Yes I read all 3 books but why? Jamie is a doormat and only half way finds a backbone. I cannot stand a woman that lives in insecurities and lets people just walk all over her.

Reading this box set was a personal test of endurance--to see if I had the discipline to read a story through to ending when I disliked both H/h. Jamie, especially, was such a doormat that I just couldn't relate--even by book three when she was written as having "found herself".

Great series box set 1-3

What a great box set. Sooooo glad the books are together. Makes it a lot easier to stay evolved and want to read more. I completed this box set in 2 days. I didn't want to put it down. I do plan on buying the next box set.
Overview: Jamie was in a bad spot. She was at her sister engagement party. Most people would be fine with that, but not her. Her ex-boyfriend was marring her younger, thinner, sister. So she lost her man, berated by her weight by everyone (family, and ex), lost her apartment, and her job. She decides she needs a quick break. While in the bathroom, she over heard her ex/future brother in law telling a friend to hire her as his assistant that she wouldn't be a distraction because she was fat and ugly. The guy (Alex) offered her an interview. Alex is amazed by Jamie's resume. But once Jamie is hired, Alex can not keep from bragging about her as well as being attracted to her. But Jamie is changing as she grows with her new job and putting her needs before her families needs. Alex becomes a continues supporter as learning to love again.

I was in serious need of a quick read and steamy romances seem to be those one sitting kind of reads for me. That said, this actually took me two days, but that's neither here nor there.

Personally, the three books could have been put together into one book (which is technically what I did), but they are available separately. The first book ended on a note that was a clear cliffhanger. It just kind of ended and you needed to read the second one to get a full idea. The third book was more like a sequel to the future stories.

Okay, so, I did like how Alex is portrayed. He is marketed as a "bad boy", but I didn't really see that. I saw a workaholic sweetie pie, to be honest. I love the little things he did when Jamie was concerned and it made him a decent book boyfriend. As for Jamie, I could live with less insecurity.

It makes sense to have a lead with an insecurity, but there are so many women who are insecure with their family and body. I just, would have liked a woman who was more comfortable in their skin. That said, Jamie does change. She does begin to love herself and gain a confidence that was amazing.

It did return on the third book, but I could deal with it. In all, the books were decent. They served my need for a fluffy read and I did like the characters. Do I want to read more? Not sure. Maybe.

I give this book a 3/5 star.

Functioning Dysfunction

Holy cannoli! Talk about your dysfunctional families and HOT man! So glad I grabbed books one through three in this set. It made the story constantly move and my nerves all over the place.

In book one we meet Jamie whose boyfriend dumps her for her sister, they're engaged and Jamie is forced to be in the wedding. Her family is all sorts of screwed up and she is their doormat. Jamie starts a new job, her boss is drop dead gorgeous and she must juggle the long hours of her job with her Godzilla bride sister.

In book two, Jamie's relationship with her boss is always hush hush. She can't talk with anyone about it and he doesn't want it made public. In this book we finally see Jamie tell off her bitchy sister and pull out of the wedding party. Everything is discombobulated and up in the air.

In book three, it seems as though HEA is in Jamie's horizon. Unfortunately, Alex is so wishy washy you just want to slap him in the head and tell him to wake up and smell the coffee beans!

Looking forward to reading the rest of the series~

Very Nice

4 stars

I love this author so so much. Each book gets a bit better but not over the top. This author brings you to the brink in each book and then hauls you back. The taunting was a bit too much for me.

These books each have an awesome continued story which the author goes into flawlessly. The seduction is top notch.

Get your frustration towel you will need it,

Since the series is not done yet my 4 stars for these 3 will stand till the very last book.

Awesome

Can I get some pancakes after reading this please?

Happy Reading

The first book was a cute romance and the main character was a bit weak but relatable. Her family is awful and her prince charming boss comes to save her. By the end it was all smut and constant whining. It ended up being a terrible relationship where she constantly felt bad and the only good thing between them was sex. I was also not a fan of the use of the word rape in regards to the main character and her boss/boyfriend in the 3rd book, it was entirely inappropriate. Overall I was not impressed.

Great Love Story

Although I didn't like how Jamie's family treated her in the first book, I loved when she finally got a back bone and told her sister off. I could feel the love and passion between her and Alex. I would recommend this series as a must read for anyone that like love stories.

Love it!!!!

I am really enjoying this series and I am ecstatic to know that there are like 7-8 more books. Alex and jaime have had some real knocks and bumps in their relationship but the love and chemistry they have somehow counteracts it all. Can't wait to continue the series. This is one that's worth following so far!

Five-star rating for this. Series of stories . As suggested it is almost a cliffhanger, but done expertly. Good reading though a bit explicit in sexual description.

The Boss #1
Why poor Jamie puts up with her family is beyond me. Her ex-Stephen leaves her once he meets her younger thinner sister Christine, and now they’re getting married.
James’s parent is too self-absorbed as well as to into spoiling the baby of the family, Christine that they don’t see Jamie anymore. Now, it’s all about Christine’s wedding. How, when, where, and how fast Jamie can get it all done. Because, knowing she is good at what she does but would never admit it, she’s now maid of honor.
Basically, her sister's free labor/wedding planner. Christine’s whipping girl. Because she has no job and she’s living in her parent's basement. Now, more so than usual then are hounding her about her weight.
At an engagement dinner, Stephine of all people introduces her to Alex Reid a self-made multi-millionaire. He needs a PA. No, wanting someone gorgeous for fear of needing to work. Not happy when he knows that Stephan has let it be known he was getting her a chance on her on being ugly.
But when Alex hires her, she is better than he ever imagined. But when people start rumors, she becomes uncomfortable and in turn, tells him making him uncomfortable. The whole time her own family verbally abusing her.

The Boss Too #2
With her sister getting married and her family putting her on an imposed diet. She is made to be Christine goffer and workhorse on top of sixty-hour weeks working. Eating is not a priority. Exercise becomes one.
With a private gym right next door she is losing weight left and right. Yet, her thing into being about them. Even her birthday. But Alex shows up and treats them to the dinner wishing her a happy birthday and leaving. Several other moments just like this.
When his brother appears for a second time to talk to Jamie, she is curious. She listens to him tell her that Alex’s father is ill. Asks for her to talk to him. They both fly there. They both go but when something happens making Alex uncomfortable, he sends her packing.
Although, she is what he could ever want in a woman. Commitment eludes him. There is a sexual mind game he seems to be playing and Jamie no longer wishes to engage in the game. Steeling her backbone, she speaks her well-empowered voice and tells him so.
I give this: 5 stars

Who’s The Boss Now #3
What can you do when the man you love is afraid to commit? But wants you in his life and doesn’t want you with anyone else? If your Jamie many different things.
You show them what he will be missing if he lets you go. What other men will benefit from getting if he chooses to act a fool. Or you flat out tell him fine you do understand what it means by taking a break? I can date and be with whoever I want to be with, Right? As in F—K?
All of a sudden not what he was talking about. Now, both Jamie and Alex are to blame for their roller-coaster relationship. To me Jamie allowed Alex to treat her like a doormat. Not setting down clear cut rules to their relationship of what they both want and need.
The second time he would have denied our relationship he would have been kicking rocks. She was his F—king buddy, plain and simple. What happens to Nathen once they left that luncheon? And who put Annette up to the who scare that put Jamie and Alex in hell?
I give this: 4 stars.

Overall, I give the book a 5-star rating. I really got into the characters. I liked that this set came in a box set it would have not been that good if I had to have bought it by the piece, I would have been good at the first book. Free on Amazon. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.

I was hoping for more from this series. I read the first book and found it intriguing and sweet (hence the two stars and not one) but the family aspects were frustrating and I continued with the hope that the heroine would put them in their place. this didn't happen. Even the romance didn't fulfill its promise, in my opinion.

The heroine was a weakling. She took the nasty abuse from all of her family and didn't once reprimand them unless it was in an angry, emotional outburst (which didn't happen often). She lost the weight they wanted her to lose so it felt like she gave in and made changes because of them - I would've preferred if she'd stayed the same weight the whole way through to make a point. Her father had to be told/forced to spend time with her, yet that seemed like some kind of joke that made him lovable, even though he never stood up for her against her mother or even her sister (which should be his job as a parent). Then, instead of putting her mother and sister in their place, THEY suddenly turned into decent people able to have a conversation with her without accusing or abusing her?! Completely unsatisfying and a cop-out.

Regarding the romance, it started off promising but really, if I look at all the things that happened without the annoying inner dialogue, the heroine let the 'hero' use her - constantly sleeping with her and then telling her it won't work. And she falls for it every. single. time. Even when she confronts him, she ends up telling him she loves him, when he doesn't say anything of the sort to her. Nothing even near it. Egh! Not the kind of women I enjoy reading about. This might've come across better if there were chapters from the hero's POV but there aren't.

Didn't bother with the third book. I started it but when she said she considers sex as part of her core needs, I just thought... oh really? So where was that sentiment in the first and second book?

Not going to seek out anything from this author.

Kindle Unlimited: No
Stand-alone: Yes
Author: Lexy Timms
Rating: 3/5 ⭐️
Spiciness Rating: 3/5 🌶
POV: First Person Dual Perspective
Main Couple: Jamie and Alex
Trope(s): Workplace

Clearing out my kindle. I downloaded the boxset for free. It is an amazing way to find new authors. I read this set a while ago, but have not done a review for them. These are short novellas blended into one box set. Lexy takes her time developing the characters, giving us detail and letting the storyline unfold. There is quite a bit of back and forth between Jamie and Alex, but this is spread out amongst the 3 novellas. This is a quick and easy read. The smexy does heat up slowly. The second novella picks up the angst. The push and pull of Jamie and Alex’s “relationship”. Learning about Alex’s past and family. And Jamie calling Alex out on his bullshit. The third has them navigating both their personal and work relationship. Jamie earning more responsibility in Alex’s business. Mending her relationship with her family. This is an easy going read. It’s about the trials and tribulations of falling in love and navigating relationships.

Jamie’s ex has left her for her sister. She has moved back in with her parents. She quit her job because her ex was her boss’ son. Oh, and her sister is expecting her to help plan their wedding. Life is pretty not so good right now.

Alex Reid is looking for a PA and apparently Jamie is just plain enough to fit the bill.

And, it gets her out of her parent’s house- because it includes an apartment.

Unfortunately, her sister is the ultimate bridezilla. And, her parent’s are just as selfish.

Alex slowly becomes her biggest champion. Despite their mutual attraction Jamie is not looking for no strings and it is all Alex could offer her out of the office.

But, Jamie is learning to put herself first. Including standing up to her family.

Listened to the audiobooks of this title:

1 The Boss

A girl with a little extra pounds, dropped by her boyfriend, who promptly gets engaged to her young skinny sister, shouldn't have to be ridiculed by that same boyfriend to a friend.
However, that chance encounter just happened acquaint Alex Reid and Jamie, which ends up changing Jamie's life.
A wonderful read.
2: The Boss Too

The job Jamie Connors has with Billionaire, Alex Reid isn't an easy one, but she battles to keep things professional.
Hard, when you are attracted to the boss. Harder still when things get out of hand between the two of them. She loves the freedom her job gives her, she struggles vainly to keep it professional.

3:Whose the boss Now?

Jamie steps up to the mark, when Alex Reid drops the ball, figuratively speaking in the case of his company and their relationship.
Sometimes the woman has show whose the boss in a couple, especially when outside influence seems to be tearing them apart.

Still Intriguing

I first thought this book was going to be three separate stories, but as the first story finished you soon realize that this is a three part story about the gorgeous young wealthy billionaire known as Alex Reid and his PA , Jamie. How she gets her job is, her ex boyfriend Stephen recommends her to Alex at his and her sister Christine's engagement party. She is ridiculed by her sister and her mother about her weight. Her so sister expects her to fit into a size 6 dress to be her sister's maid of honor. So they call theirselves trying to help her lose weight. They are actually mean to her. Her sister is marrying her ex boyfriend but they insist on putting Jamie down. That's the back story. Jamie gets the job as Alex's PA and moves into this apartment which is attached to his house and the story begins. You should read this story it's a Good Read

I’m reviewing the audio edition. I’m so glad I got at least these three stories at once. I don’t do waiting well and the story is continuous. I didn’t know when I started that the story and books may never end. Book 15, 16 and 17 appear to be about Alex’s brother Mark. Then book 18 thru 20 appear to be about Jamie and Alex. I wanted to listen to this when I read the blurb for this box set and it is good. Jamie and Mark have issues from the beginning and they are not resolved by the end of book 3. This is really setting the story up to find out is Alex can commit and will Jamie get over her mindset of her appearance. Jamie’s family make for interesting issues that add to everything. Alex’s family also shows how perception can cause so much to a person’s makeup. The story flows right along. The main characters are likable. The Narrator, Hannah Pralle does a great job at making the story enjoyable. I received a free copy and this is a voluntary review.

This box set was so captivating, I had a hard time putting it down.
Jamie Conners is the oldest daughter in her bipolar family. Her mother and sister are first class bitches, and her father doesn’t have a backbone. Jamie’s ex boyfriend is now engaged to her little sister and life is hell has she is forced to help with the wedding, and she’s being forced to stay on a diet that she hates.
Alex Reid is looking for a personal assistant and Jamie is referred to him and he hires her on the spot.
When Jamie gets the job she’s so overwhelmed that it comes with an apartment. She moves out of her parents house that same evening.
Working for Alex is going to be hard for Jamie, because she’s already attracted to him, she can’t stop thinking about him.
This box set takes you through Jamie and Alex working closely together and also getting to know one another on a personal level.
It’s a long series but I’m sure it’s going to be worth reading. I’m on to book number 4.

One of the best books I’ve read!!

Literally one of the best books I’ve ever read! I enjoyed every second of it without a doubt. I loved how I never got bored reading the 3 books, usually because it’s harder for authors to keep the consistency in the other book. I feel you pulled it off perfectly. I enjoyed the conflict in the book and the ups and down in the relationship nothing came easy and there was a fairy tale ending. I was happy that it gave real life situations and it kinda taught a lesson about your weight doesn’t matter in any relationship and how much someone cares for you. The right person will love you for you. There was just so many amazing aspects of this book I will definitely recommend it to my friends and encourage other readers to read it also. I wish you the best of luck in the future and hope you sell out in your books!!!!

Sexy And So Realistic!

This book is so sexy and realistic sorry to the next reader but I'm going to spill so many spoilers in this review I loved the relationship between Jamie and Alex the way Jamie always was there for Alex even when he was a butthead with his ever changing mood swings and how she supported him with his relationship with his brother and him being the totally jealous boyfriend thinking there was something going on with him a typical man move when he's crazy about a woman so every man she talks to she must like lol and then just when things get really good between her and Alex comes the jealous conniving ex gf claiming she's pregnant trying to destroy a good thing, I love how relatable and realistic this book is and I fell in love with every turning page can't wait to read her next series!!

Didn't like the ending

Good story! Lexy Timms did an excellent job working with female body image. Sadly with today's idea of what's beautiful, so many women put their health and lives in danger. A size 12 is not obese! A size 4 on the wrong person is anorexic. People judging and name calling aren't helping matters and in fact part of the problem. Jamie was a great character and easily related to. Overall quality of writing and proofreading were good. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy next step. The ending really could have been better. Do Jamie and Alex develop and get their happy ever after? Does Jamie's parents iron their wrinkles? Does Jamie's sister set her husband straight and get a happy ever after or does she kick him to the curb? Another chapter is needed to bring this story to a complete story.

Geez it's like a 10 book series

It's ok.
The weight obsession got old very fast. Considering she basically lost the weight half way through the first book, is amazing that it kept getting brought up for all three.
Her family is horrible. Maybe some improvement by the third book but, my guess is that it will revert back. Unless it really was the 30 extra pounds that made them treat her like crap. . .?
His family is similar but he keeps his distance, a much saner idea.
Jealously bothers me, but it makes controversy in stories, romances in particular, so i guess it needs to be there.
The sexy times start out hot and heavy, then POOF, it's tomorrow.
Overall the characters are well developed and the editing is pretty good. The books are short and don't end on a hard cliff hanger, but they're definitely " that was today and we have a thing planned for tomorrow" endings.
