All Katie wanted was a fresh start. TerraMates was supposed to provide Katie with a life on a new world and an opportunity with an alien husband. She had everything planned except for the assault on the TerraMates shuttle and her abduction. Now she's all alone, surrounded by a violent alien race hell-bent on invading Earth. Her only hope is a threatening alpha military hero. Are they soulmates? Can an Earth girl's destiny be intertwined with an alien? This story takes place in the TerraMates universe, but can be read as a standalone novel.
I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I just... I want to say the writing is great as usual. When I'd initially stumbled upon this author I was very pleased. The story though...
Troxeo is tasked with kidnapping a human from a set of mail order brides going to a nearby planet - Bonan. For me, this was a case of the male protagonist just being too hard. Katie hits her head as he's taking her away, the sound is described as a 'crunch,' and he's unconcerned. He brings her back and drops her on the floor.
He is unemotional with her and unmoved by anything about her. I couldn't identify with or swoon for him. His job was so important to him that he strips her in front of a guard and leaves her to rot in a prison in a section known for torture. His inner turmoil as he is safe in his bed is unbelievable because he's just left her there with the possibility that a guard could rape her or torture her while he's away.
The worst part is when he is preparing to torture her and end her life because his superior has commanded it. He's sitting, sharpening knives and unrepentantly considering this even though he suspects she's his soulmate.
I wouldn't want to be such a man's soulmate if he could do such things regardless.
Lastly, I don't feel that there was enough of the book dedicated to redeeming his character. Just having sex does not discount how he handed her over and stripped her in front of another man. How he was prepared to kill her just because he was told. He suddenly knows for certain that she is his eleste and I didn't feel happy for them. I felt he didn't deserve her after all he'd done. I felt her emotions didn't go naturally because what had he done to make her fall for him really?
Well I've lost count on which book I'm on but I've given up hope this author will get better I managed to finish this book in a couple hours mainly because I scanned through a good bit of it mostly the parts that would probably bore me to tears...I will sum this book up for you in as few words as possible Katie' s boyfriend cheats on her she signs up for TerraMates program on her way to new planet is abducted by Tex or whatever his name was she's thrown in prison about to be executed because their ruler is so stupid he wanted Intel on the government but didn't want a human that was too smart???? Anyways Katie gets rescued by the doc and Tex cousin she's under the impression she's going back to earth but no such luck, cuz plans on getting his jollys with Katie so he dumps the doc and heads off to an abandoned family house and is right in the middle of almost Raping Katie when Tex plows through the door and kicks his butt takes Katie back to his ship and tells her he will take her back to Earth she ends up having sex with him and now she's in love with him begs him not to take her back and they run away together the end. That's all folks I swear there is nothing special at all about this book and what really kills me there is no romance in any of the books the leading lady and the guy pretty much always hate each other for the better half of the book until they get in between the sheets and then they're blissfully in love *Gag* If that's your type of book by all means go right ahead I like a little more depth to my stories....and one last thing How in the hell is TerraMates program still open for business with all the people that have been abducted even killed??? The previous book I read where the Heroine's space shuttle was attacked they had several women died in that accident and then more were abducted and tortured yeah it all ended well for the survivors in the end but still makes you think when will I read the book where people are pissed at TerraMates for all the women leaving or killing them off LoL
Good, but not as good as the previous stories. This one just wasn't as interesting. It didn't have as much excitement and the two main characters didn't really spend too much time together. Their relationship did not have any time to build or develop. It was a very blank, for lack of a better word. Meaning, there wasn't much to it. The two main characters meet when he kidnaps her and takes her to his home world where he hands off to his superiors. He didn't spend too much time with her on his ship on the way there, nor did he spend much time with her after they arrived. Then she's taken by another male forcing the main male to have to rescue her. He retrieves her and decides to take her back to earth. Troxio, don't know if that's spelled right, and Katie spend a bit of time together on the ship this time, but not much, before they get together physically. Immediately after they decide they want to stay together. It just felt like the author tried to develop the story in the beginning, but then ran out of steam half way through the story and rushed the ending. I'm going to continue the series, but I'm a bit hesitant. I'm hoping the next story is better.
I have to admit that I am sorry to see in which direction the Earth is going, at least in terms of overcrowding and pollution, but it is easily possible in our reality, so it is not hard to imagine. Things have changed a lot since those first mail order brides… A very funny moment when Troxeo kidnaps her and it is her because everyone else is screaming hysterically! Too good! I think every man would do something like that in that situation he he he! I find a little bit stupid logic of his commander, why he needs an ordinary woman and then go crazy because she knows nothing… I must admit that so far in relation to all previous heroes, their relationship was the worst, it never sat down good to me, and the whole situation with a cousin and in general the way men treat weaker women… I don't really like it, somehow so far they have been, let say, more sympathetic in this regard, although some women have been loud and mouthy… All in all, not as good as the last book, but if you’re reading this series and this author, it’s something you can expect from her!
Katie has resigned herself to being a mail order bride after her last relationship imploded. But on her way to her match her ship is boarded by a warrior from another planet and she is kidnapped!
Troxio obeys orders as a Warrior should, even though he is at a loss as to what his Commander wants with a human. He is very aloof towards Katie and you just don't know where you are with the stupid man sometimes! Protective and possessive interspersed with aloof and icy. He is a total contradiction!
This wasn't my favourite book in the series so far, not sure why, might be because Katie and Troxio relationship didn't actually gel until the end of the book. Troxio was harder to love than some of the other males and this stopped it from claiming a 5th star.
Certainly won't put me off reading the next book in the series.
Katie has always had a fascination with aliens. When her heart is broken she accepts TerraMates call for brides and escapes to a new life on the planet of Bonaan. While on her journey her ship is boarded and she is kidnapped by a soldier from Oretoz. They want a normal human so that they can get information about Earth but Katie is just an average citizen and has no information to share. Troxeo, the alien warrior who captured her realized from the moment he met het that there was nothing average about her and she makes him feel things, things that as the good little soldier he is, he has never felt before. After an extremely scary entrance into this new alien world will Katie learn to love her captor?
This book was great but there are so many unanswered questions. loss ends that were not tied up. I think it needed a few more chapters but I really did enjoy it.
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Lisa Lace has to be one creative author. I have listened to all the previous 9 books and each one is different from the others. Where she comes up with these ideas is amazing. I enjoyed the characters, Katie and Troxio, as well as the story. The thriller part of this story wasn't as good as some of the other books, but it still sped up my heart in some places and gave me anxiety. That's how I can tell it is a good book. The romance was very short. It didn't happen until very late in the book, but you knew it was coming. The narrator did a good job with the different characters. Always look forward to Lisa's stories. Keep up the good work.
I really can't get enough of this series. I'm sure if I went back through my reviews of this series every review would start with the words "My favorite" and while that statement wouldn't be a lie, it is getting redundant. This is one of the few series that I can honestly say is OK to read in any order. Each story is a complete stand alone and you won't feel lost no matter which book you pick up first. I am a huge fan of Lisa Lace's writing style. She builds wonderfully developed worlds and characters that you care about from the start, and this is no exception. This one is about Katie and it is filled with exciting twists and turns, all-over-the-place-emotions, and tons of sexiness. I got lost in the pages and didn't want it to end.
I really like this author and series but I had issues with this installment. Ms. Lace' writing is great as always. The descriptions make it easy to "see" the scenes in my mind. It's the characters themselves that gave me problems. At the beginning of the story, Katie decides to run from her problems instead of facing them. Running just causes Katie more problems. Then there is Troxeo..not a "hero" in my eyes. Yes he redeems himself in the end but I still don't "like" him. I think it is the scene with knives I can't get past.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
As a willing Human Mail-Order bride, Katie quickly becomes a kidnapped prisoner of a different Alien race. Troxeo was only following his commander's orders to bring him a human for interrogations when he kidnapped Katie from the transport. Although the attraction had an opportunity to be instant, that is not how the story is written. There's a lot of action and it's more of a slow-burn with a flash steam at the end instead of a steady build. Terrence Bayes narrated the audiobook and was a redeeming quality for this story.
it was pretty confusing at first, I really didn't knew who to trust at the beginning Traxio was well a good soldier but at first it didn't look like lover material, on the other hand Arcon seemed just that until later. I wonder what happened to Chikso maybe Arcon did killed her? he said she was stunned soo who knows, and the ending was pretty sweet I was wondering when Traxio was going to do something at all, but it did end well for them both.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it
Another great read by Lisa Lace, Troxeo is sent to retrieve a human so his planet can investigate earth to see whether it's feasible to attack earth, he gets Katie and a whole lot more tan he bargained for
A great alien romantic read, I thoroughly enjoyed this book
I swear every time I read a new Terramates book I have a new favorite! I still am amazed that Ms. Lace can tell a tale that is like no other in the series. You NEVER feel like you are reading the same book, but with different character names. I've enjoyed reading each and every one. I'm looking forward to the next one!
TerraMates match you to your mate. In this one she is kidnapped by her true mate, but instead he wants to be a great officer and throws her into prison.. Read to find out out the truth of what they are to each other is unfolded
I didn't care for this Terramates as much as the others I have read so far. Troxeo was just a jerk and seemed for concerned for himself and his status than anything else. Katie felt weak to me. Just taking everything that everyone dished out to her. I liked the storyline, but the characters were mot my favorite in this one.
The story wasn't too bad. Had some good ideas. I just wished they had developed more of a relationship like the other couples in the other books. Besides what kind of man would give the girl he was interested in to a crazy old man. You could tell he had nothing good planned for her.
I wanted to find out what happened to Chixo. It never mentioned her again after her abrupt departure from a hopper ship. I liked her and she should have been found before making it to the fortress and something needs to be done about the corrupt government running the unsolicited planet. I'm sorry, the basic storyline was good but the surrounding storyline is incomplete. It's like your following the main characters but the underline story is more interesting and then you're back to the main storyline and the background story is forgotten. I would like at least one story with the background storyline fully completed and tied in to the main storyline flawlessly. Or you end up with just an incomplete story and questions about what happens to the other beings that were a crucial part of the basic storyline. Ok enough of me nashing on this, it was a good story I liked Katie but she seemed to much like a damsel in distress. The heroin in this series wasn't Troxeo, it was the female Chixo. She was more compassionate than Troxeo. He was more of a robot until she was hurt by his cousin and then decided to act. He's the one that was mean to Katie to begin with and treated her as a prisoner from minute one and then did a 180° in the last 5 minutes of the book. And everything is A okay. Not my favorite book. I liked Chixo. She was fun to deal with. Her humor about the human body is just pervy enough to be funny and wild enough to be believable. She was one of my favorite characters also Arkhan was a cool character and then he also did a 180° at the last 5% of the book into a not so cool person it's like each character had a personality switch and it was rushed to end the way it did. Instead of coming to it naturally. I honestly thought that Arkhan was more of a fun guy who would be somewhat pushy but still take no for an answer. He seemed more interested in having something meaningful than Troxeo did so he would be more of a modern day Casanova interested in anyone willing to give him the time of day. But in the end he turns out to be a bad guy willing to do anything to get his way. Troxeo is willing to do anything and everything to get a promotion in his military minded government that he doesn't care whohe has to cut down if they stand in his way. Only to finally feel and understand a mate bond and do nothing about it. He's even willing to hurt his mate to get in good graces with the government untill his cousin and medic take her to save her from him and his ill-gotten government. Then all is happy and forgiven when he finds and saves her from his evil cousin who saved her from death at her own mates hands. A must read to form your own opinion type book and write your own review.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
I feel so bad for Katie First, she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. On the way to another planet, she gets kidnapped. She is thrown into prison. She might even end up being a science experiment. What is a girl to do? Enter Troxeo, her would be kidnapper. He does not understand why is he developing feeling for this human. She is not his mate, right? Could it be? Great HEA
An exciting kidnap adventure – where prospective bride goes from frying pan to fire!! 4.5 stars
Arriving home early with sexy lingerie Katie hopes to surprise her boyfriend of three years. She is in for the surprise as she catches him in bed with a new co-worker. Disgusted she decides to sign up for the new TerraMates program on Bonaan.
Troxeo from the planet Oretoz watches the ships full of prospective wives take off. His mission is to kidnap one human. The original plan had been to invade Bonaan, but it looked like Earth was more tantalizing. They wanted an average human to question prior to completing plans. As Troxeo attaches his ship to the Earth vessel and prepares to select one women he meets the gaze of an exotic beauty with large blue eyes; Katie. Her struggle to not be taken results in her being knocked unconscious. Troxeo is intrigued with her softness as women on his planet are soldiers, just like the men. She brought to mind the word Eleste – which was an almost mythical concept of the deepest connection imaginable between two souls. Troxeo had never met anyone who had that connection. Oretoz mated for a season only, unless there was an eleste connection when the bond was for a lifetime. Commander Reck is not happy with Katie’s lack of military knowledge – things promise to go badly for her shortly.
We have a rescue which is really still is not an improvement in her situation, a wild animal attack, another rescue and the question of who can she trust, and will she ever get back to Earth?
*A complimentary copy was given in exchange for an honest review*
Katie is planning on seducing her boyfriend, but when she arrives home he's already in bed with another woman. She is furious and she leaves. After seeing a news report on T.V. she decides to apply to TerraMates, a mail order bride service for aliens on another planet. She's ready for a new adventure, and this just might be exactly what she needs
Troxeo, a dedicated unemotional soldier, is on a mission for his government to capture someone from Earth. His government is planning to invade Earth for its resources and information is needed about the average inhabitants. Troxeo decides to take a woman from a TerraMates shuttle bound for another planet.
From alien mail order bride to alien captive, Katie does not have a boring time after she leaves Earth. This was an interesting story and absolutely full of twists and turns. A big portion of the book has aggressive characters and situations. It was hard to switch gears from the character Troxeo is in the first half of the book to the character he becomes in the end. It almost felt as if I had missed a portion of the story. Because, it was hard to understand why Katie was willing to overlook how he treated her and understand why Troxeo was able to overcome his strict call to his duty all of a sudden. But overall I enjoyed it. I didn't feel the urge to skip around, and the villains of the story were written well and I wanted to kick them both! But this is what I would consider a dark exciting story.
Title: Warrior Invasion Series: TerraMates Novel Destination: Book 10 , 208 Pages, Author: Lisa Lace Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #SciFi #Aliens My Score: #5stars ☆☆☆☆☆
♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡ Well now isn't this a BIG TWIST Ms. Lisa writes it seem each book individually different. Yes this lady ROCKS. Who would of thought. Well I'll leave it for you to read and decide. This is one book you won't be disappointed. Katie Briggett thought she had everything on earth she would ever want. That all exploded when she came home early to find her boyfriend in bed, with his arms around someone else. For three years she thought he was it! WRONG. Seeing an ad for TerraMates convinced Katie she needed a new life. And so she boarded a spaceship heading for the planet Bonaan, here new home. Troxeo is from the planet Oretoz, following orders to capture an earthling to torture and interrogate, trying to receive all the information they can get to attack Earth. Boardings the ship he see and takes an earthling. As I said earlier this book is quite different from any of the past 9 books, you have a Bride that's cheated on, kidnapped, thrown in prison, than kidnapped again, possibly raped. Is there such a thing as Happily Ever After? I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.
This series's is getting better with each book you do not have to read them in order. This one is about Katie who has just come home from shopping and finds her boyfriend in bed with someone else so she went back to her parents house to give herself time to work out what she wants to with her life now that she has broken up with her boyfriend . She was watching the news on TV when they said that a trade deal had been done with Bonaan and they are after some brides from earth so Katie apply to Terramates and she got accepted. On the way to Bonaan the ship she was on got boarded by Troxeo who is from Oretoz.. Troxeo was under orders from Commander Reck to bring him a human so he could find out if earth was going to attack them. That is how Katie and Troxeo met. When they got to his home planet things start to go real bad for Katie. This book has all the right ingredients to keep you interested right from the start of the book until you get to the last page. Received this book for an honest review.
“Did I lose my mind?” was giving up on earth men because of cheating boyfriend worth the trip to outer space? This is what happens when you try to get away from the annoying ex-boyfriend you sign up to be the bride of an alien.
My first trip into space does not go according to plan but hey that’s par for the course of my life.
Each book in the Terra Mates series are standalone stories that do not seem to be connected in any way other than they are signed up to be brides for males from other planets.
In the beginning of this book I felt there was no connection between Troxeo and Katie regardless of the spark they physically felt. The characters feelings seemed a little rushed towards the end of the book. I would have like to see a more developed story line in this regard. The way the book is currently written over all was good. I still enjoyed reading it.
"This is an Incredible Alien Romance Series" These are such unique stories!. You will fall in love with the heroes!. Katie had just broke up with her cheating boyfriend. While staying with her parents Katie sees an ad for Terra-mates mail order bride service for Alien's. So Kate decides to start over and applies to them. She is accepted and is on her way to the planet Bonaan when their craft is invaded. Troxeo of Oretoz is sent on a mission to kidnap a earthling. So he ends up kidnapping Katie!. Right first off Troxeo starts lusting after Katie, but he is upset at himself as she is a mere earthling!. Katie was knocked out during the kidnapping, and wakes up strapped to an examination table!. Her new beginning has just took a huge turn!. You will love this exciting, funny, suspenseful, and scorching hot Romance!. This is an incredible series!.
This is the tenth book in the series dealing with TerraMates. In this one, Katie comes home to her loving boyfriend only to find him having a playdate. Which in turn cause her to go home to her parents, whereupon watching tv, she sees an advertisement about mail order brides. Only these brides are for the husbands of other worlds. Wanting a change, she signs up, only thing is she is a really big change.
While on her way there she is taken prisoner by a group that wants to invade earth.
But the question is, who is the real prisoner?
Another good book in the series, the best part is it is a stand alone, so you can read it without having to have read any of the others.
I absolutely love the "Terramates" series!! Each story is so filled with exciting, irresistible and oh so responsive Alien's and the earth women that sign up for intergalactic marriage! However in this book Troxeo takes prisoner a Terrabride on her way to a prearranged marriage to interrogate her about Earth's plans for expansion and invasion!! Something Kate has no idea about! Troxel and Kate's characters are so rich in life and humor that you can't help but laugh and giggle at each misconception!! Their sexual chemistry is off the charts hot and once started almost impossible to put down because you have to know what happens next!! More..more..more!!
After Katie caught her boyfriend three years cheating on her she was so furious. Katie over hearing in advertisement for Tara roommates so she decided to sign up. Katie never even listen to the news so she had no idea of any military plans or plans to stop invasions or any stuff like that. Troxeo was under orders from Commander Reck to bring him a human so he could find out if earth was going to attack them. That is how Katie and Troxeo meet. Troxeo and Katie immediately have a connection. This book is full of surprises and suspense. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
TerraMates book 10 and this series is just getting better I could not put it down . Katie’s life just took a turn for the worst when she comes home from shopping and finds her boyfriend Ben in bed with someone else she leaves and goes to her parents home. She is watching T.V. when she hears a trade agreement has been made between Earth and Bonaan and the are looking for brides she applies with Terramates. When she is on the spaceship it is boarded by Troxeo from Oretoz his commander Reck wants a human to find out what Earth has planned, Katie is the one they take. Her adventure is just beginning ! What happens? I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
It is fun to see how many different ways a marriage plan can go wrong to turn out so right. With the Terramates series it is expected there will be problems, suspense, action, attraction and of course marriage. Kudos to Lisa Lace for continuing to provide the reader with just enough suspense and "mating" to keep the reader's interest.
Note: It is not necessary to read this series in order. They are all standalone and are enjoyable all on their own merit with different scenarios.
