Lily Frederick doesn’t think of herself as anyone particularly special. In fact, she’s really very ordinary. She’s a store manager living in the suburbs, just another person going through the motions of a life that doesn’t particularly interest her. It’s not that bad, she tells herself each day.
It might even be almost pleasant, if she weren’t also supporting her father, who, in the wake of her mother’s death, turned to alcohol for solace. As he sinks further into addiction, Lily struggles to hold them both together. When Corbin Lewis, the attractive – if a bit strange – man next door, becomes a bigger part of her life, she finds her own solace in him.
But everyone has secrets, and Corbin’s are deeper and more dangerous than most people’s. In loving her, he turns his back on everything he had once sworn to, and pulls Lily into a life that’s anything but ordinary.
*This story contains mature themes and language. It is intended to be enjoyed by an 18+ audience only. *Standalone novel, no cliffhangers here! *Please be aware that this is a romance short. Shorter fiction is a fun and quick read, not a full-length novel. "
The main story was good but could have been longer. It had a cute storyline but ended too soon for me. There are a lot of other stories; one other I enjoyed about a man that would change into a bear for winter. As for the rest of the book, it plunged downhill fast until it was smutty.
