Coming of Age

Rate this book
When a meteor released a bacterium that caused the dead to rise, the world Ian and Lance knew was turned upside down. Forced to flee from the sulfurous Stinkers, the teenagers narrowly avoided their own demise on the way to an isolated cabin. With their parents lost to contact, the boys must lead their battered group in survival.

As the stench of death draws closer, Lance and Ian will face their most difficult challenge yet: a murderous gang of powerful thugs. With new threats looming, the boys must use every trick up their sleeves. But with little life experience, and no adult to turn to, will our heroes successfully endure the heavy mantle of leadership, or will they become the next victims in this forsaken world?

Loving this series. By this point, I'm emotionally invested in seeing how things work out between Ian and Jenifer, and Lance and Lilly. Also interesting to hear how the parents are doing on their trek overland after the boat ride from Hawaii. I love how Watson throws in such interesting activities in his stories. In this case, hearing about the boys' deeds is just classic. Makes me wish I'd been a bit more deliberate when I was younger.

Forsaken World

Thomas Watson, I love this series so could you please hurry with the next book! I really need to find out what Ian, Lance and the girls are up to and if their parents are going to safely make it home. I rate this whole series with five stars but I would give it lots more if I could, that is how much I have enjoyed reading 📚 this book.

A really fun read. The plot is very believable, unlike a lot of Post Ap books. This was a well written and at times a suspenseful plot. I loved the characters even though they are quite young teens. Everything about this book was credible. I am looking forward to reading the 3rd book.

A surprisingly good story!

I have enjoyed this series and find myself chuckling at Lance and Ian. They represent what every 13 year old boy wishes he was. Can't wait to read the next book..

An amazing read from start to finish, left me wanting more. I was hooked from book 1, and loved the characters, and some of the 'deeds' by Lance and Ian were diabolically genious!

A good follow up to book 1. Characters evolve and it goes to prove what can be done by kids when faced with adversity.

An incredible sequel to the first book, 'Innocence Lost'.

Lance, Ian, Jennifer and the other kids are trying their best to fortify their home from the ongoing threat. Their parents are far away, but all cling to the hopes that they will be reunited.

The obstacles and challenges that they faced in the first book were just on their way to the veritable fortress of a cabin. The threats have now passed....or have they?

The reactions and behavior of basic humans will test everything that these teens thought they knew. The resulting 'humanity' will astonish them in its depravity and show the stuff of nightmares..... Can they continue in their proactive defenses and outwit their threats? Will an outsider end up breaching their sanctuary?

A great story that kept me on the end of my seat! Definitely a lot of humor from a 'younger generation' of characters. I can't wait for the third book to come out in 2017. Very well done!

Well Done! Again!

I admit....I was sketchy about this series... I couldn't believe this series could live up to the blue plague series Mr. Watson wrote... I was wrong.... Now I am anxiously awaiting for the next book... Well done Mr. Watson! I enjoyed the personalities of your characters... The story line gets better and better leaving the reader in anticipation of what happens next... I was never bored and found myself put out when I had to put my kindle down to get ready for work....

For much of the book, not much really happens. The apocalypse is kind of beside the point in lieu of the constant chatter of these kids. Jennifer is obsessed with not being a full partner of the group and the boys think of little else than boobs. I really wanted to put these guys in timeout. Some of the best parts were the diabolical "pranks" they pulled on the gang. Unfortunately, this book ended with the parents on their journey so now I may want to see what happens.

I 're

If you like the Zombie genre then this is a must read! The plot is well developed as are the characters, the young teens find time for intended and unintended humor in the mist of their chaotic world. I highly recommend this book and most especially this great author; I've read all his books and don't know which ones I like better :).

Hmm

Good. I think it needed more. More about their parents, an more interaction with the outside world. Suspicious of Lilly. We have to wait till next year? Uggggg
