Just as vividly as Comics convey the feats of superheroes, ‘Comics for Change’ will also leverage the power of visual storytelling to amplify awareness amongst children and youths about Sustainable Development Goals pertaining to Climate action.

Under the aegis of ‘Comics for Change’ initiative, ‘Sundarvan Adventures’ -Mystery of the missing water is the first comic to be published in this series. ‘Sundarvan Adventures’ tells the story of a fun loving, energetic school going Rabbit-Adi along with his adventurous set of friends including a jovial little Parrot-Cheenu, a pretty little Doe-Roli and an intelligent Tortoise–Golu who saves the day for the villagers of Sundarvan from the villainous acts of Paplu Bhai–a notorious Jackal towards Water Wastage.

Being signatory to UN Global Compact Network, Dainik Bhaskar Group’s CSR initiatives also contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals of Quality Education, Zero Hunger, Clean Water and Sanitation, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action. In this regard, ‘Comics for Change is an innovative initiative towards bringing about attitudinal change by creating super heroes of tomorrow.

Abhijeet Kini, founder of Abhijeet Kini Studios, is a Mumbai based illustrator, animator and independent comics publisher, known for his comic series and IPs such as "Angry Maushi", "Bombay Rhymes" and "Fanboys". Winner of the Best Illustrator Awards Bronze (2018 and 2019) at the Comic Con India awards and Animationxpress CBAM awards (2021), Abhijeet has been a regular participant in all the Indian comic cons and has also participated in international editions. Having illustrated for magazines and newspapers for over 2 decades, he has been a regular illustrator with Tinkle comics since 2004. His notable works in Tinkle include Defective Detectives, Superweirdos among others. Abhijeet illustrates the Butterfingers book series for Penguin India. Abhijeet Kini Studios provide creative services such as comic design/production, merchandising, social media content, etc for various brands. Abhijeet has been conducting workshops across all age groups on ideation, creative writing and drawing and comic making and is also a visiting faculty at leading colleges. He has conducted comic-making and art and ideation based workshops and courses for schools all over the country.
