The author of these Lassie books, Steve Frazee, was awarded the Lassie-Forest Ranger Conservation Award. This one especially shows why; all the different wildlife living around the lake. Hopefully many kids became conservationists as a result :)

Read this as a kid and it remains impactful about the need to be environmentally aware.

While most of the Lassie books are a painful read, joyfully, this isn't one of them. The spotlight is on Lassie, and the nature around her. One of the best Lassie books I've read yet!

A great book about a dog named Lassie. Most of you should be familiar with the movies of Lassie and should have a brief understanding of this book.
