Frankie and his friends are spending Christmas in Austria with his pen pal Heidi. He is excited to learn how to ski, even if it's not quite the same as playing football.

Read aloud to my son. He loves these Frankie books, he loves football and Frank Lampard is his all time hero (apart from me obviously). However this series is really pretty awful and I have to ham it up massively when reading aloud to overcome the boredom. The stories are unimaginative, the characters are flat and the black and white anime style illustrations uninspiring. In addition the binding is poor quality yet the books are not cheap to buy. Suitable for football mad, Frank Lampard adoring kids. May help to get a football mad child into reading.
