Women Strong Enough For Love

Donna writes science fiction, paranormal and small town romances about women coming into their strength and having the courage to find and accept love.

Now that she has retired from going into an office every day, she created an office at home and writes full time. Talk about living the dream!

She was the girl at the party who was yearning for the quiet corner and a book to read (go Rory Gilmore!), and has been writing in her head since she learned to read. Getting those stories down on paper (or in her laptop) has been more fun than she ever imagined it could be.

The possibilities of science fiction have always drawn her and she’s read them all, there just needed to be a little more romance in them. She finally got up the courage to write them herself and is delighted to be able to share these stories with you.

She is a member of Romance Writers of America, the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal Chapter of RWA and the Heart of Carolina Romance Writers.

After psychic police consultant Becca Brandywine is shot, she wakes up in the hospital to discover she no longer has her gift. So, she retreats to a lake house in rural NC to heal--and meets handsome auto mechanic Mitch. But Mitch is more than he seems and Becca is more attracted than she wants to be. Without her gift to guide her, can she trust him?

Mitch knows Becca is hiding a secret, but he thinks it's the fact that her father is rich. Super rich. He has no idea she used to have amazing psychic abilities. And neither of them realize Becca's life is in danger because a psycho she helped put away has escaped. And he's looking for Becca.

This book was faced paced from page one. And the hero and heroine are both just so likeable. Especially Mitch who is completely adorable. The conversations between him and Becca are not only believable but so cute you just fall in love with them both. I also got a few chuckles from Mitch's wit. Love the antibiotic crack! And the villain is completely creepy.

Ms. Steele gives short snippets in his POV that show an amazing insight into his personality. There's no big backstory dump. We never hear if he was abused by his father or beaten by his mother, but we know what makes him tick. Part of this book read like a episode of Criminal Minds with a romantic plot. I loved it.

If you like romantic suspense, this is a great book to add to your collection.

Suffering from PTSD, Becca has lost her gift. In North Carolina to heal, she never expected to meet Mitch. Mitch was unlike anyone she’s ever met. For the first time in her life Becca is learning to trust herself and others. Terrified of what the future holds, Becca is afraid to take the next step in her relationship with Mitch. What if he doesn’t like her once he learned the truth about her psychic abilities? Becca is stronger and more resilient than she believes, and when she and her friends are threatened, she draws on her strength and their love to help save them. I love it when the girl saves the day. If you like steamy romance with a thrilling suspense, you will love this story. A little horror, a lot of romance and a little humor made this a wonderful read.
Donna Steele does an excellent job of balancing romance with the horror side of a thriller, putting the reader in the antagonist's mind. The brief glimpses of a true monster's thoughts is enough to make you wonder how a psychic could survive touching that evil. But Ms. Steele keeps us from the edge of nightmare by shining a light in the darkness as we watch Becca and Mitch fall in love. The beauty of learning to trust one's partner, finding love and acceptance is layered between nightmares both past and present. Steele keeps us on the edge of our seats as Becca's past returns to destroy her and finds Mitch in the way. Thank goodness for happy endings in romance! A fantastic story of strength, courage and love.

Wonderful main character who has issues to deal with before even being aware of a killer after her. I also thought her problems were very interesting and the way she was written it really made you feel for her. Have to admit that as crazy as the killer was I did enjoy his character a good bit. He had a unique personality and take on everything.
