This was a great book that told the story of a young country boy who was named Mickey Mantle. Mickey Mantle was a baseball legend that grew up in Oklahoma. His dad was a big baseball fan and wanted his son to make it to "The Show". So, he gave Mickey a bat and a glove and encouraged him to get out and play. After that Mickey did just that and Every day after school, Mickey, his brothers, and friends would go out to the pasture that his Dad had made into a field to practice until he was good enough to make it to the MLB. He would soon become the biggest thing to happens to the Yankees since Babe Ruth. He ended his career with the same team that he started with.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys baseball and wants to learn about an all time great.

This was a good book that told the story of a young country boy who becomes a New York city legend. Mickey Mantle was an icon that grew up in Oklahoma. His dad was a big baseball fan and wanted his son to love the game even more than he did. So, he gave mickey the best gift he could of, a bat and a glove. Everyday after school, Mickey and his brothers and friends would go out to the pasture that his dad had converted to a field to practice and practice until he was ready, ready for the big leagues. He would soon become the biggest thing to happens to the Yankees since Babe Ruth. He ended his carrer with the same team that he started with.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys baseball or sports history. If you are knowing of Mickey Matle, then you would also be entertained by this book.
