I live in one of the most beautiful places in Florida, Jupiter, with my wife, two kids and our golden retriever, Vincent. I've been a full time author for the last 15 years and I wouldn't trade it against anything in the world!

My father was a journalist and wrote about some of the worst crimes you could ever imagine, and that's where my big interest from serial killers and other horrible crimes comes from. Just to hear my father talk about the evil acts of Ted Bundy as we were out fishing as a kid are some of my best memories.

Horrendous. I only read this 110 page book because I’ve scrapped too many other books this year. Plus, who can’t make it thru 100 pages of rambling, inane words? Some stories weren’t logically laid out. Others used the same word every other sentence. The best story was the first one about the murders of every woman name Mary Morris in eastern Texas, or something like that. The worst stories were the ones in the last half of the book that went something like “a person was murdered and there was a suspect but no evidence so the suspect lived a long life. And then the suspect (as a senior citizen) confessed to the crime, or forensics confirmed that person’s guilt. Thanks science. The end”

I didn't not like this book, but I wasn't too impressed with it either. None of the cases were particularly interesting. Might be a good starter book for someone who is just starting to get into the true crime genre or doesn't want too much gore, since there was only one part (to me, at least) that was graphic.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a good first instalment to Rosewood’s True Crime Stories series. It mainly focuses on cold cases, and some are honestly baffling, like the Palmer Brothers disappearance. The later half of the book focuses on the creation and uses of systems like AFIS and CODIS. It was good, it just didn’t hold my attention like other instalments did.

Exactly what it says it is

I enjoyed this book and finished it in one day. The stories are pretty brief synopsis of much more detailed cases so you do have to research more on your own if you want more than a few pages of information. All in all I really enjoyed this book and thought it had a lot of interesting true crime stories that I hadn't heard of before, and I've read a lot of true crime.

Good true crime stories (the name says it all) that could have gone a little bit deeper in some of them but overall good, maybe not shocking, but surprising and strange stories. All of it is well divided in case and section which made it easy to read, consult, and follow. Not a masterpiece in it's category, but a decent work that worth looking at for the fans of crimes and murder stories!

For those of you who are fans of Mr. Jack Rosewood with his vivid and psychological ventures through his books into the depraved minds of those individuals who we aptly call serial killers know I am a fan as well. It didn’t start out that way as I would have normally walked away from reading stories like these, but somehow they began to grow on me, much in the same manner I’d watched the complete series of “Murder, She Wrote” streaming on NetFlix a several months ago, when I didn’t watch the show when it originally aired; they only difference is that times have changed and so has my taste for stories like these. So when I perused my reviews and my KINDLE library of books I was surprised that somehow I’d missed this endeavor by the author.

In this outing of his exposés Mr. Rosewood presents his fans and those reading him for the first time a smorgasbord/an anthology of a dozen true crime murders, murders which have flown under the radar of the news media but we were just as heinous in what had taken place, simply because they were basically singular events and not a series of them perpetrated by the same individuals. Murders, which had gone cold but eventually solved years later due to the vast improvements of investigative tools used by detectives, much in the same manner we hear about such cases being resolved today. Murders, which might could have even baffled Charlie Chan or Sherlock Holmes, with their strange coincidences or singularities.

For informing his readers in his usual style about these “forgotten” true murder cases I’m giving Mr. Rosewood 5 STARS.

This is yet another biopic read that’s really hard to put down. It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of some of the most horrific (albeit little known about) serial killers. In fact, while reading yet another of Jack Rosewoods books, I just had to keep turning the pages yet again. Not necessarily because it's all that enjoyable in any way, shape or form, to delve a little too deeply into the malefic minds of such murderous men, but because I sincerely believe that most people are fascinated in one way or another by serial killers. Perhaps it’s the human morbid fascination with death. I’m not exactly sure. However, maybe it just astounds the average person as to how depraved another individual can be.

Even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, True Crime Stories: 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases (True Crime Anthology) will surely raise more than a few hairs on the back of your neck. It was a good read and the author gave a perspective to these horrific crimes that were fascinating and intriguing. This was one of the better true crime books that I have read recently.

The writing is fresh and straight to the point. It’s a straightforward and no fluff guide and an interesting quick short read. As a big fan of Jack Rosewood, it’s another five stars from me. I would highly recommend his work to all fans of the true crime genre.

Good quick read with some really interesting and unusual cases.

I read the book 2 of this series first for some reason and then this book 1 next-it doesn't matter which way you read them anyway. This was another good quick read with some really interesting and unusual cases. It was intriguing, and a nice simple style, not too long winded, straight to the point. I'm now hooked on this series! I just want to keep on reading them! There's some surprising material, a great variety of cases and circumstances. I've read a few true crime books before but these were all fresh ones for me, not all ones I'd heard about before (although I do like reading more detail about true crime cases I've heard of from years ago and in the news too). This is very well presented on the whole, there's just one chapter where someone was called both Robert and Richard-it kept changing-maybe they did go by both names? Anyway it was a bit confusing.

I just want to say how much I enjoyed reading this book. If you read books on true crime you will love this. I liked how there were 12 stories. Each story told a complete story of people, times, events and even history related to the person.
The chapters were short and easy to read. There was so information you didn't question and you had a complete account of the story and what happened. The author was very knowledgeable about what he was writing.
I can't wait to read more by this author. I would most definitely recommend this book. *I am grateful I was given this book in return for an honest review.

If anyone knows me, they know that I have an odd interest in serial killers and crimes. I live for the I.D channel and in high school, for a little while, I wanted to be the psychiatrist who interviewed and examines the criminals. I always found it interesting to see what made them tick. To learn their life story and see where the hell it all went wrong. That's what i was hoping for when I opened this book. It didn't get as in depth as I hoped, however, it was still interesting none the less. All of the crimes in this book were very interesting. Still a good quick read for any of the other crime nerds out there :)

I found this very intriguing, I'm a big true crime buff and really enjoy these types of books. It's even more shocking/creepy when it's young people doing it.... it's hard to imagine such horror coming from such a young mind. I really enjoy reading about what makes criminals' minds tick, and this was a great addition. Enjoyed the writing and narration, if you like true crime I think you'll like this one. Give it a listen! Not too long, great for the commute. :)

Twelve stories of different murders that are surprising in different ways. DNA solved some, some unsolved, some just shocking. Anna Palmer murder, serial killer Richard Zalinsky, the missing Palmer brothers, and more. The stories are straight and to the point with no extra added fluff. Just the necessary details. Each of the stories are interesting in their own rights. The book is well-written and well researched. It is a fast and easy read, and enjoyable. I liked it.

All new cases for your late evening reading enjoyment

Here are a dozen true crime cases, some of which are still unsolved. Some of these cases are old enough that, if they were solved, it was through the diligence and persistence of hard-working detectives.

More recent cases had the benefit of DNA analysis as well as the AFIS and CODIS programs to search for fingerprint and DNA matches.

An okay collection of true crime cases, but nothing special. Several crimes were unsolved while others were EASILY solved. The only really interesting chapters were those featuring weird coincidences--two women with the same name turning up dead, members of the same family disappearing, etc.--but those went unresolved and were ultimately unsatisfying.

Kindle Unlimited but got 3 pack on a freebie day, don't normally do true crime or horror books, but have went through a good deal of his, the king of ick-gross as I think of his books. Not for the faint of heart nor the weak of stomach

The world can be a very strange place in general and when you open the pages of this true crime anthology you will quickly learn that the criminal world specifically can be as bizarre as it is dangerous. In the following book, you will be captivated by mysterious missing person cases that defy all logic and a couple cases of murderous mistaken identity. Follow along as detectives conduct criminal investigations in order to solve cases that were once believed to be unsolvable. Every one of the crime cases chronicled in the pages of this book are as strange and disturbing as the next.

The twelve true crime stories in this book will keep you riveted as you turn the pages, but they will probably also leave you with more questions than answers. For instance, you will be left pondering how two brothers from the same family could disappear with no trace in similar circumstances over ten years apart. You will also wonder how two women with the same first and last names, but with no personal connections, could be murdered within the same week in the same city. The examination of a number of true crime murder cases that went cold, but were later solved through scientific advances, will also keep you intrigued and reading.

It is no secret that true crime murder stories are not for the faint of heart. They can lead you to double-check your windows and doors at night, and question everything you thought or believed about human nature. Yet they are intriguing and fascinating at the same time. What is it that makes us different from those who take the lives of others? That is a question that many ask themselves, and these true crime stories help to identify the method and psychology behind some of the most terrifying killers in modern history. This set includes three true crime books, volumes 1-3, and each is filled with a variety of true crime murder cases, including spree killers and massacres, some of which are yet to be solved. You are taken through the background of the story, the murders, and the criminal investigations that took place. Some pages will be difficult to read, due to the emotion behind them.

If you like Forensic Files

I've been reading quite a few true crime books over the past few months interspersed with other genres. Jack Rosewood engage the reader's interest and I enjoy the style of multiple short crime stories. More in the format of a half-hour Forensic Files versus the longer one hour to two-hour ID, Oxygen, and other channels that depict longer murder cases. I don't like reading unsolved murder cases so I didn't enjoy that aspect of the book, otherwise Mr. Rosewood was able to hold my interest as he presented crimes I wasn't familiar with.

That is always a nice change of pace, since I read so much I am constantly reading about some of the same murderers. The stories were quite different from each other. What brought them together was the author's decision. Some stories were detailed, while others were quite brief. The different time frames showed terrible crimes over the years. I look forward to reading more by Jack Rosewood.

This is not a book that I would have picked up the off the shelf for my reading pleasure had it not been a requirement of EBN. That being said, I did not feel the author presented the cases in a gruesome or graphic manner. It was more presented in a factual way- one of which I was appreciative of due to my nature of being easily disturbed in regard to this type of content.

True Crime Stories vol 1 by Jack Rosewood. 2⭐️.

these stories were pretty boring. the only one i really was interested in was the one about the two girls with the same name both getting murdered. i did not enjoy this book , but others might. i felt like they repeated themselves every other sentence and either were unsolved or solved VERY fast. i don’t know. i wouldn’t recommend it.

If you like to read about unsolved cases and the misfortune that frequently befalls others, this set of books is for you. Otherwise, sometimes the connections seem forced, and I did not find so entertaining reading about the dark dangers that await anywhere.

Interesting group

The cases presented here in this true crime anthology are for the most part little known and eclectic. There is a good mix of stories from different times and places in history. A decent offering with fair editing but no pics which are always appreciated.

A quick true crime read. As someone who works in the criminal justice field I’ve always been fascinated with true crime stories. This one presented cases I was unfamiliar with. Very interesting if you’re into this kind of stuff.

He is basically a crime journalist and a good one. He does the research and comes up with things we don't know! You can't compare him to fictional novelist...one is based on real events while the other is made up. As an investigative journalist, he is very good.

I would’ve given it a 0 if I could have, maybe even a negative. Tons of typos and inappropriate language. The use of ! In inappropriate circumstances. Names were spelled differently every other page. Sounded much like a child’s school report.

wWnderful Writing

This is as good book, the stories are interesting, the writing is intriguing, and the stories are memorable. I love that the author chose cases that we would never have known about without his dedicated research.
