Dreya has gone from professional cat burglar to feline secret agent in a mere 24 hours. Just when detective Braden Hayes thinks he has finally caught his beautiful burglar red-handed, with the goods and on tape, in waltz the Feds to snap Dreya up and take her away under suspicious circumstances. NOT HAPPENING on Braden’s watch, so he does the one thing that goes against all of the rules, he follows them and gets himself caught up in a world of black ops, shifters and dastardly science experiments.

Meanwhile, Dreya must decide to show Braden who and what she really is and hope she won’t disgust him or take back the friendship they are sharing. As they danger mounts, the chemistry boils over as Braden finds he likes his “woman” on the wild side. What will that mean for them? What does it mean for Braden’s career? Will Dreya switch teams and bat for law and order or will she slink back into the shadows of a life of crime? If not, will they give a whole new meaning to the Dynamic Duo?

Looks like Dreya has met HER TRUE MATCH in Braden. Author Paige Tyler has another suspenseful and sexy hot tale on her hands that could leave readers panting for more. Easy flowing, quick reading, it never gets too heavy, but always keeps readers glued to each page.

I absolutely love Paige Tyler and both of her series, X-Ops and SWAT.

This installment of X-Ops was just as amazing as the others, we find Dreya and Braden coming together in the strangest of circumstances - the thief and the policeman!

Loved the storyline, loved how this amazing couple came together - but what I did not expect was a complete change in the story at the end of the book!!! WOW!!!

Without giving away any spoilers, the future has just taken on a complete different direction and I'm gutted at the 'how this happened' element but at the same time, this direction is going to prevent any stagnation with these shifter couples in the DCO.

I'm excited to move on!!!!

I'm quite a fan of this authors work as she manages to combine steamy romance with suspense that has an almost military edge. These books about the shifters working within the DCA have had a storyline developing throughout that has so many layers that it's fascinating to read how much of it actually comes to glorious fruition in this book . The thread concerning corrupt politicians and evil medics creating hybrids is well and truly into its stride and as we catch up with old friends we start to discover more about the newest characters recently introduced .
So the amazing cat burglar Dreya is our heroine here and she has no idea about shifters when this story starts and truly believes that she's a freak. Dreya recently came under the radar of Thorne when she stole something valuable from him but he's not the only one whose attention she has well and truly snagged! Oh no the stiff , by the book detective Braden Hayes is determined to once and for all get the beautiful but sneaky thief off the streets and in a cell where she belongs . So imagine his shock when two 'feds' turn up and spirit Dreya away! There's something odd going on and acting on instinct Braden sets out to follow but what he finds might mean as a cop he has to bend a few rules!
This author gives yet another very exciting instalment that picks up from previous books but moves forward in such a way that it's jaw dropping ! Getting Dreya onboard with the DCA is just the beginning as the author cunningly weaves a subplot involving other agents and more experimentation to create hybrids. Yet it is essentially the romance that drives this book. Braden is a little closed off but cannot deny there's something very tangible between himself and Dreya. Yes they share chemistry but it's the trust that's important here. I won't lie there is a lot going on in this book which starts to pull in an unexpected direction with an ending that will reverberate through the next few books without a doubt.
This is definitely a series to read in order and ideal for those who enjoy action, intruige and romance!
This voluntary take is of an advance reader arc that Netgalley provided for me and these thoughts are my own opinion

Dreya Clark,  while out on a run of theft from the high end rich, she is caught red handed by none other than the one man that somehow keeps tracking her, Braden Hayes. Braden is a police detective, and even though he is slightly amused by her antics, he also feels duty bound to arrest her since he has caught her in the act and has evidence of it, evidence that could prove that she is slightly more than human. But then agents from the DCO come to Dreya and offer her an opportunity to work with them, instead of going to jail. Dreaya knows she has little choice, and ends up partnered with Braden in the end. They discover that they balance each other completely and Braden ends up being the only partner that Dreya can click with, and as they investigate the making of hybrids from their nemesis.
Plot and Story Line
Paige Tyler steps up the series with Her True Match and man I don't think I will ever get enough of this author or the way she writes these books. And I will admit at first I wasn't sure if I would like it like the other books, but I did love it alot more than I thought that I would. The story itself is pretty exciting in many moments. At the beginning we have our heroine, who has been a thief for ten years. She has feline talents, she can climb walls and jump long distances. Basically, our heroine feels torn between two entities. It was interesting to see how her character handled everything. I did love our hero Braden. Braden was such a solid hero, he plays by the rules, but we see how he learns how to go by his gut feelings and react according to the circumstances. We also get a side plot with Ivy and Landon and Trevor are working to uncover the truth about some hybrid experiments at a mental facility. But these two plots one with Braden and Dreya and our trio actually connect in the end. I think what I loved most was seeing how well Braden and Dreya end up working together.
Braden let the guy collapse to the floor, then took the weapon from his limp hand and dropped it in the toilet.
He turned to find Dreya looking at him with a shocked look on her face.
"What?" he asked.
"You came to get me," she said.
"I'm getting a feeling that is going to be my role in this partnership," he said, grabbing her hand and heading for the door.
"You steal things and I come get your sexy ass out of trouble."
He glanced at her to see her grinning.
"You think I have a sexy ass?"
Braden stifled a groan. Being her partner was going to kill him - or drive him nuts. Tommy was probably laughing so hard, he was surprised he didn't hear the sound coming all the way down from heaven.

They are so well intuned to each other, it is brilliant the way they can fight together and Tyler really steps up the series with the end here. I am not going to lie, I wasn't too pleased with the cliffhanger the author gives us, a bit of a shock with what happens to one of my favorite side characters but we will see how Tyler progresses the series from here.
The Cover
I really love the goldish yellow tones here, and yeah our male model is super ripped, I am so not going to complain.

In Her True Match, we have a masterful story teller that brings the passion and chilling excitement that this author brings to the table....edge of your seat adventure will lots of twists along the way that is guaranteed to stimulate the sense!!

I know it probably shouldn't matter but why did the cover artist have to make the male model look so bizarre? The weird oil glow didn't do him any favors when standing beside the female who looks perfectly normal. That being said don't let the cover deter you from picking up this installment of the X Ops series, Tyler went all out for her readers. We get some crossing over with multiple leads and plots intersecting that become important to the final half of the book.
B&D play well off one another despite all the head butting, the clashing of personalities and the insta-flirtations. Although I wasn't surprised by the instant attraction formula between our h&h I was surprised that one of them didn't slap the other at some point with all the bickering and back and forth going on at the beginning.
I did like that we moved along the plot because I would have been frustrated to have a stall out this far in at this point to have it just simmer on pause. I hate when authors do that it wastes an opportunity to really bring the readers in. Tyler has no issue focusing on both her h&h and the story line to keep readers fully involved and invested. Thank you Tyler.
However I am a tad concerned on the twist and the current lines of goodies verses baddies and who really is good and who isn't. The black and white lines are starting to gray around the edges and its complicating both reader and character alliances.
I have to admit I'm a little worried. I look forward to seeing what Paige has planned with her devious genius.

I've been wanting to read Dreya and Braden's romance since they appeared in an earlier X-Ops story, and am delighted with how this story plays out! Braden has kept his eye out for Dreya since their first meeting and when he catches her on a break and enter gig, he is torn over what to do with her. Luckily, the Department of Covert Operations has their own plans for Dreya and she becomes a trainee for them, using her feline shifter talents to become one of the good guys, with Braden hot on her heels to keep her out of trouble. There is an interesting subplot involving a mental asylum that is being used as a cover for producing shifter hybrids, with colleague Trevor going undercover to determine what's happening. Once Dreya's training is complete, she and Braden end up on a mission with Trevor and there is lots of action as things get complicated! Several previous characters from earlier X-Ops books make an appearance and while we get a complete (and sexy!) romance for Dreya and Braden, the overall series arc continues and things are left on a bit of a cliffhanger for the crew. The books are designed that you can easily jump in and read any book in the series and pick up what's happening, though you may want to start at the beginning of the series to know who all the characters are as they tend to make appearances throughout. It's a fun, sexy, exciting and action packed paranormal romance.

HER TRUE MATCH is another fast paced, action-filled and entertaining addition to the X-Ops series. Time is running out on the team to find what they need to expose a conspiracy at the DCO and the newest team members may be the ones to help with that.

A cat burglar and a police detective are an unusual pairing, but Dreya Clark isn't your everyday cat burglar. She needs the challenge to keep her shifter half sane, and her extraordinary abilities have ensured both a successful stint and kept her out of jail, but detective Braden Hayes is very determined to end her lucky streak.

The cat and mouse game Dreya and Braden have been involved in has built an unexpected bond of trust between them, one that comes in handy when they both get drafted as new agents to the DCO and have to go on assignment immediately. Dreya isn't very trusting of anyone, which is why her easy acceptance of Braden is such a big deal, and Braden is a by-the-book cop, with reason, so following his instincts when it comes to Dreya is out of character for him.

Both characters were easygoing and likable, with little drama between them. Dreya is smart and sassy and very independent. Braden is a rule follower and very good at his job, but also a really great guy who's compassionate and protective. His easy acceptance of her is a huge point in his favor and the chemistry between them is so hot. The only point of conflict between them was their approach to their assignment. Dreya flies by the seat of her pants while Braden prefers caution, so they need to find a middle ground or their first assignment could also be their last.

I have enjoyed every book of Ms. Tyler's I've read so far and this is no different. It builds on the story-line from the first book and I have to say that I can't wait for the next installment especially because of the way this one ended. This is not my favorite book in the series because Dreya and Braden's relationship didn't have the explosive chemistry of others before it, but the suspense and intrigue at the DCO always has me on edge, so it's still a great read overall and I will strongly recommend reading the series in order, to enjoy it.

The latest installment in the exciting X-Ops series picks up on the tail of the story before it with a pair I was intrigued by when they were introduced in book five. The cat burglar- emphasis on cat- and the cop. Yeah, that was a fun idea for a romance, but the suspense as the group seeks to track down the evidence against powerful ex-senator Thorne and his cronies added the excitement.

This series works best read in order as the X-Ops world is explained earlier and an ongoing suspense thread weaves through each book.

Her True Match opens on a few ongoing story threads like Landon and Ivy out in the field while John is directing from the office trying to get the dirt on Thomas Thorne, but Danika and Clayne are there when Dreya Clark, the cat shifter thief from Her Rogue Alpha is back and she gets caught by Detective Braden Hayes. He instinctively knows her every move and he has to stop her, but his instinct flares into action again when Dreya is removed from his custody and he follows.

Dreya and Braden are introduced to the clandestine organization of mission teams and the secret of the shifter existence. Dreya must figure out if she can leave behind the high-octane world of crime to work on the side of the good guys while Braden wonders if she can even while needing to be her partner through it all.

Meanwhile, another hybrid lab is discovered and Landon, Ivy, and Trevor must infiltrate and rescue the trapped shifters then destroy the lab and capture the scientist. Thorne's looming shadow at their back keeps them on their toes.

Alright, this one had a lot of good elements and I'm still reeling from that finish, but I have to admit that this one was not a big hit with me compared to the earlier books. I think a few things factor into this. For one, there is so much going on and more than one direction to be tugged so that I couldn't settle into any of the story lines well. I felt that the multiple threads kept things from being developed as they should particularly Dreya and Braden's story. And, then, the way the labs, the cruel scientists, the crazed hybrids made another predictable appearance- track it down, destroy it, rinse and repeat.

I know I made it sound like I didn't like the story when I did, but I just wanted to share why I wasn't as into it. Now that said, I want to keep going, meet new X-Ops teams while getting more of all the ones I love. And yowsers, yes, I want to see what the fallout will be after the way this one ended on a bang.

This series is a good match for folks who enjoy their paranormal romance set in a black ops thriller world with some spicy passion for its romance pairs.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Her True Match 'Her True Match' by Paige Tyler is book Six in the "X-Ops" series.  This is the story of Dreya and Braden.  I have not yet read the other books so for me this was a standalone book.  Dreya is a cat burglar and doesn't really now about sifters. Braden is a detective that has been trying to pin Dreya down to the crimes she has been committing.  When he does get the chance to take her in for a crime she was caught red-handed in she gets taken in by the 'Feds'.  But Braden doesn't give up so easily and follows them to see where she is being taken.  This starts Dreya and Braden on an adventure.  But along the way they seem to start having feelings for each other. Can Dreya trust Braden with her secret?  Can Braden get past what Dreya did and is?Wow...this was a really exciting book that was hard to put down.  *A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection*https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1...  https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/A2H... https://romancebookreviewforyou.wordp... https://www.tumblr.com/blog/romancebo...

I enjoyed this installment of the X-Ops series. I knew with Dreya being introduced in the last book, that this would be all about her, and it was. I liked the way you understood why she and Braden behaved the way they did. Well, some things seemed to jump forward, but for the most part, they acted as expected for their characters. They sure made a smoking hot couple that easily moved past sexual and in to a real partnership. The beginning was more about building their relationship and then moved in to non-stop action and danger. A real page-turner that sure didn’t end the way I expected. Good book.

"Her True Match" is another great book in the 'X-Ops' series with Braden the cop and Dreya the cat burglar. We met them only briefly in the previous book, 'Her Rogue Alpha'. Braden has been trying to catch her for a long time, and when he does, they are both recruited into DCO (Department of Covert Operations) for some real undercover cat burglar work. There we meet some familiar faces in the DCO from previous stories, but the main focus is on Braden and Dreya and their current mission. DCO familiars and new recruits are working to weed out those corrupted at the top level. There was great chemistry between the H and h as well as with others from previous stories. I have read all of the stories in this series, but each book stands on its own. I have to say given that, the ending in this one is as always a HEA for the main characters, but what transpired at the end of the story for DCO and others will have me looking for the next read in this series. I love Paige Tyler's books and I hope to see the next one soon. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for gifting me with "Her True Match" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!

I was so glad to read Dreya and Braden's story and pairing them together was perfect! Dreya has been a "cat" burglar for a long time and Braden the cop is determined to catch her in the act. Finally Braden gets lucky and catches her in the act but when he takes her in the FBI or some government group shows orders and takes her away. Braden isn't comfortable with this and follows them so when they stop and offer to let him come with them he goes, that's when he finds out they want Dreya for her special abilities and if she stays for five days she can walk away if she doesn't want the job. The job they are training her for is to get into places others can't and during her training they realize that she trusts Braden so they make him her partner. As they begin to work really well together they get called on a job that others can't take because they short handed, it is a hybrid facility in Maine. The danger is very real as three of the best are already there but can Braden and Dreya be of any help and survive, also save the hybrid on the lose? This story has danger, action and of course romance which makes it even better.

Dreya knows that she is kind of a freak. She has literal claws that can come out on comand or in times of distress. The night-vision is kind of cool but it makes her eyes glow, so not to be done in mixed company. Her extraordinary hearing and smell can make the world overwhelming but over time Dreya has learned to block most of the extra senses. Speed, balance, reflexes all contribute to her success as a cat burglar.

Braden was hoping his favorite thief had left town and turned over a new leaf. When she is spotted up to her usual tricks he has another chance to arrest her, and his time the evidence is incontrovertible. Braden doesn't know Dreya's story, but he can anticipate her actions, can guess when she is going to bail, and where she will run.

When federal agents crash his interrogation to steal his thief Braden has a gut feeling something is wrong. Are his personal feelings getting in the way of good police work? Why can't he just let this go and leave her alone.

I loved this book! The second storyline running along Braden and Dreya's story is full of action and questions to be answered in a later book. No irritating cliffhanger but the end drives a clear message to the reader about where the series is going from here. No spoilers for the length for the series or who's tale will come next. Read on my friends.

We first met Dreya and Braden in HER ROGUE ALPHA. Dreya was a cat burglar--literally. She was a talented second-story thief who thought she was a freak. In HER TRUE MATCH she discovers that she's a feline shifter.

Braden was a smart, determined detective in HER ROGUE ALPHA who investigated Dreya's theft of a diamond and a mysterious box from Senator Thorn. Thorn sits on the "board" of the DCO and is corrupt.

In HER TRUE MATCH, Braden--who has come to understand Dreya very well--captures her red-handed. But Braden has seen too much and Dreya knows too much and the DCO ends up recruiting both of them. They become partners and are thrown into nail-biting assignments. They also fall for each other.

That's all suspenseful and exciting. But what really defines this book, what makes it a game-changer, is the shocking, jaw-dropping ending. I'm in denial and hoping that not all is as it seems. Regardless, the DCO undergoes a violent upheaval. Will it ever really recover?

Fans of the series can't miss this one.

WOW! This book is a fast paced whirlwind that will suck you in and not let you go even after the last page has been turned.
The crook and the cop. We first met Dreya and Braden in HER ROGUE ALPHA. Dreya had to hide out for a bit but now she is back and up to her old tricks. Cop Braden Hayes hoped that she had given up her risky behavior after losing her mentor and almost getting killed herself but here she is doing an impossible mission type burglary and he is going to arrest her this time. Dreya is scared, for the first time she has been righteously caught red handed by the hot cop. They are both pissed off and confused when the DCO claims her. Dreya and Braden are both in for a world of surprises not the least of which is falling for each other.
This story opens up a whole new arc for the X-Ops series and I for one can’t wait to see where the author takes us. Strap in for a hell of a ride.

This book was fantastic from the beginning to end. Surprise twists and just amazing.
Dreya as you know is a thief. The only one who seems to be able to catch her is Detective Braden
Hayes. He always knows where she'll be. Her latest capture is different.

Braden doesn't know what to do with Dreya. There's something about her. The things she does are
beyond human. When two FBI agents walk in on his interrogation with her he doesn't know what
to make of it. What does he do? He has no choice he has to let them take her.

The plot thickens and Braden needs to follow. He'll do anything for Dreya.
While Dreya has no clue what's going on, she learns some interesting things .
The shock is what her skills mean, and that Braden wants to be part of her new life. .

Highly recommend this book, and all before.

Review originally posted at RabidReads.ca.

Her True Match is another great installation in Paige Tyler’s X-Ops series. I truly love this series with it’s mix of spy and black ops type missions entangled with a paranormal shifter world that is different from many of the shifters that we typically read about. In this world, shifters haven’t come out to the majority of humans. They also don’t shift entirely into their animal forms like in most shifter stories. They grow fangs and claws and their eyes will change. They have enhanced senses and some of the personality traits of their other shifter form (like cat shifters that feel the need to get out and hunt, even isn’t the same kind of hunting that a cat would do).

In this story, we follow Dreya. She’s a cat shifter and a cat burgler. We met her in the previous book, Her Rogue Alpha, when she stole something very important from a very evil man. She fled the country before he had her killed, but not before others will killed looking for her. She’s now come back to DC and is back in the thieving game. That’s when Detective Braden Hayes actually catches her in the act of stealing something from a very high, hard to access apartment building. He also witnesses some feats that shouldn’t be possible for a human. DCO (Department of Covert Affairs) bails her out, but Detective Hayes won’t let it go and follows them when she leaves.

So there’s this storyline of Hayes and Dreya working together to join DCO as a team. They also come together romantically. Hayes has to come to terms with the fact that Dreya isn’t human. He does take to that very well. They go a few missions together before officially signing on.

There’s also another storyline that is following Ivy and Landon and their quest to bring down the hybrid research centers. This time, they bring along a coyote shifter named Trevor. Trevor gets himself committed into a mental hospital where the lab is at. He works to gain access to the ward with the hybrids. While in the hospital, he meets a young girl. She’s worried about her friend who was taken into this ward where the hybrid labs are at.

This is another great addition to this series. With the two storylines going, there is no shortage of action. It also makes for a great overall story arc for the series. I would recommend starting this series at the beginning because of this series story arc. The hybrid search is a great storyline, but it is also a bit repetitive. Ivy and Landon find a lab, infiltrate the lab, kill or rescue shifters or hybrids, doctors get away, rinse and repeat. It’s a fun story, but we’ve seen similar scenarios in several books now.

I do love this series, even if there are a few things that are repetitive. The romance isn’t as strong as some PNR. That isn’t an issue for me, but for people looking for more of the romance and less of the suspense, this story is much stronger on the suspense side of things. I love suspense and lots of action, so that works great for me. I also want to say that the ending of this story changes a lot of things. It will be very interesting to see where Ms. Tyler takes the story from here, because it will not be following the same path that it’s been on. That ending was amazing.

Trevor almost followed after the woman when she turned and walked away so he could ask her if it was legal to work in a mental health facility if you hadn’t seen One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. He decided not to bother. Being snarky lost all its appeal if you had to explain it.

When she found one she like—a gray shirt with the word Property of the Metro PD across the front—she laughed. A thief wearing a shirt like this should be in the dictionary somewhere under the definition of irony.

Her True Match is the 6th book in the X-Ops series by Paige Tyler. Here we finally follow the main characters of thief and feline shifter-Dreya Clark and police officer Braden Hayes. Braden has been trying to catch Dreya in the act, but until now she has always stayed one step ahead of the law and him. One night, Dreya's luck changes when Braden catches her sneaking out of one of her jobs. Dreya believes her time is finally up, when the DCO steps in to save her. Their story should end there, but for some reason Braden can't seem to leave Dreya with the mysterious organization and decides to tag along. Surprisingly the couple begins to connect and seems to work well together; which ends up coming in handy when the two are sent on a mission together, where their survival and others, depends on their teamwork.

This book has been sitting on my TBR from the moment I finished book 5, and also sitting on my library wish list for just as long. I was beyond thrilled when my copy finally became available. I have been waiting to read Dreya and Braden's story for what seems like forever! Luckily, this book absolutely delivered everything I had been waiting for. Once again, Paige Tyler sucked me into her story, this world, and I absolutely loved reading Dreya and Braden's journey; they seemed perfect for one another even though they seem to be an unlikely pair.

I also loved being able to see peeks of known and loved past characters. This book didn't go in quite the direction I assumed it would, but it worked wonderfully; I'm excited to see where the story goes next, and see if some of my new assumptions are correct. Book 7-Her Dark Half, had already been on my TBR but after reading this book, I can't wait to get my hands on a copy; I am definately itching to read it!

I have fallen in love with this series from the moment I read book 1 and look forward to happily reading where this series takes me.

Another great book in this series. I liked the pairing up of Dreya and Braden. The whole opposites attract thing was a great book. The action, as always, was top-notch.

This was one incredibly action packed, adventure filled, hilarious, paranormal romance that you will not want to miss out on.

Braden Hayes is a good detective, matter of fact he is one of the best in his district. And it is all thanks to his first partner. Thanks to his first partner he realized that he should not break the rules, and he made his job his life because loosing his friend and partner in a shoot out took away his desire to work fully on instinct. And he has been happy with his life..... That is until he her. Dreya Clark. Cat burglar extraordinaire. And the reason why she is so good at her "job"? It's because she doesn't seem to keep or sell any of the items she steals. But why would she possibly do that? This question is what has haunted Braden since he first interrogated her and this question is what led to him becoming the one person in the world that knows Dreya, the real Dreya.

Dreya Clark is a cat burglar because her "instincts" demand it of her. She needs the action and the challenges in order to stay sane. But her latest burglary may end her up in a situation that not even her special abilities can get her out of. Especially since Braden may have actually found a way to get her charges to stick, and the federal government is interested in her......for a job?

This was one amazing paranormal romance, I absolutely adored Dreya because her snarky/prickly exterior covering her warm nature is what I, and so many other people out in the world, try to project to "outsiders". The only difference is the fact that her claws are a bit sharper than mine could ever be.
The author wrote an amazingly riveting romance that I highly recommend any paranormal romance lovers read. Paige Tyler is an author with a writing style you will not want to pass up on.

***Contains Spoilers***

Okay, so I hardly ever write reviews...HOWEVER, I am a HUGE believer in the idea that if you put a couple together in a series, and give them their book, YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO KILL ONE OF THEM OR BREAK THEM UP LATER ON. They're sacred.
SO, on that note, I am really hoping that John Loughlin did not in fact die in this book, that his death was staged, or that Cree was able to protect him and they faked his death. Seeing as how her protecting him WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THEIR BOOK, Her Secret Agent. So, I'm going to be positively optimistic and assume that John is in fact still alive and will come back to DCO, and even hope that maybe Cree will now be able to come out of the shadows and meet the other shifters as well. Maybe they can even go on to form their own little version of Dumbledore's Army against Dick.
However, if this is not the case, and John is in fact dead, then I will unfortunately have to say goodbye to what has become one of my favorite series. I'm sorry but I just don't believe that after you give a book couple their Happily Ever After, that you can then go and rip that apart later on, and I'm strongly against any series that does that. Especially, since we know John and Cree went on to have a daughter who we even got to meet.
As of now I currently have faith that the series' story arc will be restored (Paige Tyler PLEASE don't disappoint) however we will have to see.

Oh, and as for Dreya & Braden's story, obviously I loved it, just as I did all the others. I'm really hoping for more Dreya & Ivy bonding in the future. If not for the John thing, it would have absolutely been a 5 star rating.

Her True Match is the sixth installment of the X-Ops series by Paige Tyler

Dreya Clark is feline shifter that put the sexy in cat burglar. That was until she was caught stealing redhanded. The only way for her to stay out of jail is to use her shifter abilities by helping the Department of Covert Operations. However, this kitty-cat isn’t to0 keen to being tied up.

Braden has been playing at and mouse with Dreya for years, but when she’s taken away to help an organization that specializes in dangerous missions, he isn’t about her to let her go off alone. However, Braden finds out that this cat burglar is much more than she lets on.

Will these two be able to contain their passion or will it get too hot to handle?

Even though I’ve read a good amount of Paige Tyler’s books, I have to say that I really enjoyed Her True Match. Dreya may be feline, but she knows how to hold her own in a fight. She’s strong, sexy, confident and down right sassy. Which I love. Though, Braden isn’t someone to scoff at either. He’s compassionate, protector, fierce loyal and a sweet guy. These two make the ultimate duo as we watch sparks and clothes fly as these two embark on a deadly mission while keeping their passion for one another at bay. But even then, the dam breaks. And when it does, it’s glorious. In addition to great chemistry, the storyline was exciting, thrilling and fresh. I look forward to reading more of her work.

The menagerie of animal shifters that I thought I’d be reading about so early in the series hasn’t yet come to pass and as I suspect, won’t ever. The shifters here merely shift partially, and Tyler does provide a believable-enough explanation for their genetic makeup and behaviour. The pairing of a shifter with a law-enforcement/ex-military character seems to be the default pairing here, though I’ve largely enjoyed the ways that they get together, and ‘Her True Match’ follows this self-same pattern. The cat thief and the cop is a pairing that had been set up in the previous book, so ‘Her True Match’ feels like a natural step for Braden and Dreya to come together.

I was nevertheless surprised to see how Braden and Dreya get on without the bumps I’d expected, but this—this relatively angst-free, easy get together—is probably a defining point as well of this series. Like others before them, Tyler made Braden/Dreya a pairing that get together without much difficulty, particularly since many of her her male heroes don’t seem to have any difficulty accepting that their heroines are part-feline with enhanced senses. The plot itself is interesting, as is the sub-plot and Trevor’s undercover role, though I thought Tyler’s focus on Ivy/Landon here as in all the other books gets tiring in a way that felt as if they are a pairing Tyler can’t let go of.

There are parts as well, that don’t seem to be addressed sufficiently or satisfactorily—Dreya being let off with stupid actions that seem to be beyond reproach, for instance. Keeping secrets from Braden despite the pledge of trust and partnership they make—with this indirectly leading to consequences that no one could have foreseen—yet having Braden think it is his fault (with his unfailing loyalty to a woman who might not fully deserve it) when Dreya hadn’t owned her own part in it put me off her quite a bit.

Still, that far down this series, I’m still not entire sure what to say about it. The villain’s villany grows—this does drag on as each book uncovers the villainy just a little bit more—as are there as well, parallel events that are anchored by Ivy/Landon as well as the hero/heroine of the next book to come. I’m invested enough to want to continue, though not jumping in excitement with the rather slow-moving overall narrative arc where the main characters still don’t seem to catch on quickly enough about the true motives of the bad guys.

Review courtesy of All Things Urban Fantasy:

I don’t know why Paige Tyler’s two series are so different, but where I adore the SWAT (Secret Werewolf Alpha Team) series, the X-Ops series just isn’t my cup of tea. It’s not as fun as the first, and the characters aren’t as likeable or deep.

There are so many layers of confusion created by the split loyalties within the team that I can no longer keep track of who is good and who is bad. The leaders of the X-Ops, a kind of FBI who use shifters’ powers to get their missions done, are all more or less evil, both employing shifters but treating them as subhuman. They are also all individually funding research into creating more shifters by experimenting on them and creating violent hybrid creatures. The concept that the teams wouldn’t just kill their bosses outright instead of trying to subvert and mitigate them from the inside is preposterous; if they’re being screwed anyway, why not just slit his throat with your claws and stop him from hurting dozens more of your kind?

I did appreciate that the two characters had a previous relationship before working together for this book. Often times the characters are thrown together and we’re meant to believe it was fated love all along. Dreya and Braden have been circling each other for a long time, albeit on opposite sides of the law. Once forced to work together, they actually mesh quite well.

HER TRUE MATCH also featured the most cliched prologue ever. When the older cop tells the rookie to trust his instincts, you know he’s going to be murdered ASAP. It was a waste of 15 pages.

In the end, there was a lot of setup for a book that barely advanced the plot of the series until the final few pages. There is little to no pay out for a whole side plot. I know some villains need to survive for the next book, but come on.

As is the norm for one of Ms. Tyler’s books this is a very fast pace action packed, humorous wonderful read from the first page to the last it is a book you won’t be able to put down. Each of her stories get better and better but you haven’t seen nothing yet.

Dreya needs challenges, action, thrills and adventure that cat burglar brings her. Over time Dreya and Braden have played this cat and mouse game there has always been a strong attraction with some major chemistry going on. Dreya loves getting under his skin which makes Braden more determined to get proof. Braden knows she is a thief but has not been able to find proof until now this might be her last adventure if he has anything to do with it. He is trying his best to make the charges stick against Dreya which leaves her right in the eye of the government who would love to spend some time with her learning all about her special powers. When the FB gets their hands on her Braden is uneasy when they take her away he follows. There are some very interesting parts here but one thing leads to another as the team up and become partners. Both bring their own skills to the table making a wonderful team taking down criminals but as their mission becomes dangerous when they try to an agent out of the hospital why fighting the bad guys and trying to find answers for the DCO things take a turn. Will they learn to work as a team or will this be their last mission with death being the only way out.

The way the author bring the story to life with the cat and mouse game really pulls the reader in. Dreya has trust issues and for her give her trust to Braden takes a lot. Even though Braden has issues with her he never treats her different and accepts her with her special powers. Dreya is a very easy character to like she is sassy, has no trouble standing on her own, she holds her ground in a fight never backing down, confident and strong. Braden is just a sweetheart, proud, compassionate and very protector, just an all round nice guy who has no trouble doing the job he is given. When things get tough he pulls his weight but still keeping Dreya protected. Sparks fly as they put their minds to the job putting the passion at bay even makes the love scenes even better when nature takes it course and clothes start flying.

I really enjoyed this passionate filled suspense with so much action and thrills it gets your heart pumping as you hang on the edge waiting to see what happens. It is just as thrill and heart pumping when these two finally come together as you watch their passion ignite you take a deep breath and hold it. WOW what a powerful love scenes. Oh what a heart stopping ending you are in for a thrilling ride. I just love this story and can’t wait for the next on to come out.
