Jennifer Crusie is the New York Times, USA Today, and Publisher's Weekly bestselling author of twenty-three novels, one book of literary criticism, miscellaneous articles, essays, novellas, and short stories, and the editor of three essay anthologies.
She was born in Wapakoneta, a small town in Ohio, and then went on to live in a succession of other small towns in Ohio and New Jersey until her last move to a small town in Pennsylvania. This may have had an impact on her work.
She has a BS in Art Education, an MA in literature, an MFA in fiction, and was ABD on her PhD when she started reading romances as part of her research into the differences between the ways men and women tell stories. Writing a romance sounded like more fun than writing a dissertation, so she switched to fiction and never looked back. Her collaborations with Bob Mayer have pretty much proved everything she was going to say in her dissertation anyway, so really, no need to finish that.

JENNIFER CRUSIE BEDROOM BUSINESS Getting Rid Of Bradley This is a fun light hearted book, that is for sheer entertainment. While the plot is a bit light, I loved the interaction between Lucy Savage (our heroine) and Zack Warren (our hero). They argued, talked and laughed and of course fell in love. Lucy’s dogs were funny without being cute. The secondary characters of Tina, Lucy’s sister and Anthony Zack’s work partner were a foil to Lucy and Zack but didn’t steal the show. It is a great read for the holidays, especially a hot summer’s day, (and it was). I enjoyed rereading this novel.
Charlie All Night This is the second novel in this volume and again it is a light read and enjoyable. Allie McGuffey is our heroine and she is hard working, fiercely loyal and is willing to do almost anything to succeed. Charlie Tenniel, is laid back willing to cruise along and just do his time. At first glance this plot may seem to be thin, but on this reread, I did think that Jennifer Crusie has very subtly discussed a couple of important social issues: medical use of marijuana; animal welfare and; small town corrupt politicians. The interaction between Allie and Charlie was a bit hit and miss, but I did like the way that Jennifer Cruise made them get to know each other and not just become lovers instantly. The other characters of Joe, Mark, Bill, Grady and Sam, the puppy Sam were good support, especially Sam. Again a light read that is great for the holidays.
I applaud Ms. Crusie for her talent of words. I bet she could make any plot, however ridiculous, fun, fresh and enjoyable This book contains of two short novel. I am not a fan of short novel but these two are un-putdown-able. Ms. Crusie successfully mix humor, romance and serious problem into one package. The instant attraction was a let-down but it was necessary for stories this short I always like Ms. Crusie's works, in exception of Bet Me, this book only makes me like her more Thumbs up
Two stories in one book is always a bit exciting but unfortunately this wasn’t Ms Crusie’s best work. The first story was action-packed, which I liked, but in a lot of other ways it was like reading a sub-par version of Bet Me (a much better novel). The second story was very entertaining but overall kind of silly. I enjoyed it but I’m not sure I’d recommend it particularly highly.
