Read all of Ruth. Read all Barbara Vine. Don't love every book, but she almost always raises hairs on the back of the neck. And who doesn't love Inspector Weford? I'm sure my mother had a crush on George Baker, the actor who played him.

This trilogy of novellas is a fascinating read. If you haven't read Ruth Rendell you will find her stories full of suspense. I would say she is the queen of the psychological suspense story. These stories are no exception. Delve into these and get a taste of fear, and the thrill of the chase.

I'm a big fan of crosswords, so 'One Across, Two Down' was always going to be one of my favourites. Once again, Ruth Rendell comes up with the goods - each of these books kept me hooked from the start, and another attraction is the London setting which she uses so often - I love the way her descriptions remind me of some of the locations of my not-very-misspent youth.

Dit boek heb ik niet gelezen, er was ergens iets misgegaan bij het invoeren van de "grafkelder"van Rendell.
Dit schijnt de enige mogelijkheid te zijn om van dit boek af te komen.

Make Death Love Me - very readable although not a page turner as such. Story is a bit like you’d expect to see in a good, low budget, 70s British crime film.
