With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

This was very dated and the story didn't really have enough substance to hold my interest for more than a chapter or two at a time.

Nice story. I read the others in this series several years ago and only now caught up with this one, late enough that I don't much recall what was in those other books. In this one, the hero and heroine meet when she marches up to him in a Boston pub and punches him in the face. She's mistaken him for a thief her troubled little brother has gotten involved with. Some romances don't have a whole lot of plot. This one has plot coming out the wazoo. Almost more than the book has room for. There's a subplot involving his parents' marriage, one about the angry brother, one for the heroine's job, the hero's dissatisfaction with his job... and of course there's the romance taking place while all the other stuff is going on. The series is about the hero, his parents and his meddling grandfather. An interesting take on romance novels.

A love story about the Holleran Family in Boston. The 3rd generation son, Jason , falls in love with a girl, Dana Roberts, from a seedy part of town with a younger brother, Sammy.

Love (Vows Book 1)

Great love for one another has to be discovered! Not by taking for granted the friendship that started it but every you have!

Cute story, although I don’t like how it just abruptly ended. No further explanation of anything. I would have liked to read how things turned out for them and for the business.

A little chiche and not super realistic, but still a fun read. I read through it in a day. This is the kind of book you pick up for $1 at a used bookstore, and feel like you got your money's worth.

I was originally intrigued by the concept: heroine starts working for hero, they are opposites in many ways but attraction grows. I wasn't aware at the outset that this was originally published in 1992, but at the mention of a new VCR in the first chapter, I knew it wasn't modern. I don't know whether it was due to the author or the original time the story was written for, but I had a hard time connecting. Heroine was too weak, hero too controlling, and at the end there were several plot points left unanswered.

The Vow Series by Sherryl Woods. I love when authors bring out their backlist titles that they published before they were famous. I enjoyed spending time with the Halloran family and the poor guys, never knew what hit them! The series order is: Love, Honor, Cherish, Kate's Vow, A Daring Vow and A Vow to Love.

I normally really enjoy books written by Ms Woods, but this one didn't do much for me. It was a cute story that didn't click for me. I really felt like several important scenes where left out, especially regarding the evolution of Jason's feelings early on.

Wonderful story of love and never taking anything for granted. Jason and Dana's first meeting literally have fists flying. The animosity and chemistry just keeps getting more volatile until only the chemistry and .... love is left.

I just can’t get past all of the mistakes in this book. Did anyone proofread this before it got publish?
I mean one or two mistakes are fine through the whole book but 4 mistakes within the first 4 chapters is just unacceptable
