This is a sweet novella.
Instead of encountering Mr. Darcy on the grounds of Pemberley, Lizzie and her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner happen to meet him at a scenic tor a few miles away. Sensing that Lizzie would like to climb to the top and experience the view, Mr. Darcy offers his assistance. Along the way, he tells her about how his mother and father met, and about the Darcy "tradition" of falling in love quickly and permanently. By the time they descend to the picnic area where the Gardiners are waiting, Darcy and Lizzie have come to an "understanding" and are, to all intents and purposes, already engaged.
The best thing about this: no Lydia / Wickham drama. (Although that might occur in the future.)
