By all accounts I should have loved this book. I'd been waiting a long time to procure a copy.

I was a little disappointed if I'm honest. Though Greenler tries to make this "layman proof", there is a lot of talk of mathematics, angles and calculations. The colour photographs are great but I feel there could have been more, many photos were black and white plates with limited visibility.

The whole thing just felt a little too scientific and clinical for me, thereby reducing my reading enjoyment.

Not to worry.

When you just want to relax and lose yourself in the beauty of nature, this is a great book to bring the rainbows indoors.
