Kate has never lived a day in her life, but that’s about to change. She goes through the motions working a dead-end job with a boss that doesn’t really know what she’s worth. She gets some unexpected news about her grandmother dying. She has inherited her grandmother’s house and needs to go and clean things out. When she gets there she sees that not much has changed over the years. It’s as if the town has been stunted in time and everybody is pretty much the same. She has trouble sleeping and pills are not only able to give her that restful slumber, but it also brings about visions of a handsome man.
She soon learns that this man is not just a figment of her imagination or manifestation of the drugs running through her veins. What will she do when she finds out and everything that she believed in was a lie? The proposition given to her by Ryker will forever change her perspective.
The lights at the lake are not exactly what people think it is. It’s something more otherworldly and she’s about to take a journey that she’s never going to forget.
