THE SOUL SUMMONER (Book 1)

Blessed or cursed with a connection to the souls of others, Sloan Jordan can see the best in people...and the worst. With nothing more than a glance at a photograph, she can judge the living from the dead and the good souls from the evil ones. For twenty-seven years, she's kept her ability a secret, but eleven young women have been murdered in the mountains of North Carolina, and Sloan may be the only hope of finding their killer.

She has just agreed to help Detective Nathan McNamara with the case, when a stranger--who is as alluring as he is terrifying--shows up at her doorstep with a dark past and another puzzling she can't see his soul at all.

Now Sloan is on the hunt for a deadly psychopath with two irresistible men. One of them would die for her, and the other would kill to keep her safe.

THE SIREN (Book 2)

All the missing victims of North Carolina's deadliest serial killer have been found, all except Rachel Smith. When the FBI produces a photo proving Rachel is alive and well in Texas, one case is closed but another one is opened. Either this is a case of mistaken identity or there are more people than just Sloan Jordan and Warren Parish who seem to walk the earth without a soul.

Along with Detective Nathan McNamara, Sloan and Warren travel south to find Rachel and solve the biggest mystery of determining who--or what--they really are.

A paranormal adventure with just enough romance, this is a fun, fast series that has some unique qualities not found in much of the paranormal romance sub-genre. I particularly enjoy how the characters and their relationships develop over time.

Sloan and her friend Adrianne were having a meal together. Adrianne kept teasing her about how she can somehow summon people to her by thinking of them and calling her a witch. And then they step out the door and see the person Adrianne had teased her to “call” to them! So Sloan explains how she has always had a feeling that she has met everyone before – there are no strangers in her life. She gets a sense about people and knows if they are alive or dead and what kind of person they are, whether good or evil. People are drawn to her. But this is a secret she doesn’t want known.

Years later, working at her publicist job, Detective Nathan McNamara knocked at her office door. He was delivering a press release regarding a missing person and was startled when she gushed, “He’s dead.” She brushed off her comment as a wild guess, but he remembered. He would later come back to ask her how she knew with certainty, in the hope that she could tell him about a missing little girl kidnapped at gunpoint and presumed dead.

The characters in this book were all amazingly detailed. The humor interspersed was just wonderful and made them all so real. I felt like I thoroughly knew each one of them and they felt like old friends. The fast pace kept me reading on and on as Sloan and Nate tried to solve the mystery of a vicious serial killer loose in their own hometown – this was one book I definitely couldn’t put down! I highly recommend it! In addition to The Siren, which continues the work that Sloan, Nate and Warren started here, there are a couple other related stories worth reading. This was really one of my favorite series! You will definitely enjoy the read! It’s exciting and fascinating with lots of surprises! (I purchased these books individually as well as the 2-book box set, so I do own all the books and loved reading each one!)

Oh my!

The Soul Summoner books 1 & 2 are one of the best stories to come my way for a long time! Funny, exciting, & mixed with a little sarcasm, the author will take you on a journey of self discovery like no other. Solving crimes, finding love, and realizing you are touched by the supernatural makes this series an exciting read.

My first thought when I started reading the book was ‘Why haven’t I heard about this book before?’. It grabbed me from page one and didn’t let me go even when I finished the last page. I’m so glad I could immediately start reading the second book.
Paranormal is my favourite genre, but these books are so much more. There’s suspense and mystery and each page seemed to reveal another surprise. There were times I honestly didn’t know where this story was going. I love that in a book!
But there were a few times when I had a few chuckles to myself. I loved Sloan and she made me laugh more than once. However, the repartee between Detective Nathan McNamara and Warren was the icing on an already delicious cake.
I’m thankful, I don’t have to wait before I can start reading book 3.
I gave The Soul Summoner Series 5 stars! I wish I could have given it 10, 5 for each book.

Loved this book...SOUL SUMMONER Book 1; The Soul Summoner Series-..I read the Detective which is a little intro and you meet Detective McNamara.
Meet Sloan who has the ability to see, feel, and summon things. When she tells Detective Nathan McNamara something she's not sure how he will take it. Because she's a publicist how does he think she could help him? He might think her to be a total freak. That's until she starts to prove him she's telling the truth. Getting the shock of his life, but it also catches him off guard. He never knew, but he suspected. She might be able to help him on some cases. Sloan refuses until a little girl opens her eyes. The one case was success.

A weird thing happens to Sloan when she see's someone but doesn't get a read on him. Something entirely different happens. Somehow something brings Warren to her, and it's like there's a magnetic pull. It gets really interesting. The only thing is Nathan also has some feelings towards Sloan, and
doesn't know what to do with them.

The case gets more interesting. What will happen next? Will they find the killer before he strikes again. They have a hig clue and it's the time when its about to happen...Hang tight.

Highly Recommend...Book 2 is The Siren.

Loved THE SIREN

As Sloan, her boyfriend Warren, and Nate try to locate a missing victim they think is still alive things get really interesting. So many twists and turns in this book it will just have you turning the pages quickly. So much excitement. Could not put it down.

Paranormal Love Triangle

Very enjoyable novels. Sloane, the heroine, is able to "see" people's souls, and when she thinks about someone they either call or show up. In the course of solving a series of murders she becomes involved with a handsome police detective. He's just about to make a move when she finds a gorgeous man who is like her, only opposite. Who will she choose? I'll never tell! But I have to find the third book of Ms. Hyder's series to find out for sure.

I one clicked this box set after reading recommendations on Facebook, I haven’t read anything from Elicia before and I’m so glad I listened to those recommendations. The Soul Summoner is an amazing story that I was drawn into from page one, I totally loved it. I already have book 3 and I can wait to start reading it. I fell in love the main characters Sloan, Warren and my favourite Detective Nathan McNamara. I don’t want to give anything away because that will spoil it for you, but the story just keeps getting better with every turn of the page. I kept thinking to myself ‘I know what’s coming next’ and then of course I was completely wrong.

A well written and enjoyable series.

I highly recommend The Soul Summoner, differently 5 *

I bought this set on Amazon after reading excellent reviews on Facebook. The series is a quick read with a good storyline. The love triangle is a bit much towards the end of book two, but it doesn't overshadow the story.
I preferred the action/adventure/love triangle of the first book compared to that in the second, (it seemed to move faster) but I still enjoyed both books...... I'll be purchasing the third due to the crazy cliffhanger the second book left.... well played Ms. Hyder.... well played... you got me there...

Amazing

I am the worst about writing reviews...so when I say you NEED to read this series, just believe me. Sloane is quirky, beautiful and funny. Easy to like and you WANT to hang out with her! Nathan is adorable, honorable and carries a gun. Easy to laugh with and you know you'll be safe. Warren is dark, witty and travels with an arsenal. Easy to just be with and will protect you with his life.
These 3 are characters that you KNOW at the end of the story and you're desperate for more.

This is a great series with lots of twists and turns and a great love triangle at the heart of the story. I love the characters. Sloan tries so hard to do what is right even when it causes her so much pain. Nathan and Warren are both great guys and you can see why she struggles with her desires to be with both. I can't wait for the next story.

I read the stories when they were initially released and received a copy in return for a honest review.

Fantastic!

Both books were incredible. I can't wait for more. This wasn't something I normally would have picked to read, but since I met the author at a recent event and thought she was wonderful, I decided to give the books a try. LOVED them. Well written with a combination of everything you could want in a book. I'm counting the days for the next installment.

A great new paranormal series! Sloan Jordan is a young woman with some petty neat abilities. She can see people's souls and has a spark about her that instantly draws others to her. Join Sloan and her two new male friends as they stop a kidnapper, bring down a serial killer and go up against something bigger than they ever could have imagined!

A distraction from reality!

I didn't want to put this book down.
Someone put that it was like Stephanie plum colliding with the supernatural world and it is very accurate.
A funny spin on angels and demons. Good use of description and plot to carry the characters from start to finish! Now onto the next book to continue the journey.

It is the kind of series that you can't wait to find out what's coming next... Mystery, action, passion, laughter etc... you name it, is here! And you go to the second book and it has a sci-fi turn that I was unexpected! I am not so in to it but the story, the suspense are wonderful! Drama, action, power, love, hate, surprises... And the ending was a little expected (maybe for me!). The conclusion is one...You have to read and the rest of this series!
