As someone who habitually relies on Lonely Planet guides, I was amazed that something like this existed to reveal the odd nooks and crannies in a big city. My friend and I spent a week in Vienna and found some lovely little places through this book; cafes, bars, restaurants, book shops, apothecaries, all unusual and unique. We ate pizza that was baked inside a giant disco ball! The majority of the book however focusses on art, of which we are not fanatics, so we picked out the best for our interests from a vast array of recommendations.
