I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

Sexy man...
A bit of mystery.. A lot of suspense. Add loads of Hot Sexy man and a lady vet. This is a really good book. I have read other books by Maryann and I have enjoyed them all.

Stoney, shady maybe-bad guy shows up on Annie’s doorstep with a dog who needs emergency surgery. Then, romance happens.
The Good
-Kindle Unlimited book
-Definitely Kristen Ashley feel to the tone and the characters
-there are moments that have a genuine feeling of affection between the H/h
-the way Stoney/Shane speaks is very KA alpha-hero like
-I would have liked to have seen more of Annie’s veterinary practice at the beginning of the story to really set up her character
-I enjoyed the general plot - the dogs as mule for drugs angle was different.
-Even if I knew how it would end, there was a dramatic climax to the story.
-The epilogue was sweet.
The Bad and Everything Else
-My musical analogy: it hits alot of the same beats as a Kristen Ashley book, but it just doesn’t sound as good
-Insta-love: immediate sex was improbable (four times within the first 21% of the story just seemed excessive).
-TSTL heroine: Annie did too many things that took her straight to TSTL territory, things that made no sense and I didn’t connect with her.
-Shane thinking of the questionable women he’d been with in the last two years just made me want to ask him to get tested. Thoughts of STDs rolling around in my head are not sexy.
--repetitive dialogue: She is his sunshine….but if he says it one more time, my eyes will roll right out of my head. And one more reference to the wild man he was, would make me crazy.
-is she 5’5” or 5’2”? Changes in the book.
-I love sex scenes, but there are just too many and there’s little variety. If I’m distracted enough to count how many times the characters have sex, that’s usually an indication that it’s too many.
The Bottom Line (2.5 stars)
I’d give it a qualified recommendation - If you’re a KA addict desperate for a fix, and you don’t mind insta-love, you may enjoy this.

As the author of the Fairfield Series, I fell in love with writing romance mysteries. I decided to make a spin-off series that was darker, more erotic, more suspenseful. This is Love's Taming. I once again fell in love with the characters and the plot twists. I hope the readers enjoy this emotional story between a hero needing light in his life and the beautiful woman that vows to stand by his side.

This book had me on the edge the whole time! I was screaming and hollering at every turn. The suspense killed me but it was well worth the read!!! Annie is an amazing strong woman that has a great head on her shoulder. She is a veterinarian in a small town. She doesn't have time for a Man in her life. She is just happy with her 3 cats and 2 best friends. Until one night when a stranger walks in her bet in the middle of the night begging for help. "Stoney" was trying to find some help for his dog. He is in deep trying to find the drug ring ran by puppy mills. He had to use Sarge to get them to trust him so he went to Annie to help him fix his dog. Annie felt safe with Stoney from the get go but had no clue how or why. Stoney couldn't pull his self away from her even if it killed him. She was his sunshine. Annie and her friends and the vet was always busy. A tragic incident happens at the clinic and Stoney decides to tell her the truth of who he is. Annie freaks but finally comes to terms with it. But will their relationship survive these events? This book is amazing! Best one yet.

This is a mystery intrigue romance that once I started I was realizing I had started one that I would not willing put down unless necessity demanded it. Having read this author before her series I quickly realize this is a different rhythm all together that quite frankly I find is one of my favorites when I read modern day romance. I love reading dark mystery with romance so was a nice surprise to discover this is exactly that. I also quickly notice the talent this author has to be able to write contemporary new adult then dazzle us readers with a novel to sink our teeth into. Annie is a vet that thanks to her compassionate heart helps a dark mysterious stranger with his very ill dog that will open the door to so much more. Actually he also opens the door to her heart with her also being the key to his. Unknown at the time this dark stranger is undercover and with that will bring the danger to her door. Once the truth is known by Annie she still goes forward with Shane while he promises her he will keep her safe because after all he protects what is his. She does become that for sure and this dark delicious man is hers. This author though has filled their world with danger, murder with criminals that must be caught before it all hits the fan so to speak. It is like a time bomb waiting to explode while you the reader will turn the pages to see what happens next. Their passion will heat up the night while danger will run the streets with Annie being a target anyways. This author will also have a big surprise that you will not see coming when you find out who exactly whom is helping the scum using poor animals for the runners in the dangerous drug world that has crashed into hers. Found out for yourself who will come out of this alive because it will come down to you holding on to whatever you can in suspense to see the final outcome. Shessh what a outcome too. Nice epilogue that will leave you smiling that when the last page is turned you will be left with nothing but a book hangover. Received a copy for a honest review.

My kind of book. There is romance, great mystery, and a hot guy! Maryann Jordan hits it out of the park again with Love's Taming.
Annie Donavan is a sweet veterinarian who has never really stepped out of her box. Her world is titled on its axis when she receives a visitor late one night from the mysterious Stoney. What she doesn't know is that by letting Stoney in, she has also let in the danger that goes along with his dark world.
Shane is a hot detective who weaves his way into Annie heart. Can he protect Annie from the dark world she has been thrust in to? I can tell you that he can weave his way into my heart. Did I say he was HOT? Heck yeah!
I highly recommend this book. This is a must read

I was given this book in exchange for a honest review
Annie is a small town vet who was taken under a older vet wing for him to mentor. When he passed away she was surprise to find that he had left the practice and the apartment above to her.
Struggling to keep the practice and paying of her student loan and keep her staff it doesn’t leave much time for her to do anything else. But she loves being a vet it’s all that she has every wanted to do far as she is concerned there is no back up plan.
Shane (Stoney) is a undercover cop who is in deep trying to crack a drug ring that involves shipping drugs in dogs. Till his dog became one of them then he sort out Annie to help his dog.
After Annie and Stoney helped fix Sarge his dog they have a Very intense moment where Annie has brought it down to just a one night stand.
Shane has other plans till she finds out the he is really a cop.
Shane falls head over heels for Annie and is not letting anything stand in his way and is ready to leave the force if it means he can have that piece of sunshine that has pulled him out of the dark that he has been living in for the past 2 years.
As much as I want to keep going about this book its not fare to spoil it so I’m going to leave it with my opinion.
This book I couldn’t put down my house work went to crap for 2 days lol I’m in love with how Shane treats her and loves her and the was she is with him. This book has to be on everyone’s must read list.
I loved Maryann prier books but I have to say this is my favorite one so far and cant wait for the next. I just don’t want to have to wait ☹

This was an amazing read. I would of had it read sooner had I not had homework for my college classes. I had a hard time putting it down. I love that it has connection to Maryann's first series.
Dr. Annie Donovan is a vet who never lets anything stop her not even men. Since she was young she always wanted to be a vet and never had a back up plan. She loves caring for animals even when the owner's cannot pay or they are strays. One night a mystery man brings in his German Shepard, Sarge, that needs emergency surgery. So much more than surgery happens that night not for Sarge but for Annie.
Shane a.k.a Stoney is an undercover cop. He is trying to get the necessary evidence for an air tight case against the drug ring in his home town of Richland. When he has to have his dog Sarge swallow drugs to prove his loyalty he takes Sarge to the only vet he trusts. His plan to get Sarge cared for and thwn never look back is blown that night and now he is praying there is no blow back on Annie. if there is he doesn't know what he will do.
This book is HOT, suspenseful, and fast paced. You will be hooked in no time. I love Maryann's work and cannot wait for her next book!

Maryann has given us another amazing read! We need more than five starts for this one. I was lucky enough to have gotten and arc an wow I loved it!!!!
We have Shane Aka Stoney we has found himself in the deepest parts of hell. But one glimpse of sunshine and his life will be forever change. He is all alpha male hotness and protects what is his. You will first be very suspicious of Stoney but then fall for him.
Annie is a vet with a heart of gold. She doesn't turn patients away even when she thinks you can't pay. She does everything to heal these animals and that is what leads her to find some trouble. She may be sweet but doesn't stand down when she gets something in here head. She leaves nothing to guess she ask straight out questions and answers with nothing but the truth.
When the two world collide we get hot stream attraction with a dangerous ride. You will also see what happens when a mans women is threaten and the beast is unleashed.

I was given the chance to beta read Love's Taming by Maryann Jordan. This book is a 5 star read, it's beyond amazing and I can promise that you won't be disappointed with this one click. I love The Fairfield Series by Maryann as well so I knew that I would like this book as well.
I fell in love with Annie's character right away, she is a quite person who has this amazing love for animals. Her vet practice is all she knows and is content with that until Stoney this dark, wild man comes into her life. She is just the sunshine that he needs in his life. Fate has brought them together to help heal them both.
This book made me laugh, cry and even caused my heart to stopped beating for a minute. This has to be my new favorite romance series ever from an author and I look forward to what Maryann has in store for us next. Well done Maryann, thank you for taking me on their journey.

NO SPOILERS!
I am in LOVE with this book!! Maryann did an amazing job with this story. I first fell in love with Jordan's Fairfield Series, and this story has surpass my expectations of writting a better story. This book had me guessing from page one. Everytime I thought I knew what was going on, I DIDN'T. So Love's Taming will def keep you on the edge of your seat! It is a darker read than her first series, but if you loved her writting- you will be head over heals with this book!
Shane and Annie's story is just amazing. Annie is the sweet, innoncent Vet and Shane is everything that she dreamed of. Sexy, Cocky, Dangerous, and Sweet. I felt like I was living their story and for me it is so important to connect with the story for it to be EPIC! :)

HOLY SMOKES!!! What an AWESOME READ!!! WOW!! To see it start off with Annie Donavan a Veterinarian ends up doing emergency surgery on Sarge cause he swallowed a sausage. She meets Stoney/Shane Sarge's owner and holy smokes right from the beginning Stoney knew that Annie was the woman for him. This is a must read. I really loved how Maryann wrote the story innocent Vet meeting a mysterious guy and from there just took off. I know in the story I had jumped a couple of times when Annie was in the clinic by herself and she hears a voice asking if she had a good time. I actually jump and was like OH NO!! Hubby thought something happened to me till I told him no it is the book. He goes don't do that to me..LOL so yeah there is mystery,thriller and romance in this story. I rate this more than 5 stars this book kicks butt!! Can't wait for more.

This book has a little bit of everything. Annie owns a vet and lives upstairs with her 2 cats. Her world pretty much revolves around those things. She is this sweet, lonely girl who pretty much keeps to herself. I didn't care for the way she assumed things instead of getting answers. You have your sexy, alpha man, Shane. He is in need of a vet in the middle of the night and meets Annie whom he's been watching. His feelings end up being more than they were suppose to be. While trying to do his job and keep Annie safe, things end up getting screwed up. You have the mystery and danger of what will happen next. And then of course, your HEA. This was an overall good read. It kept me intrigued from the beginning to the end. I like Shane being the overprotective, hot male and Annie who is his light bringing him back to life.

Stoney was a douche bag. I just could not like him as an H. This is probably more me than the book itself. He was an asshole. Never spoke in actual sentences (the nothin' and anythin' in this book drove me insane), and he fucked up to many times for me to be all 'yeah, if I were in the h's shoes, I'd totally stick it out with this guy...'. Because I wouldn't have. I just didn't feel him as a good guy.
Also, the words 'pure fucking sunshine' were repeated so frequently it literally made me want to kick a box of kittens. Or something equally as awful.
Referring to Stoney as 'wild and untamed' made no sense to me. He didn't seem wild. More like a 'prick or douche'...
As you can see, this was not my bag. I do wanna see where the series goes though.
So here's hoping for a better experience with book 2.
Also, the words 'pure fucking sunshine' were repeated so frequently it literally made me want to kick a box of kittens. Or something equally as awful.

It don't know what I just read?! This book was recommended by good reads saw the top few ratings and it was free on Amazon. Thank all that I didn't pay for it. The writing was well........ Terrible ( sorry) and bland. That was the first argh moment. Second how many times do we need to hear Shane say "baby" ? Total over kill. I lost respect for Anna the first 2 times having sex in the vet clinic. This was meant to be erotic but I felt it was just just me man you woman I will take control. Nothing erotic about that! I also think on a side note maybe putting a note advising animal cruelty. Kind of surprised me and turned me off the book more. I read a lot of reviews after I finished reading that this author writes like KA............ NO, don't be fooled. There is only one and this writer doesn't come close.

I was recommended to read this book by a friend of mine. Wow, was she correct in thinking that I would like this. I more than liked this novel, I loved it.
In Love's Taming, Dr. Annie Donovan, the local veterinarian, works her fingers to the bone to pay off her student loan bills. One night, a stranger comes to the clinic that she owns needing help with his dog. She is uneasy letting him in, but the dog needed emergency help. Reluctantly, she lets him in and together, they save his dog by performing emergency surgery. The twists and turns that follow keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a definite must read in my book!
Maryann Jordan, I want to read more by you. Your style of writing is so easy to follow, your characters are so realistic and easy to bond with.

This was my first read from the author & I enjoyed it a lot. It was fast-paced, intriguing, passionate and explosive!
You have here a vet whose normal, if not boring life gets entangled with a mysterious alpha stranger who sweeps her off her feet. And there was no turning back. No way. No chance.
Shane was a force to reckon with. He saw. He liked. He conquered. In that order... and fast!
I liked Annie. She was focused, determined, tough yet soft & kindhearted. What she had with Shane was sizzling chemistry. And it couldn't be denied.
This was one roller coaster ride I'm glad I took. I'd definitely read more from Maryann Jordan!

Loved this book!
Love's Taming is a book that makes you aware of 3 things:
1. How criminals will do whatever it takes to complete the task at hand.
2. Shows us the brave men and women who do whatever it takes to make sure those criminals are apprehended.
3. That there are people in this world who only see and do good things. They also trust EVERYONE.
The author did a great job creating a story with all these aspects in mind. It will have you second guessing some of the characters. A story full of mystery, drama, doubts, heart aches, loyalty, and unconditional love. MaryAnn Jordan did a great job on this book. Please one click and enjoy. =)

I loved this book, a five star read!!! This has the romance style with mystery that we know and love from MaryAnn Jordan, but darker and hotter! This story keeps you guessing with its twist and turns, never being predictable. I loved these characters, a strong female and an alpha male that needs this woman to be the light to his darkness. This is one of those books that you won't want to put down until it's finished and then you will find yourself thinking about this book even when you are not reading. This is a must read!!!

Well my first response to this book was Holy Smokes!! I was not expecting this from Maryann at all, it was a more darker read then her Fairview series, bit wow I absolutely loved it!! I love Shane, he is my favorite male character for sure from Maryann's books, total alpha strong but caring guy!! This book was filled with suspense, some drama, and above all a great story of two people being in love!! I can't wait for the next book and anything else Maryann throws our way!! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!!

MaryAnn Jordan Author has a fantastic new release in Love's Taming! I couldn't put it down! This book was so not what I expected it to be. It had me from the very first page not wanting to put it down until the very end. Annie and Shane's story wasn't anything like Maryann's other releases, it raw and unpredictable with twists and turns keeping you at the edge of your seat the whole time. I now have a new book boyfriend and would have given more then Five stars if possible. This is a must read. Maryann you have again created another beautiful book I'm happy to recommend to my friends.

I really enjoyed this book it was really good. Lots of action and mystery sometimes I would think I knew what was going to happen next but then Maryann would have a whole new twist to throw in there and it would completely keep me at the edge of my seat there was so much going on with the characters that I didn't want to put it down until I finished the last page. Mystery, romance... Loved it...

One of the fastest reads, that is how excellent it is. No Spoilers, small review but wonderful. All I can say about Maryann is I truly love her books, She does not write a bad book at all. I can honestly say now, that her books in the future will have a 5 star rating from me. She never disappoints and the love scenes are hot, she makes the men hot and it will leave you wanting him for your own. It is so worth buying this book.

this book is a must read. from the beginning you are caught up in Annie ' s rollercoaster ride of a life. between Stoney and Shane you are caught up in a whirlwind of romance. this book is a on the edge of you seat read. once you start you cannot put it down till you complete the book. cannot wait till next book.

I have been priviledged to read all three of the Fairfield Series by the amazing Maryann jordan! I have read this book so many times I have lost count! All Ican say is this book is the best by far! I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

Another amazing book from an amazing author. Loved how Jake and Tom showed up. Could not put this down had you guessing til the end. Loved it.
