This children's book on Ancient Greece is terrific. The main content of each page is a major feature of Ancient Greek life (the agora, gods and goddesses, theater, etc.) presented with detailed pictures and accompanying blocks of text that explain many of the details in the larger picture. Adding interest is a comic book-styled story that is arranged around the perimeter of each page that continues throughout the course of the book. The story involves elements discussed in the body of the pages on which the story is presented (in other words, on the page dedicated to Greek theater, the plot at this point in the ongoing comic book story involves the characters going to a theater). One feature—among many—that I appreciated is the inclusion of many Ancient Greek words (transliterated). An attractive, educational book.
I liked this book, but it was a little hard to follow. The pictures are great, but the content gets lost. Great information that could be used in part of a lesson
