John hall is a local author who writes much about the forgotten except to a few Kansas Oklahoma Missouri Minor League. This book tells about the life of the leagues most famous alumn Mickey Mantle. Fans of the Mick will enjoy this book, as it portrays him as a shy unsure of himself country boy who only wanted to avoid working in the mines of Northeast Oklahoma. The book ends well before MAntle becomes an icon focusing on what was probably his happiest time of his life. There is stuff in the book that even his family was unaware of.
