Dark humor at it's finest! Honestly, there were times when reading this that I felt bad for laughing.

nice murderous fun!!

this violent graphic novel is very short. while an author's note in the beginning indicates that it's the beginning of a series, eight years on, it seems to be a standalone. i think it would have worked better as the beginning of a series, or if it was a slightly longer volume. we're introduced to lorna with some funny and gruesome little vignettes, and then there's one longer story toward the end.

i definitely enjoyed the book more as it went on, once i had a feel for lorna and her deadpan, unapologetically unsmiling self. her knack for killing rude boys could work as some vicarious wish fulfillment, and anyway, it's entertaining!

This was a fun read. I started reading as a fun comic with a quirky character trying to live her life and that’s exactly what I got. The characters slowly changed over time somewhat out of character yet in character at times. For example, some characters just disappeared without any mention but would turn up again later on. I don’t mind just assuming what happened to them but It took me out of the story when I realized they were all of a sudden gone when they’d been center stage for the plot for a bit. Not sure it will stay with me in the long run but I enjoyed this for what it was.

The humor just didn’t hit for me. I didn’t like the main character or find her psychopathic adventures fun.

An angry young woman likes cats but hates people, so she kills many people. The murders usually happen offscreen, so I don't really know if they were deserved for some reason or if this is just a ruthless serial killer. It's all supposed to be humorous, but I feel left out of the joke. Unpleasant.

I like the art but am less impressed by the heroine, who seems to have no family, few friends, and be of unknown age. Mostly she seems to like being antisocial and murdering people who bother her. The short length and cute punk violence vibes reminded me a bit of Pinky and Pepper Forever, but that had some hints of psychological interest, so I liked it slightly better. In this book we're not sure why Lorna is as disaffected and violent as we see her here.

What did I just read? The humor is so messed up and dark, but I couldn’t help chuckling at the ridiculous things Lorna gets up to. Definitely not for everyone. This is my second Benji Nate book and it’s safe to say I really like Benji Nate.

I liked the art. I think the dark humor didn't quite hit with me. I would have preferred to have more background into the character so I'd have more of a reason to like her. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had a storyline, but it was just short scenes.

Personality not my cup of tea but I can see how other people would like it, the best way I could describe it is as excerpts from little comics I would have loved to see in Tumblr some years ago, the whole book just gives me Tumblr energy, that's not bad by any means of course, but every single detail to the "dark humor" to the characters to the art style seems perfectly tailored to Tumblr, or at least created by a Tumblr user.

To me, I feel like Lorna is the most insufferable little person I've ever read about, her quirky personality already got me tired 12 chapters in so I just kept reading to see what the characters would do. None of them really interested me, they're all just a bunch of characteristics without any depth, although I feel like I'm judging the book too hard for what it is, it's silly and exaggerated and most of not all of the comedy comes from Lorna being quirky and dangerous in some way, but I never had any reaction to her actions. Sure, she kills people, she's a lovable asshole with weird interests that's not like other girls and that's the joke but it's never really funny. It's weird, because nobody really acknowledges how utterly unlikeable she is, it almost feels like Lorna is everything a Tumblr girl wants to be without any limits, she can do anything she pleases just because there isn't any consequences for it. Honestly I just hate her.

WHY WOULD YOU EVER ASSUME THAT I LIKE ANYTHING AT ALL?

Content Warning: murderous children

I found this graphic novel to be interesting juuust enough, to wanna check out other stuff by the writer. While my weirdo self lol can always appreciates dark humor, it certainly won't be for everyone expecially within these disturbing pages of Lorna. That being said, there were some moments when I thought maybe I shouldn't have felt it was as amusing.

I can't help but wonder if Benji Nate is perhaps, speaking from experience through her protagonist anti-socially violent knife obsessed and awkwardness. And yes, cats are the best pets.

‘Didn’t your mama ever tell ya? It’s not about what undergarment you’re wearing… it’s about what you’re hiding in ‘em that really matters.’

this is a very quick, cool, and weird graphic novel/comic following Lorna who is… eccentric, we can say.

hoping that there is more because I’d love a whole collection of Lorna being Lorna

I read the ebook version (60 pages).

Lorna is definitely antisocial and out there. It’s giving crazy girl trope when in reality girly has mental health issues and trauma. It was okay. Not really my cup of tea, but there was a bit of dark humour to it. Reminded me of “The End of the Fucking World” show characters.

If Wednesday Addams, Daria and Emily the Strange got together they might make Lorna. Mature themes. Dark humor. Trigger warnings. NOT everyone's cup of tea, not even everyone's glass of whiskey. Almost a glass of absinthe.

I will read anything Benji Nate creates. Lorna was vicious and exciting. It did take me a little to realize that the book had entered a flashback scene, which is why I couldn't grant it a full 5 stars.

2.5 rounded up. I really don't know what to make of this one. On one hand, it's Benji Nate, who I really enjoy, but on the other, I was not as crazy about this character as I am about Bunny from Girl Juice or Catboy.

This was great. Super funny and charming. I'm always looking for more Benji Nate to read. This is all about Lorna. A mean girl who loves violence and cats. She also has a crush on a boy and needs help with her romance. Full of fun and goofy gags. I enjoyed this one a lot. Highly recommend!
