Xtreme Bachelor

Finding Me

Rate this book
People remember Nicki Montgomery as the girl who tried to win over BMX rider and Xtreme Bachelor, Travis Grayson. She was all smiles and snark, which made her the most hated girl on reality TV and the perfect choice for the first bachelorette to have her own show.

Twenty extreme athletes vying for your attention should be every girl’s dream, but all Nicki can see is that she’s being shipped off to the middle of nowhere Oklahoma and every single date includes some type of physical activity. Neither of which fit with her elite Chicago lifestyle.

The biggest problem with going on the show is Nicki doesn’t want to play the part. She doesn’t want to be hated. Everything from her smile to her perfect family life is fake and she’s sick of living the lie. All Nicki wants is for someone to see the person she really is.

When the final choice is made, Nicki has to be ready to break a few hearts to find what she needs, maybe even her own.

**This is the second book in the Xtreme Bachelor series, but can be read as a standalone.**

Born and raised in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin, Caylie fell in love with reading at a young age. With her lively imagination, she created numerous stories in her head throughout her childhood and teenage years.

Her first novel, Choose Us, released in April 2014 and became an Amazon Bestseller.

When she isn't slaving away at the keyboard, Caylie is an avid reader, and lover of coffee... copious amounts of coffee. She also has an unhealthy addiction to coffee mugs, chapstick, water bottles, football, and tv shows--binge watching is her favorite.

She chases her two kids around the house all day, and has a husband who is her complete opposite, which makes for a lively household. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.

I don’t even know how to begin this review. I may be a bit bias, I mean, did you see the dedication? I may have cried when I read it. This book was such a breath of fresh air in a closed off room. I’m a sucker for a great love story and this one fit the bill and then some. I LOVED it. It’s highly original, full of witty dialogue along with some pretty steamy scenes. And the chemistry! ::swoon:: Dear god, she writes them so effing good.

I had a love/ hate relationship with Nicki throughout the book. I felt how sincere she was in her want to change, not only how people saw her, but how she saw herself as well. And we get to know Nicki on a very personal level in this book. And it was glorious, she was such a well rounded character. At times I found her to be a bit immature and petty making me a bit irritated and then, BAM! She would show this inner strength that just astounded me. The author made me FEEL so many emotions with regards to her that I realized how much I had actually come to care about this character. And while I do tend to become invested in the characters of the books I read, this one will always hold a unique place in my giant book heart.

And Nicki isn’t the only one who shined in this story. Bridget was what I would expect my BFF to say to me. She supported Nicki throughout and gave her the tough love she needed when Nicki started to back slide into her old ways. Cooper was….well I don’t want to ruin it for you. 😉 But suffice it to say that all the guys were distinct and memorable. Especially…… LOL, no I could NEVER do that to you guys. I will say the one she ends up with was NOT who I had thought it would be.

Go go forth and read it! I promise you will not regret it.

Caylie Marcoe had me at Darlin'. The southern girl in me cannot resist being called that.

I am happy to report that this perfect fall romance is chuck full of self discovery, family drama, the perfect best friend, wittiness, and well....romance. I have loved all of Caylie Marcoe's books, and this one did not disappoint! Be ready to fall in love with tons of characters, to laugh out loud, and to believe in independence and growing as a person. You will love this book!

Well done!

Every so often I go through my list of books I've read to see if there are any new ones by authors I read a few years ago. Well I'm glad I stopped and looked at this author. I'll be honest looking back on the original book I only remembered Riley & Travis. I had forgotten all about Nicki and in a way I am glad I did! This story was wonderful & just what Nicki needed! Can't wait for more!

I loved Finding Me by Caylie Marcoe! This is the second book in the Xtreme Bachelor series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I did not like the first book, Choose Us, that much, so I wasn't sure how much I'd like Finding Me. I ended up loving Finding Me! The book is about twice as long, and had much better characters and plot development. This novel focuses on Nicki, the villain of the first book. She wants to discover who she is and reinvent her image. Because in reality, she isn't the b*tch the show portrayed her as. Nicki becomes the bachelorette for season three of the show, and begins filming in Oklahoma, the complete opposite of her city life in Chicago. As the show progresses and she searches for love, she slowly discovers who she is and what she wants in life, as well as finding the perfect guy. I absolutely loved Nicki. She has a complete 180 from the first book, but that was really never who she actually was. There are some obvious contenders at the start, but it didn't read much as a love triangle, which I liked. I found it a little confusing with all the different names of the contestants, but many were eliminated and it was easy to follow the main contestants. The book goes through the entire show, with all the different dates and her interactions. I really liked the chemistry she had with Wade, and Brent, Cooper and Clay were all great and added different elements to the story. I loved the ending and I thought overall, the book was really good. I did have issues with the editing and grammatical errors I found throughout the entire novel. There were also issues with switching from past tense to present tense. But overall, it didn't distract too much from the actual story. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves dating shows like The Bachelor/Bachelorette and a good redemption/discovering yourself story.
