(Description from the back of the book) SAGAEN OM ISFOLKET - etterkommerne til den onde Tengel, som hadde inngått en pakt med djevelen...

Margit Sandemo was a Norwegian-Swedish historical fantasy author. She has been the best-selling author in the Nordic Countries since the 1980s, when her novel series of 47 books, The Legend of the Ice People, was published. She has also written many other book series such as Häxmästaren and Legenden om Ljusets rike.
The Mountain of Demons Nathaniel Gard was born as the choosen one. He supposed to be a leader of Ice People in their fight with evil ascendant and his closest friends were Tova Brink and Ellen Skogsrud. But to defeat Tengel the Evil all forces that can be called have to used against him. Ice People meet at The Mountain of Demons, where many things will be explained and where many decisions will be made - for good and for bad.
I did not like this very much, as it is becomes very obvious in this volume that Sandemo had not made a synopsis from the beginning, with all the people and what was going to happen to them, but that she invents this as she goes along - and then everything does not fit. As this "Rune" thing. Also, when the other volumes in the series can be read separately, this one is completely pointless if you have not read all the earlier volumes.
One of the most important books in the series. Heavy reading since its 90% talking but soooo much in the puzzle comes to place. The family tree is complete and Tengel den Onde (Tengel the Evil) is past and childhood is reviled as well as his years in the Isefolk valley. Sudden clarity Clarence book where you are more disturbed with each sentence.
A necessary book in the series. This is the book that ties in all loose ends and sort of bind all characters through this massive series together. It’s a little more on the slow side, but I feel like it’s a needed part of the story and some parts are very good.
This book seems to serve both as a TL:DR for those who haven't read all the books as well a complimentary to the part which even the faithful reader couldn't know about. In this volume almost all of the Ice People's secrets are revealed. I adore the idea and the secrets and plot is top class, Sandemo certainly has the gift of world-making or whatever one calls it. I did, however, not like how the story was told. Yes I read this volume in English but even so I have read the Swedish versions too and I know that this isn't just one issue or even five. The storytelling just isn't as exciting anymore, it's most definitely fun and interesting for someone whose read most of books and love the characters but if I had read this as my first book I would've gotten bored very quickly. I can't deny that the storytelling has gotten stale in the last 10 or so books, I enjoyed the Heike stories immensely and almost everything before it, Saga's book was a good read and I also liked to read about Tula and André but almost all the others were quite boring or had very frustrating aspect to them, such as Christa's story which only got interesting halfway through. So Plot - 5, Storytelling - 1 = 3?
4,5/5; one of the best parts of saga in my opinion. We "see" every member of Ice People, find out backstories of Tengel's The Evil descendents so it's very interesting. After reading it I have only one question in my head - who the hell is Rune?
Great book! I did not give it 5 stars due to the format that it was written in. Felt like a podcast where the presenter tries to be funny and goofy but fails miserably. It's a necessary book as it completes the family tree of ice people with some backstory for the most important ones. We are also given rushed info regarding tarangai as in the last 10% of the book.
