Over the years I've read thousands of conditioning and strength books . This one is easily at the top. No magic pills or gadgets required, just hard work. If your serious this book really is a no brainer. Get it you won't regret it. It has change my life at 60. The future looks promising. Righteous book!!
This is a very comprehensive, no-nonsense Book on bodyweight training, covering strength, plyometric power, and endurance. I will admit that I am familiar with many of the moves discussed in this book, but I learned so many new details to focus on when practicing them, the ones that I can do, anyway. Another thing I enjoyed were the detailed descriptions of the exercises - I am completely blind and I did not have to ask someone to look at the photos for me to understand what the Kavadlos were getting at. I was a little apprehensive as I am aware of the Kavadlos' penchant for photographing the hell out of themselves, but they delivered very well in the written portion as well, making this a fantastic body weight book for a blind or visually-impaired calisthenics enthusiast.
I also enjoyed the sections dealing with urban gym equipment - doing flags on a street sign or Australian pull-ups on a bike rack. You can do this stuff anywhere, without going to a gym and slamming your head into squat racks that your cane goes right under. I've done it and I'll do it again, but it's nice to have options, you know?
All and all this is a great book. From the descriptions to the ideas on making your own gym equipment to the philosophies of both Kavadlo brothers. From know-how to perspective this is a solid read which will keep me busy for years to come. With a hey-hey-hey I'll keep the dream alive.
P.S. I once asked Al on his FB page about a photo he posted of an exercise and he was perfectly willing to tell me how to do it. So, I have personal experience getting a description of an exercise photo, and both of these guys seem quite happy to help their fans and followers understand and get strong.
The calisthenic bible, the one to rule them all. If you have any interest in body-weight exercises, this is the book for you. It offers clear advise for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. Big, colorful pictures accompany every exercise so we can see exactly how to perform each movement/pose. The Kavaldo brothers are true masters in not only the calisthenic craft, but in teaching it as well.
