This book paints a very good picture of what it is like to live with an autistic child. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about austism and what families face when there is an autistic child.

A fascinating memoir of the joys and sorrows of raising a child on the autistic spectrum. Many of the events mirrored my personal experiences so my view may be colored by parental nostalgia (and parental amnesia!)While I read or heard many such similar stories (and directly observed or experienced many more)Hughes makes his experiences seem both unique and common to all of us who have shared the challenge of parenting a child with autism. It takes very good writing to do this and I recommend the book highly.

This is a terrific book for anyone who wishes to understand what it can be like parenting an autistic child. I am simply amazed at the patience and persistence the author has shown throughout his son's life. I am a parent of a handicapped child and I completely understand his dedication. A must-read!

A eye opening and honest account of life with a son with autism. You will be amazed and overwhelmed with the love and dedication of parents trying to understand their son and searching for the best medical and educational help.

This is a really well written, authentic book that makes it clear what the family is like when there is an autistic child. If you know or have autism in your life, you will want to read this one to follow the experience.

4.5 Incredible read. Great writing. And the deadline for my 8-page book review was two days ago 😗 (a 2000-word minimum about a 200-page book is an UNHINGED assignment in my opinion)
