Four authors bring you four stories sure to light up your summer like fireworks on the 4th of July. Some are sweet, some are spicy, and all are a spanking good time.
When Dom and Heidi go camping, their D/s relationship is put to the test. How will their dynamic work while they're on vacation? Meredith and Paolo heat up the pages in their summer romp in Florida, where sex and spankings are as plentiful as the sand under the boardwalk. Cass and Killian, the Alaskan couple who are always good for a laugh, agree to be filmed for Cass's new show, but their relationship isn't quite normal according to the average American viewer. Finally, newly married Anna and Carter simmer in silent misunderstanding until sparks fly, giving one of them a warmed bottom and both a renewed love for each other.
The Perfect Memory by Maisy Archer Just months after falling for the sexy dominant next door, Heidi has learned that submission is about more than just spanking and hot sex. While she loves Dominic and the relationship they are building, she sometimes chafes under his authority. So when Dom surprises her with a weekend camping trip, it becomes more than just an opportunity to get out of town - for Heidi, it's also a vacation from the rules and a chance to recreate her happy childhood memories. But when everything that can go wrong does, and emotions run high, will Dom be able to step up and get things back under control? Or will memories be all they have left?
Under the Boardwalk by Jane Henry For the first time in years, Meredith and Paolo are going on vacation in sunny Orlando. With no work or commitments to keep them apart from one another, Paolo is bound and determined to keep Meredith on her toes, when she's not over his lap. He will have his way whenever he wants, and she's more than happy to oblige. As Paolo embarks on a secret mission to find the perfect souvenir, Meredith is curious. What is the perfect souvenir? Paolo is easily able to stay her curiosity with his wicked ways, distracting her with sexy sessions over his lap, and his insistent demands. Yet when unfortunate circumstances put Meredith in a precarious situation, Paolo is determined to remind her that even on vacation, naughty girls get spanked.
Brined by Susannah Shannon Nothing is hotter than Alaska on the Fourth of July, unless it's Cass's bottom if she can't control her temper. Cass Nelson is showing off her home and her party-throwing prowess in front of a TV crew. As if auditioning for a TV show isn't pressure enough, her recently separated parents have joined the festivities along with Hazel, her very happily, newly married mother-in-law. Berry shortcakes, breaching killer whales, and more than one kind of fireworks make an appearance, as do the humor and recipes that are always part of a Cass and Killian story.
The Firecracker by Amelia Smarts Married for less than six months, Anna is easing into her new role as Carter's wife and Paddy's mama. Anna wants to please Carter and be a good wife. She certainly doesn't want to be taken over her husband's knee for a sound, bare-bottom spanking for disobedience. But her behavior changes when she begins to doubt that Carter loves her as much as he loved his now-deceased first wife, and she decides obedience is not necessarily the best way to respond to her stubborn alpha husband. Tension burns, tempers flare, and a bottom is thoroughly warmed in this short story bursting with passion, persistence and, in the end, a new understanding of the healing power of love.
Maisy is an unabashed book nerd who has been in love with romance since reading her first Julie Garwood novel at the tender age of 12. After a decade as a technical writer, she finally made the leap into writing fiction several years ago and has never looked back. Like her other great loves - coffee, caramel, beach vacations, yoga pants, and her amazing family - her love of words has only continued to grow... in a manner inversely proportional to her love of exercise, house cleaning, and large social gatherings. She loves to hear from fellow romance lovers, and is always on the hunt for her next great read.
Each story will read well as a standalone and pick up from a series by the various authors. Whether it is a weekend getaway, vacation or holiday period, rules stay in place. This is four entirely new stories, all different but all work nicely in this short stories bundle and as an addition to their previous series. The first three stories are contemporary, and the fourth is historical.
The Perfect Memory by Maisy Archer YOU LISTEN TO ME. YOU OBEY ME. YOU BELONG TO ME. I enjoyed this fun story of Dom and Heidi and a camping trip that doesn’t turn out to be as pleasant as her childhood memories. I love how Dom helps center Heidi when she goes overboard with her ideas and how things were. When disaster strikes, he helps ground her because they are both happier when they stick to their roles and the rules. This story is a spin-off of My Dom but will read well as a standalone.
Under the Boardwalk by Jane Henry I ALWAYS MEAN WHAT I SAY It was nice to have a return to Meredith and Paolo as they take a vacation to Florida. Just because they go on vacation, the rules do not go away. No matter what, Paolo knows what it will take to help Meredith and keep her grounded. This story is a continuation from the Bound To You series, but this story reads well as a standalone.
Brined by Susannah Shannon FAMILY FOR THE FOURTH In this delightful story, we find ourselves back in Slicktrench, Alaska where Cass and Killian will be hosting a 4th of July celebration along with her family and the camera crew from White Gown Network out of Chicago. Cass is apprehensive with having both her parents, now that they have separated, but Killian plans on keeping her grounded and dishes up some OTK spankings before they even arrive. There are many laughing out loud moments. Once again, this is part of The Cass Chronicles Book series, but this story will read well as a standalone.
The Firecracker by Amelia Smarts MY ANGEL ARRIVED AFTER MY FIRECRACKER WENT AWAY The final story in this short story set takes place in the 1800s and picks up from Lone Star Love Book series. Carter and Anna have been married about six months now; Paddy has started calling her Mama, which is with mixed emotions since he forgets Nalin, his birth mother. What happens when Anna decides she wants to be more like Nalin and directly disobeys Carter? Each is different in her own particular way, and Carter would never want Anna to be like Nalin. The story will read well as a standalone and is a beautiful ending to this short story set.
Terrific stories of devoted couples and their domestic discipline lifestyles. Only drawback: all the stories are about couples from other books, so I occasionally felt like I missed out on some backstory. This is more like bonus scenes for other works than an independent book.
The Perfect Memory: I absolutely adored Heidi and Dom's story. It puts a focus on how structure in a D/s relationship. It also shows when you try to relax back into a casual relationship and give leeway it can offset the relationship. I can't wait to read more about Heidi and Dom.
Under The Boardwalk: Paolo and Meredith have a solid relationship. I love that Paolo is disabled and we are able to see the structure of a D/s relationship when the Dom is wheel chair bound. Rest assured Paolo still has a firm hand.
Brined: Cass absolutely made my day with her spirit and attitude. There were moments where you could tell she had enough but kept pushing through especially with Killian's firm hand to keep her in line.
The Fire Cracker: Anna and Carter are still finding their way into there newly formed marriage. It has been such a huge adjustment for both them especially because all Anna wants to do is be a good submissive wife. She wants to please Carter and be a strong momma to Paddy.
I absolutely loved all four of these stories. Each author brings their own flare to the story. There are delicious spankings and great story lines. Definitely a great collection.
This is a collection of four stories. Some are better than others. Over all the book is probably two and a half stars . The first story involves characters Dom and Heidi. I believe it is also the longest. I have no feeling either way for Heidi but I did not like Dom art all. He come off to me as an arrogant jerk. The second story is about Paolo and Meredith. They are on vacation and it is pretty much sex and spankings. The third one is about Killian and Cass . Evidently there is a whole series about these two. They were okay characters but I think it was the shortest story and I didn't connect with them . Perhaps I would have if I had read some of the books first. The last story Is set in the late 1800s. Anna is worried that her husband Carter does not love her as much as he did his first wife who died. His first wife had a lot of spirit and told him what she thought. Anna is more obedient and worries that he might not care for her as much. She decides to go against his wishes about buying certain fireworks and ends up getting spanked. And told he loves her just the way she is . It is a decent story ,
