I wasn't sure at first that I was going to like this book (which I was reading for a class). It seemed at first to just be regurgitating the same material about music-as-a-healing-modality as you could find with a quick Google search, without providing any new details or research.

But as I continued through it, I found that it was useful to have the suggested music lists that the author compiled for each exercise: Energize, Relax, Focus, Heal, Uplift, Cleanse, Create. There's a good buffet of music genres to choose from: rock, swing, cajun, world, lullabies, classical, folk, reggae and on and on. Just listening to the clips will keep me busy on iTunes for awhile.
