A breezy narrative over the life and times of the failed christcuck revolutionary that was Louis Riel. Not nearly as in depth as Flanagan's book, but a decent book and well produced audiobook. Guy really could've done something at the end there if he had've had the slightest notion of military tactics, or just simply let Gabriel Dumont do the fighting while he stuck to the prays and propaganda.. but alas, it was not to be and he basically undercut his own revolution by being a sycophant for a false god..

BOOKED 4 THE SUMMER - A book about aboriginal Canadian/American history

Another interesting history of Metis leader/care giver/trouble maker - Reminds me of the story of Justin and Nordeth Larouque - our grand kids great grand parents - and their terrible hardships in Manitoba in the early 1900s

As a western WASP Canadian, I grew up thinking of Louis Riel as a stain on Canada's history. Not so. If you believed as I did, please read this story, decades of ignorance will surely be cleansed from your mind and soul. Louis, I wish I'd known and understood you better.

I stopped reading this book after maybe 10 pages; it really seemed like more of a hagiography and less of a history. :/

The life of Louis Riel, the Métis, and the Francophone and Anglophone settlement of western Canada are topics I'd like to read more about!
