About the author

Margit Sandemo was a Norwegian-Swedish historical fantasy author. She has been the best-selling author in the Nordic Countries since the 1980s, when her novel series of 47 books, The Legend of the Ice People, was published. She has also written many other book series such as Häxmästaren and Legenden om Ljusets rike.

I did really like this, it reminds me of the earlier books about Isfolket where the plot want centered around one arc, such as Sölve, Saga or Heike at Gråstensholm. I think I prefer these types of stories, where the reader discovers where the plot will take them at the same time (or close to) as the characters.
TL:DR It's a solid book with lots of discoveries and turnabouts. I like.

Det här är lite som en deckare, där André Brink av Isfolket söker efter fler ättlingar till Isfolket. Han hör talas om en kvinna som fått ett dödfött, starkt missbildat barn, mycket likt de drabbade barn isfolkets ättlingar får varje generation.

André Brink ger sig ut på jakt efter ledtrådar i sin nyinköpta automobil. Han får hjälp av kvinnorna Mali och Nette. Spåren leder dem till Sverige där ondskan väntar på dem för att hämnas.

Mycket spännande bok om isfolket, annorlunda mot de tidigare böckerna. Klart läsvärd!

Andre Brink otrzymuje poważne zadanie - musi odnaleźć ze swojego pokolenia potomka Ludzi Lodu, który jest obciążony tym złym dziedzictwem. Chodzą słuchy, że w Szwecji żyła kobieta, która urodziła zniekształcone dziecko (co charakteryzowało dzieci ze złym dziedzictwem). Andre będzie mieć dwie towarzyszki podróży - Nettę i Mali - z którymi, jak to u Sandemo bywa, wytworzy się pewna relacja, skutkująca oczywiście małżeństwem z jedną z nich.

Jeśli chodzi o ten tom to zapowiadał się dobrze, ale forma przedstawienia jest mało strawna. Pojawia się pewna okoliczna legenda, ale jest opisana w sposób tak nudny, że człowiek ma ochotę przekartkować książkę i w ogóle to pominąć. Autorka przekazuje nam kilka nowych interesujących informacji dotyczących rodu Ludzi Lodu, ale ponownie tutaj forma przekazania tych informacji jest położona po całości. Romans, który zawiązuje się między bohaterami jest taki sam jak przy innych książkach autorki, więc nie będę się tutaj na ten temat rozpisywać. Netta i Mali wzbudzają sympatię, pomimo, że z charakteru są bardzo różne.

Zostawiam 1,5 gwiazdki i idę dalej.

Nie będzie to mój ulubiony tom Sagi o Ludziach Lodu, ale nie mogę mu odebrać tego, że był po prostu przyjemny. Zagadka kryminalno-genealogiczna była prosta, ale jednocześnie przyjemna do śledzenia. Podobnie z bohaterami, bo choć Andre do grona mych ulubionych członków rodu zaliczał się nie będzie, to jego charakter, lekko nonszalancki, ale przy tym szczery i serdeczny, bardzo pasował do całości. Mali polubiłam z miejsca za jej bezpośredniość, a Nette była po prostu urocza i choć jej wątek przez większość czasu był raczej smutny, to cieszę się, że i ona zaznała w życiu co nieco szczęścia.

I did not enjoy this book all that much. It was focused on finding the lost relatives , backtracking in the family tree of ice people.
Also another romance to continue the family line.

Action ends in the year 1914 or so. More modern setting. It sure was a long way as we started in 1500s.

Izgalmas volt visszakanyarodni az elveszett Christerhez, megint csak MS dramaturgiai érzékét és páratlan tervezőerejét, előrelátását igazolja ez a kötet.
Valósághű, hogy André nem talál meg mindenkit, de azért részleges sikerrel jár, és Nette szála torokszorítóan szép volt, mégis hiteles.

Longest series I've ever read and it's far from being done! Enjoying it extremely much but am bad in picking the books up! Been reading it for a few years, just need to power through and finish it. But a very good and well thought out series!

Helt ok, men var inget större fan av att följa en berättelse inne i en berättelse. Var svårt att hänga med när man lyssna på boken och det flöt inte på speciellt bra, men ändå en helt ok avstickare

I liked the love story very much. It was a change from the other books in the saga (as far as I have come) that the insecure person did not "get" the gorgeous person that he or she was secretely in love with, but perceived as beyond her/his league. Because, even if such stories give hope and comfort just when you are reading them, they are not a guide to reality. Instead this story shows what CAN happen in reality: that you learn to love somebody else that you can begin a reality with. And that you CAN get over the unhappy, unrecruited love in time. Apart from the love story, this part of the Isfolket-mystery is also interesting and exciting!

The Woman on the Beach
André Brink searches for "touched" descendant of Ice People from his geneartion. Traces lead to Trondheim, where some woman gave a birth to a deformed child. Is is possible that another unknown line of ice People exists? André meets Mali - fighter for women's rights, and very nice Nette. All three are going to Sweden, but there the evil beyonf their recogniction awaits them.
