Many things can hinder our prayers from being answered; but often a major hindrance is a lack of understanding of the those who long for more power in their prayer life, Barbara Wentroble provides insight and understanding in this area of the believer's authority-activating the authority Jesus has given us-in the spiritual realm to give commands, take action and cooperate with what God is doing. This book will help intercessors pray in a more effective way in this new season of a worldwide prayer movement and increased faith to see the invisible things from the heart of God made manifest on Earth.
Reviewers Note: It is the beginning of 2025 and one of the skills I desire to grow in is that of writing book reviews (having never done this before). I am doing this so I can better hone my writing (and reading) skills as I seek to think more critically about the books I am reading. I am sharing on Goodreads for my own personal development. I know this will be something I am always growing in so if you actually read these, please be patient with me as I develop this skill. I will also receive constructive criticism if you desire to help me become a better writer (and reader). I plan to use this disclaimer for the entire 2025 year.
Praying With Authority by Barbara Wentroble 158 Pages
I’m not sure how this book ended up on my wish list. Like many of the books on my lists, it probably was listed or referenced in another book. It went on sale for $1 so I grabbed it. I enjoyed it. For such a short book on prayer, it felt like it was packed with quality material.
As the title suggests, it was about the authority we have with prayer. While some not familiar with the charismatic prayer area of Christianity (I want to say movement but that’s not really the right word either) might question parts of the book (territorial authority or declarations, among others), I found it to be a great reminder of the authority we have as children of God. I would also say it is a great primer for those not familiar with the more charismatic prayers (at least that’s what I’ll call it here).
Very quick read. I can recommend it as a charismatic primer or as an encouragement in your prayer life. I find reading books on prayer helps me stay in prayer more.
Great Book with many story of Revival in most country that we thought it wont be happen . After i read this book, My heart immediately love to pray For People .
“The purpose of authority in intercession is to release the harvest, which is the will of God, on Earth.” (pg 148) Everything in the chapters before this are written to develop that statement teaching what authority is and then how to understand our individual authority, corporate authority, territorial authority, proper boundaries and a sense of boldness to walk in that assignment. I had started this and then got bogged down. When I went back to it, I started from the beginning again. Somehow that time I was able to follow the flow better and see how each chapter built on the previous.
