Captivated: Stile After was the second book in Katherine King’s Stile duet. It was the continuation of Harley Stile and Kate Knight’s story.
Book two started exactly where the first book left off. The story was captivating and well written but just as in book one, I struggled with Kate. She was so cold and selfish, never letting Harley communicate, that I wanted her to grow a backbone or for Harley to find someone worthy of his love.
I struggle to write this review because the author did well and kudos to her for not writing a predictable storyline with what readers would want to see, but I didn’t like Kate and I didn’t like the direction of the storyline. My opinion is strictly personal preference. I desired more from Kate, more from Harley and more of the story where they were actually a couple. I should also state for my friends looking for safe, it wasn’t a safe read.
All in all, even if it wasn’t my favorite, it was well written, a story that will appeal to many and I look forward to seeing more from this author.
I read Stile: Before and really liked the story. I loved, adored, Harley and thought he was pretty close to the perfect man. I was excited to read this book, and even stalked the author.
I was so disappointed. I could literally rant about everything wrong but I would be here all day, so I am going to address what I hated most. Kate.
I don't understand how a woman could love a man, have said man cater to her every need, want to provide everything for her (while letting her be her own woman). Love her, listen to her, sex her up on the regular, but nah, Kate can't love him because he might one day hurt her. Never mind the hurt that being without him caused her everyday.
Kate goes on to have his baby, while deciding she can't be with him because of his lifestyle. She finds a boyfriend, gets engaged and all but marries him.
This was push and pull, push and pull, back and forth, back and forth that I wanted to DNF when I saw the direction of this book. I continued to read because I could not believe the author went this way.
Harley was an incredible character and he deserved a woman who at least knew what she wanted. There was nothing redeemable about Kate. She was annoying and at the end of the book I thought he deserved more. He deserved a woman who loved him for who he was, that includes his lifestyle. Kate was not for him.
And that ending, we go an ENTIRE book with Harley and Kate not being together, except a couple of "hook-ups" and then when he chases her once again, she decides to be with him and IT. JUST. ENDS.,
So disappointed, but buy the book and decide for yourself!!! My rant is over......

I hope this is the right book, the one I read was a totally different cover??! A tattoo guy on the front? I found the first book in the series on Amazon for free & this was 3.99, I think it was … I understand why they were 2 books but glad I didn't have to pay for both books … hope that make sense. I love the characters … wanted an HEA … but??! wow wee … glad to find a new author. quick fun read. ( :
I loved it. I was glued to it from the very beginning. At some points, I had knots in my stomach and tears in my eyes because of all the rollercoasters they went through. This series sucks you in and it is impossible not to fall in love with Kate and Harley.
Captivated: Stile After by Katherine King Kate’s life has been turned upside down. She has nothing left and her dreams have been shattered. Harley is devastated that Kate wants nothing to do with him. He also realises that the only way he can be good to her, is to do what she has asked him to do. Let her go. He tries to move on but he knows, he will never love anybody the way he loves her. When Kate decides to contact Harley she did not realise how difficult that would be. When they finally meet it is not a happy reunion. The two decided to move forward as friends but can that ever be when both are in love with one another? Their stubbornness and miscommunication seemed to be the biggest problem. There was a lot of push and pull and the angst was emotional. This was a real rollercoaster of a story full of emotional upheaval. I thought Kate was a bit immature at times and I felt like Harley needed to be more firm with her. There were times I felt gutted and wondered if these two could ever get their HEA. Overall this series is really good and I would definitely recommend it. This book was like watching a car accident. You know you should look away but no matter how hard you try you just can't. In the end you know you should've look away. The truth is that I am so very torn. I both loved and hated it. There was so much sadness in this book it just depressed me. There were so many ups and downs I had whiplash. This second book was absolutely unnecessary. Ms King could've made one book and cut back on a lot of the back and forth!!! I would recommend to her to go back and rework the book into one. Cut out 80% of the angst and keep the basic story line. Otherwise this book will never go far, as I see it hasn't. This is just my opinion, but I do believe this series has the potential to be a great book if reworked.
At home, scrolling through my email and this author pops up with a freebie of Captivated book one. Figure I’m home sick might as well enjoy a book. I started reading it and next thing you know I am completely lost to the story. Here is a girl who is out of college working a 9-5 job trying to make her way in the world. Then out of the blue sexy rock star sees her at a concert and wants to meet her. She turns him down and goes on living her life. Not knowing this rock star has initiated the ultimate challenge. Let the chase begin. The entire story had me happy, frustrated, angry, sad, livid, and then it would start all over again. Kate and Harley had ME in twisted up in knots wondering will these finally get it together or not.
I have to admit Stiles stole my heart in the first book and in the second book Kate redeemed herself. Well she did after making me want to reach out and touch her a few times. Although by the end of the book I kinda understood her this author made me have to work really hard to see her side. Stiles bless his heart, stuck between a rock and a hard place the author made us feel every emotion he did. . . every single time. The love is palpable but what do you do when life just makes it so doggone hard.
This author treads a fine line with this book with Kate and it works. The emotional journey of this couple wasn't easy to read but man was it good reading. I am happy to say this wasn't your normal rock star romance and I am glad.
Both Captivated books are a must read! This story captured my heart, my mind, and my soul. King has given us believable characters that have normal struggles balancing careers, love life and family.
Kate is a strong willed woman who finds it difficult to have faith. I found myself wanting to smack so sense into her. She needs to learn how to listen instead of talking or running away.
Harley is a rock star who has interesting values. With all the rock star lifestyle challenges, he manages to find love. His struggle to fulfill his dreams while filling his heart made me cry.
I wanted to really like this book, but KATE got on my nerves, I thought she was selfish and hurt more people than Harley, he should’ve just moved on, if she didn’t want to be with him and wanted to move on why didn’t she just let Harley buy her a place o live and have her business away from him? She was just using the ‘I don’t want him but don’t want anyone else to o have him!’ And then the decision she came to at the end!!! What was the point!!! Liked the idea of the story but KATE was annoying
Book one sucked me in and under…Book two drowned me!
I needed to take a moment, you know the ones. The ones where you are SO deep in, you feel it’s real? I was in it with Harley, waiting and breaking each an every time she walked away.
I was dying inside. I put it away and adulted for a few days… then I was ALL IN
Holy smokes was this a roller coaster ride or what!
Loved LOVED LOVED it. My bed has snotty tissues all over it and it’s 1am in the morning.
Omg, I almost died from a heart attack. These two were killing me with their stubbornness. "Oh, he doesn't love me. He's always gonna doubt me". "oh, how much I love her, but she doesn't want me. I'm not good enough for her". And all this bul***it THE ENTIRE BOOK!!! I wanted to strangle them sometimes. Thank God for the happy ending, otherwise I would be really frustrated right now. Overall, the series is really good and I recommend it.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat the twists and turns just keep coming. This continuing story draws you in and leaves you clinging to the hope that true love will win out in the end. Harley and Kate are meant for each other, her fear holds her back he loves her enough to respect her space. Will the love for their child bridge the gap between them?...
Very hard to put book one and two down! This is such a heart wrenching love story. Kate is so strong but also so heart broken. Harley is the same. Thank goodness Caitlyn keeps that thread of connection between them. This is probably the most heart wrenching story I have ever read
After reading book one I was given no choice but to read book two. I think I went through an entire box of Kleenex following the exploits of these two love denied characters. And I'm so glad I did! Happy it ended well, but man, what a trip!
Wow just wow I couldn't put the first in the series down and was glad I already owned this one read it straight through. Was having fits DON'T want tp spoil it for anyone else.
I am so amazed by this series. I really enjoyed reading them. I read both books in a day. It was exciting, heart breaking, and romantic. I loved it!! I will be looking for all of Katherine King's books!!! A must read people!!!
More of the same from book 1. The bi#!h is still her selfish and immature self. Harley is still running after her. Full of missed opportunities because they don't communicate. And it just goes on. Not my type of book.
I loved how this book ended. The struggles was better than the first book which makes for a very believable story. I especially love the way this story ended.
Just as amazing as the first book and I am so happy it wrapped everything up so nicely. I definitely recommend giving this series a shot, you won't be disappointed.
