This book is all about dragons...or so you would think.



We actually don't get to see much of their dragon form, except by the end of the book. And for me, that OK. That didn't bother me at all. The plot was well written and I found the dialogue between the two main characters quite refreshing. Also, the concept of the story is quite interesting, since a dragon can only have one mate. But as it happens, what if you have two twin brothers and only one possible mate. Yeah, that's not a good outcome. As if that wasn't enough trouble, add to that a slimy, backstabbing fox lady from the Middle Ages and you have two dragons wreaking havoc right and left. That is until both get cursed for five hundread years and to my utmost satisfaction the fox lady gets toasted.



Literally, she gets turned into a nice pile of dust...



Anyway...

Now it's up to Zander and Rena to clean up the mess. And their road is a rough one.
For once you don't get the insta love but you do get some highly explosive sexual tension between them. There aren't that many sex scenes but for this story just the right amount. Given the guilt Zander carries for his past deeds, the love story takes awhile to fully develop. There's quite some push-pull play but not too much. To me it was like reading an old couple bickering and then making up. So, all in all quite enjoyable. Also the paranormal part was great and you got the enswers that you needed to understand the new world. Simply a great first read from this author.

Undiscovered 'Undiscovered' by Sara Humphreys is book One in the "Amoveo Rising" series. This is the story of Zander and Rena. Zander and his brother were cursed and that time is almost over that they can break the curse. Zander lost his Dragon Clan powers and is left in human form where his twin brother is left in dragon form and never complicates. But during on of Zander's dreams he sees Rena and his brother speaks one word to her "Mine'. This has caused Zander to think that Rena can possible break the curse. Rena is a Private Detector raised in and out of homes as a child. But finally taken in by a elder man who taught her to be a PI. When Zander walks into her office asking her to help find his brother, Rena is shocked. This was the man who had entered into her dreams and help save her during her dream state. Rena knows there is something more going on her but she agrees to go forward and help him. Wow! A truly remarkable shifter novel. This is the first book kicking off the Amoveo Rising series. The first chapter will have you glued to your seats and your heart racing. Zander is one dragon who will not only melt your panties but your heart as well. He is centuries old and hot as sin. Rena, a strong protagonist, is quite unique in her abilities and is searching for answers about her gift. The spirit streams that Rena references really piqued my interest. Zander and Rena sizzle the pages while Zander sets out to help his twin brother.

You don't often come across dragon shifters, so this is a great chance for paranormal romance fans to pick up something different. Give me a nicely developed plot and a happily ever after, and I'm a happy camper. This is a new-to-me author, so now I can't wait to delve into her other books. It seems I have a lot of catching up to do. Oh, what fun!

Cursed brothers redemption begins. First runner up: Zander.
It took awhile for any of the cast members to grow on me and its hard to explain but mostly the automatic you got no choice condition irked me more than once through the book. Both in Zanders case and in Rena's.
Zander knows what its like to have something put upon him without his say so, so when he constantly uses the same tactics on Rena it had a tendency to get on my nerves because really - hypocrite.
Despite that I did like Zander and Rena together as a couple and I did like the world building that Humphreys has created in this book.
I hit a snag at one point though because I thought this was the first book to the A- Rising series - which it is but it felt as if it were attached to another series I hadn't read yet. I'm not sure where it ties in however the author does not leave you lacking in information as its well detailed in what's going on. So regardless of whether you've read her previous books shouldn't matter. Although I would like to note I do plan on catching up on them because I have a feeling it matters in some form.
I'd like to note that dragon- shifters are hard to write on paper and bring to life so the fact that Humphreys really goes for it gains some level of respect in my book. I'd also like to note that she handles it well enough even though we don't get the whole dragon thing as much as I'd like I am keeping in mind this is the intro so I'm being patient.
I did appreciate Zander as a character because he has a lot of family devotion loyalty going on and that's endearing so I'm totally clinging to that. Plus he's sexy so points for him anyway.
Undiscovered is a fascinating read that I fully enjoyed. I highly recommend.

How in the world have I NOT heard of these Amoveo's and all their glory??? I mean, I AM a PNR lover and this is right up my ally. Geez. I've got some catching up to do. But here's the cool part. I didn't feel like I missed anything from the previous series that this is clearly a spinoff from. And I can't wait to continue this one.

Rena has been by herself for as long as she can remember. She was in foster care for years before she got fed up and just ran away. Why? Because she's different. She sees things that others don't and has never been able to trust anyone long enough to fill them in on her special skills. But after years of having a reoccurring dream (more like nightmare), everything changes and she's finally getting some answers that she's been looking for. But those answers come with a price. What's that? Her heart.

Zander is one of the last of his kind. Well technically, he IS the last of his kind considering his twin brother has been in hibernation for over five hundred years. After a dreadful event all those years ago, both brothers were cursed by a witch. The only way to break that curse is for Zander to find his brothers mate before the anniversary of that dreadful day. But finding his twins mate has started a chain reaction that Zander nor Rena were prepared for. Will they make it to the hibernation cave before it's too late? Will their hearts survive what fate has in store?

I was absolutely pulled in to this story from the opening page. This author did a wonderful job incorporating a dreamrealm and reality (well in the book anyway). The plot was so riveting that I just KNEW with each turn of the page, I was going to get closer to finding out who Rena was, if Zed was going to wake up, if Zander and Rena were ever going to accept THEIR fate and who the hell Vito really was. Although Zander and Rena's story may have concluded, I know who's next and boy oh boy, I can't wait!

REVIEW: UNDISCOVERED is the first installment in Sara Humphreys’ contemporary AMOVEO RISING paranormal romance series-a spin of from her AMOVEO LEGEND series. This is dragon shifter Zander Lorens, and private investigator Rena McHale’s story line. You do not have to have read the previous series to understand the story line premise. Any important information is revealed where necessary.

SOME BACKGROUND: The Amoveo are an ancient race of telepathic, dream walking shape shifters who hide their identity behind a human façade. If a male Amoveo has not found his mate by the time he has turned thirty, he will begin to lose his ‘animal other’ and live out the rest of his life as human; if an Amoveo loses his or her mate, they will slowly lose the ability to shift and die a lonely death. I have read several books by Sara Humphreys and I love her paranormal interpretations, especially when it comes to vampires and shapeshifters. In Undiscovered, she continues her intriguing interpretations of shapeshifters that she calls Amoveo as well as an introduction to a rare species of Dragon shapeshifters.

Zander Lorens has lived in utter agony for the past 500 years because of a curse that made him immortal yet unable to use his Dragon powers. Plus, his twin brother has been stuck in hibernation for 500 years. They both have been cursed to re-live a tragic event every night of their existence. A chance encounter with a woman named Rena McHale during one of these dreams leads Zander on a path to end the curse and free both himself and his brother, Zed. Unbeknownst to Rena, she is part Amoveo and has some amazing abilities yet to be discovered although she does use one gift as a private investigator. She can locate anyone just by touching something that belongs to them. When Zander locates Rena in Las Vegas, he opens her up to an entire new world and also opens up her heart. Unfortunately, Zander is convinced that Rena is meant to be his brother Zed’s mate so he denies the strong attraction that he has to her. Rena, on the other hand, has other plans and insists that fate can’t determine who she falls in love with.

It was interesting to watch Rena find out what she really is after living her life as an orphan and believing that she was some sort of freak. However, it was painful to see how Zander has been literally tortured for centuries and has taken the blame for everything that happened to him and his brother. I will also have to say that parts of the book were a little too predictable. I wish that Sara had thrown in a plot twist or two but I still enjoyed the book. Rena and Zander were good for each other.

It’s always a treat full of anticipation when an author gives me another, slightly different look through a bridge or spin-off series, at a favorite series of mine. And Sara Humphreys filled my wish box to overflowing with Undiscovered, the first in the Amoveo Rising series. If you are a lover of Paranormal Romance and you haven’t yet read Amoveo Legend I would strongly suggest that you check that series out. While it’s not necessary to have read the first to enjoy this new series, it will add to your enjoyment of this unique universe. Plus it’s an amazing series, and any time there is a cross over of previous characters or situations they are explained within the current story easily and smoothly so you won’t have missed anything … except a really good PNR series.

I loved Zander and Rena, both individually and together as a couple. Rena has had only herself to watch over throughout the years of being shuttled through the foster system, right up until she ran and took control of her own life. Her unique abilities have always served her well, but in her chosen profession as a private investigator they certainly come in handy. Zander is in a desperate search for his twin brother. Both are dragon shifters, both were once the victim of a nasty piece of work and have been cursed to live apart from their other half. Zen is in hibernation trapped in his dragon form, Zander is trapped in his human form without his dragon powers. Over the long years Zander has had recurring, dream-walking types of dreams where a woman is vital to their survival, he believes her to be his twin’s mate and bringing them together will break the curse, returning them to their natural state. Rena is that woman but Zander never ever expected to discover the attraction, the draw between them, one he is fighting but he will eventually lose that particular battle. The race is on to save two dragons who are coming to the end date of a curse that will destroy them if the solution is not found in time.

Undiscovered is a gritty, intriguing, steamy journey of love in different forms – love for a brother, love for a woman and an epic battle with evil that seems never ending. I was captured from the start and by the ending I was deeply in love with not only these characters but the concept of this new series. I am so looking forward to the next story in Amoveo Rising and would highly recommend this story for anyone who loves Paranormal Romance, a good story and engaging characters.

I'm so excited about this new spinoff series! UNDISCOVERED is the first book in Sara Humphreys' Amoveo Rising series featuring a new Dragon Clan that is set in her Amoveo world. I would rommend reading the Amoveo Legends series before starting this one, but it can be read as a standalone. I'm obsessed with dragon shifters and I love this new spinoff storyline. UNDISCOVERED has plenty of action, mystery and smoking hot romance. Zander and Rena were explosive together and I loved their story. I highly rcommend this series for paranormal romance lovers. I can't wait to get my hands on the the next book!

Initial Thoughts: This novel begins a new story arc for the Amoveo series. I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a pleasant surprise. The new mythology of Zander and the dragons was compelling. The curse and his stalwart determination to free his brother were compelling. I enjoyed the romance between Zander and Rena, especially as it smoldered in the background. However it was disconcerting that Rena was so betrayed it seems by everyone. Zander nobly wanting to sacrifice himself for his brother was commendable– though his sacrifice is also one Rena must bear. While I’m happy that Rena never once really accepted this, it still rankled a bit. Rena was a great character, loyal and determined, and a good person and yet it seemed she was fate’s punching bag. That being said, this was a great start to the new story arc and I look forward to the next one. Something a bit different in the shifter/amoveo world. A curse, twin dragons and a hybrid Amoveo.
I’ve loved and enjoyed this series, but I think I like this book the best so far.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next, because if it’s as fun and fascinating as this one, I’m in for a good read.
I really recommend this series with its interesting background story, interesting and loveable characters and the fact each book allows us to get to know those characters better.

This book is tried to the other books about the dragon clan and I very much enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what Sara Humphreys does next. Zander Lorens got cursed to be stripped of his Dragon Clan powers. Every night he has the same dream until one night he dream of beautiful young woman. Rena McHale uses her unique gift as a private investigator. I normally don't read this style of book but I very much enjoyed it and I cant wait for the next book.

First off, holy dragon wings! I can't say I liked this, I can't say I adored this, but I can say, I freaking LOVED this book. Loved it hard. I'm a huge fan of Sara's Amoveo series and now adding Dragons, just holly crap, it's made my day, night, week... well you get the picture.

The story of Undiscovered is one that has so many emotions and a helluva lot of wtf moments. And, let's just say, it's true. Dragons are like onions, they have many layers. (I stole that quote of Mushu and Mulan, you're welcome.)

Zander Lorens, badarsed dragon shifter, biker, tall, dark and totally desirable, is a man on a mission. He's running out of time to undo a curse that was set upon him and identical twin brother Zed.

Problem is.... he needs Rena McHale along side him to do so.

Rena McHale is an Amoveo, who is clueless as to who and what she is until tall, dark and desirable, Zander walks into her office. From that moment on her world as she knows it starts to change, molding her into the woman she is supposed to be.

She's supposed to help save his brother. She's the key to unlocking a curse and setting the bothers free. But... what happens when the tables turn and Rena becomes more than the key to their salvation, but a balm to ease all the millennia of aches, pains and disappointments that have plagued Zander. The curse is a catalyst to the real issue.

Saving Zed is Zander's one and only mission, but now, thanks to his own doings, Rena McHale may be just the woman to save them both. To ease the pains of the past and to set a path of redemption and new beginnings for the future.

That is if they survive the tasks they must endure in order to get Zed free... time is not on their side and once the ground starts shaking, all bets are off. It's not only a race against time, but a race against fate.

I have been waiting for this one for a while now and had really high expectations of it being great!!! I think I've read all of this authors books and she is definitely one that I really enjoy! I mean it has her Amoveo (which I LOVE) and introduces Dragons, which I also love!! these two together and I'm a happy lady.
Rena was the highlight for me. Love her no nonsense, tackle things head on manner.
Zander was great also, he really did try and fight his attraction to Rena but the pull of your true mate is impossible to deny, even for the strongest of wills.
We got a snippet from some of the previous Amoveo characters, it was nice to catch-up with them, see how their lives are progressing!
I think what made me drop a star was the ending, it felt very rushed and it left me wanting a bit more depth, that's not to say it didn't end well, just rushed for me and maybe a little convenient in parts, for example Zander's brother Zed losing his memory, seemed the easy answer!?!?
Overall a great start to the spin off series of the Amoveo, am looking forward to this next chapter in the Amoveo world!!!

I got this book at rt17. Author I hadn't read before. I really enjoyed this book. I was a little disappointed that we didn't learn more about a particular character at the end.. but I assume his book is coming. Definitely looking forward to reading her other books.

I just recently finished Sara Humphrey's Amoveo series and just didn't think she could do any better with the series. Ok, I bow to the goddess of all things shifter. She did an absolutely amazing job with Undiscovered. The story was written exceptionally well, the characters well thought out and complex, and the plot blew me away. There were so many twists and turns and I adored the relationship between Rena and Zander. Poor Zander, with his beautiful broken soul. A man...errr...dragon who was willing to sacrifice his chance at happiness to free his brother. I won't provide any details to the story because it really was a journey that a reader needs to enjoy on their own. Fantastic job, Sara. Absolutely fantastic.

This was surprisingly an enjoyable read! I’ve never read anything by Sara Humphreys until now and I was worried that with this being a sprin off series I would feel very confused, but that wasn’t the case. I loved the build up between Zander and Rena, the sexual tension felt realistic and there was so many times while reading this I was just screaming for them to kiss already LOL. I did wish there was more dragon scenes though! However, I loved that the paranormal aspect of this story didn’t take a back seat while Sara Humphreys focused on romance. There was a great equal balance between the story that carried out the well executed plot. I can’t wait to read Zed’s story, hopefully we’ll get it soon :)

This was an enjoyable book about the last two dragon shifters, identical twins, cursed for the accidental death of a young woman who had been manipulating their affections. Zander was cursed as an immortal in human form, and Zed was cursed to remain in hibernation in his dragon form for 500 years. Only certain conditions could release them, one of which was Zed being released from hibernation by his mate.

Zander believes that Rena is Zed's mate because she can walk in the Dreamrealm with Zed. Rena has psychic powers and believes she's a freak. She doesn't know she's a fox-shifter hybrid, and an Amoveo.

But Rena can also walk in the Dreamrealm with Zander, and is attracted to him. So whose mate is Rena? Zander believes she's Zed's, and fights their attraction tooth and claw. That's the real heart of the book.

Though dragon shifters aren't technically Amoveo, this is probably my favorite Amoveo book yet. I'm looking forward to Zed's story. Are Zander and Zed really the last two dragon shifters? We'll find out.

Book Review- Undiscovered by Sara Humphreys

Rena McHale is a P.I. with special abilities. She lived in foster homes and on the street until Vito saved her and taught her the business. He took her in and gave her a home. She, now, makes sure he gets proper care for his dementia. He and Pat, her best friend, are the only people in her life that matter. Other than them, she focuses on her work, using her special gift to learn things and find people.
So when Zander walks into her office, her life changes forever. He is the man she sees in her dreams. She is shocked to see him in her office. He is there to hire her to find his brother. He knows what she really is. He also has a plan for her. He needs her to set his brother free. She is his mate after all. He offers her a lot of money and she agrees to go to Montana. Their attraction for each other grows. However Zander refuses to give in. She is Zed’s mate. As the trip progresses Rena demands the truth as she travels farther into his world. Her abilities grow and new ones emerge. When Rena finds out the truth she refuses to let fate choose.
I love this story. Shapeshifters are a favorite of mine, especially dealing with dragons. Rena was a great character. She was strong and smart. I liked her instantly. She was sassy and stubborn, holding her own against Zander. They were the perfect match. The journey they took together to Montana was riddled with tension and secrets.
It was funny to read when she wanted to kill him or kiss him. It was such a tug of war with Rena’s feelings. Just like her, I wanted to kick Zander a couple of times. His martyr behavior would have driven me crazy.
I did like the characters at the ranch. The different shifters were accepting and friendly. I liked them quickly. They revealed more for Rena and the reader. The ending scene happened on the ranch between brothers. Rena was faced with what fate throws her way. It was a great read. I give it a 4 out of 5.

A new series that's tied to Sara Humphreys older series that features the dragon clan. A nice paranormal series that will stand firmly on it's own. I've never read any of Ms. Humphreys books before and this had lots of background for the characters. The books has a good premise to continue the series as the twin dragon brothers that are the last of their clan fight to ensure their future.

Rena prayed they wouldn't see her this time as she was behind a tree. She hoped things would turn out different but she knew different. They would find her and kill her then she would wake up, terrified and drowning in pain just after being swallowed in flames. Rena screamed over and over again and screamed not again please help me I can’t take it anymore. But this time the flames didn’t come. Rena pushed herself up on shaky legs. Then the earth started to shake again , the thunderous footsteps of monsters. Then Rena heard a man whisper “ run”. Rena heard his voice was filled with urgency. “ Run , woman run!! Every since Rena could remember she had been able to detect the invisible trail left behind by all living creatures. She could find anyone on the planet simply by connecting with their spirit streams. She had never found one in a dream before because she had to touch an object that the other person had held in order to connect. But then again this had not been a regular dream more like a reoccurring nightmare. The man told her to move unless she enjoyed getting fried like a chicken. Rena now ran toward the other worldly red light. If she followed the spirit stream it would lead her to safety Rena didn’t know how she knew she just did. In her gut Rena knew whoever was talking to her was basically good. Spirit streams possessed the essence of the person they belonged to . You must go to him and find the others like yourself. The Amoveo can help you and him. He must be awakened by his mate . it’s the only way to break the curse and we are almost out of time. If you don’t reach reach him by all Hallows Eve he will be trapped here forever First Rena said what curse and who are the Amoveo and second there are no others like me. I am a total freak ask any of my foster families I lived with and they will confirm it. He asked you don’t know about the Amoveo - how is that possible? Then Rena said that this fit in with the rest of her weird life. Then Rena asked who he was. He said he had never encountered one like you before then he told Rena to pick up the stone. Then Rena said that is a weird name and he told her pick it up! We don’t have time to waste not anymore. The minute Rena picked up the red quartz the cave erupted in light . Zander/Zane had hope for the first time in centuries that the curse might be broken. Zander had Isadora’s number in his phone it was the only non business related number in his phone. Isadora wasn’t a friend but an old witch and one of her sisters had cursed Zane and his brother Zed so long ago. Over the years even with the history between their family’s Isadora had become a trusted acquaintance. She was powerful and if she had wanted to hurt Zane she could have one hundred different times . Isadora was his only surviving connection with the supernatural world. Than Zane called Isadora that he had found Rena in the dream realm and that Arianna was gone and a different woman had taker her place. Zed had spoke he had said mine and said the same word over and over again. Then Isadora was there with Zane and said she thought they should talk in person. Zander had been trapped in human form for five hundred years and his brother Zed in dragon form in an eternal nightmare for them. Zed thought this woman was his mate and she was Amoveo which was an ancient clan of shapeshifters similar to the dragon clan in many ways , they find their mates in the dream realm and once they connect they could find each other on the physical plane. She was discovered to be from the fox clan Isadora told him humans and Amoveo could mate and most of them didn’t know what they were. The ten clans were now all fighting among themselves. Rena was a private investigator a kindly man had taken her in and taught her all she knew about being a private investigator. He was the only family Rena had ever known. Then Rena had been having dreams about someone she had never met until he came into her office to hire her to help his brother.There are tasks Rena and Zane must do to free Zed.
I really enjoyed this story and it had a different twist. I loved the relationship between Rena and Zane. This had a good plot and was well written. This was a great read filled with tension and suspense. I like how Zane helped Rena to escape the monsters and there was even some humor. I liked Isadora also who didn’t try nor want to hurt Zane or Zed unlike her sister. I loved the characters and ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

A young PI has a considerable advantage that has made her successful, but that she doesn’t understand. If she touches an object touched by the subject of her investigation, she can detect their invisible trail, find them, read their secrets. Rena McHale has been tormented recently by violent dreams and by the lost to dementia of her mentor Vito Fox. Vito was the first person to connect with Rena after multiple disastrous foster placements. If it weren’t for the exhaustion caused by these terrifying dreams, she could be content working hard enough to pay for Vito’s care in a nursing home.

Zander Laurens, also haunted by dreams, has a different problem. Five hundred years ago, he and his brother were cursed. He has been forced to live without his dragon powers; his brother has been trapped in hibernation. If he does not rescue his brother before the 500 years is up a few days from now, the curse will be permanent. He hires Rena to find Zed. She takes the job because she needs the money for Vito.

As the story unfolds and as Rena and Zander work their way to Montana to Zed’s hibernation spot and a clan of Amoveo - shapeshifters, they begin to trust each other. They have a very strong attraction, but Zander is convinced that Rena is meant to be his brother’s mate, that attraction is what will pull him from his coma. In spite of his feelings for Rena, his brother’s fate must come first.

This story is mostly the growth of the relationship between Zander and Rena, less so of the Amoveo and their culture. There is plenty of sexual tension and the opening of Rena’s skills. This first in a series will appeal to readers of romance and paranormal romance. Recommended.

Undiscovered is a story of guilt, family and love. It also explores relationships on many levels. Brothers, girlfriends, adoptive parents and lovers. Plus finding out that dragons still exist.

Zander and Zed are twins that are dragon shifters. They are cursed. Zander stuck in human form and Zed trapped in hibernation as a dragon. This curse happened all over a girl that the brothers were fighting over. Zander will do anything to free Zed, even sacrifice his own happiness. He believes that if he can get Rena, Zed's mate, to him that the curse will be broken. The only problem is Rena doesn't know anything of his world and definitely doesn't subscribe to being anyone's mate.

Rena is an independent soul. She was on the streets when she was found by Vito, who would become a kind of adoptive parent to her. Rena knew she was special because she could sense things through touch. Even though she knew that Zander was different and was pushing her away for reasons she couldn't understand, she couldn't help but want him.

As they made their way across the country to help his brother, their bonds deepen. Zander must make a decision between the love that he feels for Rena and for his brother.

Fans of the Amoveo series will love Undiscovered. It has all the elements that makes that series so good. We get to revisit the characters of that series in this book which is a nice treat. This novel sets this new journey for the dragon shifters up. They aren't necessarily part of the Amoveo but they have the same qualities that made the Amoveo special.
