"The People need justice,
But she's not listening."
First of all look at that cover.AWESOME.In fact it is the fact that got me to read this book. For me it's one of the best covers out there, the colors are warm and everything collides greatly.Great job!
Okay so this is a astrology-mythology dystopian.I was confused because I have a weakness for dystopian but I also hate everything related with astrology.Don't get me wrong, the way it is described in this book is perfect and also the binding with the myths is so unique and fun to read ,but it's just that me and astrology don't go well, never have-never will!
Justice Buried is brilliant young adult where you can face some of the problems we are currently facing in the world but in a new transformed way.Live by the rules,no own destiny, fate, rights forbidden. You can't choose your partner, your life, your own way.
The plot is interesting, not quite unique because somehow living underground is a mainstream thing for a lot of novels, but it is so well build. There are thrilling, exciting moments that you can't help but read more and more.
I did like all the characters, except the lead Astrea in the beginning. She was so annoying, but she grows to be a quite badass heroine. Also the people of Asphodel were so awesome,I mean I could read about them all the day.I really hope we get to see more of them in the sequels.
What I lacked was the description of places, some of the characters and their intentions.I know that there will be sequels and the author wants to leave something to our imagination, but I think it would have been better if it had at least some more detailed descriptions of the situation there were living.
I didn't like the romance, not because it was badly written or anything,it's just that there is a love triangle and I am not a fan of those.
I recommend this book to all the fantasy, astrology, mythology readers out there. It's a great dystopian with an awesome message. Also a fun read,so pick it up!
We worship the sun and the planets. We do everything according to our birthday – vocations, partners, everything.
I want to create my own destiny. But this is Asphodel, and that will never happen.

1) I couldn't connect with the MC at all. I didn’t like Astrea. She was supposed to be a strong, determined heroine. Instead I had this shallow, undecided girl… Furthermore, everything was spiced up by her absurd choices and unrealistic actions.
An example? When she met Stian and discovered that he came from the outside she wasn’t shocked/curious and barely asked a couple of questions about his world (N.B. Asphodel inhabitants were quite convinced that they were the only survivors after the Sickness) and started telling him her problems… but that’s not all, she didn’t know anything about him, but she trusted him nevertheless and
2) the love triangle. Ok, I’m not at all a fan of love triangles… but I think it would be too much even if you like this stuff: Astrea spent her (an my) time back and forth between the two guys (Lexan, the charmer, and Stian the mysterious outsider) and guess what? She couldn’t make up her mind and kept changing her opinion of the two boys.
3) the story lacked world-building. We got only brief glimpses about the mysterious Sickness, the prophecy or Asphodel society organization and, even if most of the story took place in the underground city, it was never properly described.
4) too many secrets. IMO some secrets and hidden truths can make a story even more spicy… but it seemed that everybody in Asphodel was keeping secrets, that nobody could be trusted. On the one hand, I didn’t understand why Astrea’s parents, Lexan or Brenn were so secretive with her; on the other hand, I thought it was quite impossible to keep stuff hidden in a small city (trapped underground) and under the constant watchful eye of Keirna (the First Leader, our antagonist).
5) Keirna’s behaviour was a wild card: she was cruel, power-hungry and cold-blooded. She didn’t want to see the prophecy fulfilled and pass the sceptre to Astrea. So why she waited 17 years before trying to get rid of Astrea?
