God the man is hot.

Shane Heart is known as a mobster named Vasili Alexandrov. He is on a mission to bring down a ring of Russian criminals who amongst other criminal activity, also deal in women trafficking. Part of his mission is also to capture Anatoly. He is not only the leader of this ring, but he is the Bratva, a syndicate run and controlled by the Russian mafia and he may have information regarding Natalie, who is the sister of his boss Dane and has been missing for four years.

In the process of watching Anatoly and his men, Shane first spots Aurora Ashton (Rory). He hasn't been able to forget her from that first sighting and has not looked at another woman since. Now Rory and her best friend MacDonald Carson have been taken by Anatoly's men. Even though he in no way wants to mess up his mission and fail his boss, he needs to get his girl back. Shane has negotiated a deal to get Rory back. As far as the Russians know he is buying her for himself. His under cover role is of an up and coming criminal that wants to be part of the Bratva.

Rory is one tough cookie. She has been raised in the foster care system and has been fighting for a long time. Now even after being kidnapped and now purchased by Vasili, she fights. She realizes as the time passes that Vasili may not be who he says he is.

This was a short read and there is some mystery about Rory and her best friend and what Anatoly was really after when the girls were taken.

So did I miss a book or prequel here, because starting this book I felt lost and like I had started reading in the middle instead of the beginning. It was a an ok story it could have been really good if I hadn't felt lost throughout the book. Things were said and done to indicate previous knowledge when there wasn't any.... I love continued characters and stories however I'm going to pass on the rest if this is how all books by this author are.

I don't know where to start with this story. From the moment it started I was confused. It seemed as if the reader was thrown into the middle of a story. It was like the whole beginning was missing and you suddenly are 1 page in and find out that this man loves this woman and he needs to save her.
So strange. I don't think I'll be continuing on with the series.

Cliff Hanger and Gave Up!

First I thought this was one not 5 different stories...Secondly it ticked me off the first story, which was good, ended in a FREAKING CLIFF HANGER!!!!!! I hate cliffies!!!! Did I say HATE?!
I gave up after first story not willing to risk the unknown in the next 4 books!!
I will say, I enjoyed the first book and feel all thIs "to be continued" stuff needs to stop cuz I for one, am not purchasing multiple books. There was a great story and wasn't a "let's see how much crass sex we can pile in here hoping the author don't have to create a story". I'm done...DELETE!

Oh, you have GOT to be freaking kidding me!!!! A CLIFFHANGER? You're seriously going to leave us hanging like that, without telling us first? This download is only 12% of the original book, there's some free 5 book set included that I'm NOT reading because they probably end in cliffhangers, too. I'm never reading anything from this author again. It was a good story, too, until the almost end........

Great read

This was a really enjoyable read, there is romance, intrigue, hot alpha males feisty females and a really interesting storyline what more could you want. There is the added bonus of the extra bundle of books, each one a good read on its own, this is excellent value and great reading.
