An adorable six-year old girl nicknamed “Killer” works to bring her dad and the heroine together as she keeps lifting stuff from the heroine’s shop. The hero is a divorced man with two teenaged sons and a daughter and is struggling to make sense of his daughter’s actions. He and the heroine have great chemistry but he doesn’t think she would want to take on his crazy life and they come from different worlds. The heroine says she doesn’t believe in marriage as she saw her parents marry and divorce multiple times; so she made her own family with cousins of third wife etc. No matter how much these two try to fight their growing attraction and feelings, the kid keeps getting them together and they grow to love each other. I really liked this one especially the bond and love heroine had for his kids.

surprising good read

This was well paced, the MCs matured adults and no silly misunderstanding trope. Found their way to love gently. I didn’t think it would amount to much - judged the book by the cover ! - but enjoyed the read and would recommend it.

4 Stars! ~ His kids were enchanted with her. And that worried single dad, Josh Penoyer. Ariel owns a quirky shop in town and Josh's six year old daughter, Patrice aka Killer, has discovered it's charm as well as Ariel's. Killer was devastated when her Mom had walked out of their lives, and sees in Ariel a new Mom. Ariel loves kids, but after witnessing her own mother move from one relationship to another, she's vowed to remain single and to never put a child through what she had to endure growing up. But Josh and Ariel have a dilemma. Killer is so eager to get them together she keeps swiping things from Ariel's store forcing Josh to have to return them. And the more time he spends with Ariel the more her charms warm his heart. Only can he weaken Ariel's resolve not to become attached?

This is my first book by Jennifer Greene. What a delightfully fun read! Killer is adorable. The chaos that she causes in Josh and Ariel's life is hilarious to read. There were many laugh-out-loud moments. Though neither is looking for a relationship, their romance develops very nicely with an immediate but wary attraction. I really enjoyed their journey!
