged the main characters' back stories little by little, keeping me engaged to know more and intrigued to get to the core of the characters.

I adored Robyn and was as intrigued about her back story and past as I was with Nate's. And before I started PERV I already knew there was going to be a book in Robyn's POV (FILTH) so I knew I was going to get that in due course.

But it's not just the dirty that makes this book a 2016 favorite for me. The emotionally gripping characters and their back stories were just as, if not more, excellent. Nate isn't just a f*ckboy with an oral fetish and Robyn isn't just a woman out to revenge her friend. There are layers to them that are subtly laid bare along the way and next to all the sexy times, filthy minds and laugh-out-loud moments, this definitely contributed to my utter enjoyment of this book.

All I can say is: if you like your erotic romance dirty sexy, this one is definitely for you! Hot, emotional, sexy and unapologetic wrapped in brilliant writing.

Favorite Quotes:
Altogether, she's...interesting and I want to taste her.
Yes. Attraction is that simple for me. Would I like her to sit on my face? Yes. Proceed. No? Pass. I am nothing if not a simple man.

I need to run, sweat, and punch something. Maybe kill a cow with my bare hands then eat it. Then I can forget her, and the phantom taste of her p*ssy will leave me the f*ck alone.

He's squinting at me, likely trying to decide just how f*cked I am.
Well...when a woman Hoovers up your come before it can spill out and your first thought is marriage, yeah, that can f*ck you up.

I'm probably wrong about the murderer part. Robyn is some kind of assassin. Her redheaded friend is her handler. The weekly meet at Starbucks is a check in. How do I know this? First, my brain stops working. Second, my heart barely lurches forward again a second later.

There's not going to be a wedding when we're done with each other. There will be gravestones. She's spreading her legs for me, crooking her finger, as she bites the side of her mouth. I cannot wait to die.

“Robyn.”
“Tarek.” She gives him the smile and he blinks for two seconds.
Something like vindication fills me. It's not just me. That smile of hers makes everyone dumb, and because I know she's about to fuck up Tarek's world, too, I stand back to enjoy it.
And try not to laugh.

Perv is honestly not what I was expecting. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. The setup is this: Robyn is out for revenge. Revenge on the man who her best friend said she hated. When Robyn meets that man, she is determined to play him the way she thought he had played her friend. Nate is that man, a commitment phobic, unashamed womanizer who is always completely upfront with the women to whom he gives the best oral of their lives that he does not want a relationship with them. He only wants a good time, he only wants them to have a good time. He's a former stripper, a former soldier who is between jobs, and is satisfied with his hedonistic life. Or at least he is satisfied with it until he meets one woman who calls him on his bs and turns him down after turning him on. Naturally, he wants this woman, and does everything he can to find her and stalk her into giving into him so he can get her out of his mind.

But, once he's had a taste, he can't simply eject her from his life, no, if anything, he becomes even more obsessed with her, even though it's obvious she's playing games with him. Their chemistry is pretty hot, but there was always a feeling of disconnect throughout for me, perhaps because I knew Robyn wasn't all in, was holding back and had devious intentions.

Nate is really not a perv, at least I don't think he is. But, he is a destroyer of women, albeit unintentionally. And Robyn, hmm, I admit, I didn't like her or connect with her until she let herself be vulnerable to Nate, that's when I could see what had Nate so obsessed with her. But up until that point I thought she was rather cold (perhaps deservedly so) and one dimensional with very questionable motives.

Perv is surprisingly introspective (at least from Nate's perspective) and even a little emotional. I really felt bad for Nate after awhile. It was clear that his time in the military and the death of his father had not done him any favors. I'm glad that Perv is written mostly from his POV, he is a really likable and interesting character. Robyn's book should be equally interesting, perhaps it will give her a more dimensional and humanizing effect that I didn't see in this story written in Nate's perspective. I'm also really excited to read Duke's book, he is just as intriguing as Nate. Is Tarek's book a possibility too?

Everything and more that the blurb indicated it would be.

Nate is honest about what he likes and the fact that he is not a forever type of guy. He enjoys women and skilled in giving pleasure. He has left many behind and one day he runs across a friend of one of those women that wants revenge…and he is unclear why…because he has always been open and honest about what his goals are before, during and at the end of a relationship.

Stealth and Heels (Robyn) is the woman who turns Nate’s life upside down and inside out BUT he returns the favor in spades. Their story is gritty, emotional, explicit and real. I liked both Nate and Robyn and was hoping throughout that the two of them could find a way to be together.

Nate’s friends, Tarek and Duke, are intriguing. I see that Duke is next in line for a book in this series. I will look forward to reading it when it comes out and hope the author will also write a book for Robyn’s friend Samantha.

Well done Dakota Gray! Thank you for the copy in exchange for my honest review.

The title says it all. Dakota Gray delivers a novel that takes you into the mind of Nate who is not just your average perv. She creates this character that you want to hate but you can’t help but love. Hell if I met him in person, I ‘m not sure I could resist him. Nate meets his match in Stealth and Heels and together they take you on a lip-biting, stomach-rolling, nail-clenching roller coaster ride that end in your asking the conductor for ONE MORE go ‘round. Do not read this book if you can’t handle the flame! But if you’re curious like the heroine in the book, you won’t regret giving it just 10 minutes of your time.
