Brooklyn Prescott (at least that's what it says on her passport) was living the life of a boring, unnoticeable girl. She was almost invisible at the school in London that she'd been attending for the past two years since her family moved from the States for her father's job. Nearly friendless and definitely boyfriendless, Brooklyn is gearing up to start her junior year when her father drops a huge bomb: she's returning to the States on her own to attend an exclusive boarding school. Because high school isn't hard enough, she's about to become the new girl at The Rosewood Academy for Academic Excellence, a school for the kids of the rich and famous. Terrified of what that's going to mean for her social life (though really, it couldn't be much worse) Brooklyn knows she has no choice and prepares herself for whatever is to come.
But the trip back to America--what promised to be a long and boring overseas flight--is anything but boring and instead turns into the kind of pivotal experience a girl will remember forever.
For new readers, enjoy this introduction to The Rosewoods, an exciting romantic Young Adult series for readers who love fun, flirty love stories. And for loyal fans of the series, enjoy this peek at what happened before Taking the Reins.
A survivor of adolescence, Katrina Abbott loves writing about teens: best friends, cute boys, kissing, drama. Her main vice is romance, but she's been known to succumb to the occasional chocolate binge. She may or may not live in California with her husband, kids and several cats.
That's a book with not just an introduction but having complete sense of fun and mind catching words. This seems to be, while reading, like a whole movie is running in front of me. Quite an initial of a message vie but very impressive. This is first one I'm reading fro. Katrina Abbott, and it tells that she's full of rom-com thing in her. Rosewood, thus, seems to be going a well enjoyable series further; and I will definitely go for it. Fun at one hand and romance on another, with basic story running in back, is actually a way to write the rom-com novels. So is here. Totally engaging and binder. For me it's 5.0/5.0
I read book one before I realized there was a prequel. I would have read this one first if I'd known, oops! Either way, it was interesting to see how Brooklyn interacted with her parents before getting sent to Rosewood. Also, I found her interaction with the man on the plane interesting and wonder if it will come into play in the series at all. Will we see that mysterious stranger again, or was he just the nudge Brooklyn needed to start going after what she wants?
I did read its sequel first :p but i guess that's what made me want to read all the other parts of this amazing series. I loved this story and is soo eagerly waiting to read the other parts. Getting one for myself off the internet, keeping my anxiety in check :)
Graeme is friendly.Brooklyn is a delightful but rather confused and socially inept teenager. I'm confident that the tie in for the series will be important. Overall it is enjoyable.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Tragic. Wonderful characters.
After reading this - you can't help but want to read more. You will want to know what happened to the two main characters after their exciting plane ride. I am going to check and see what books in the Rose woods Series are available.
It was free and short. I'm not familiar with the Rosewoods series, but this was a great intro. I was still confused about Brooklyn's very secretive father.
Honestly an amazing book I love it and it's just so amazing. I would read this one before you read "taking the reigns" Because it will make sense to why she is at a new school.

Abbott's Monks #1 The Rosewoods #1 Short tale prequel to the series doesn't tell us much at all really, and is not that significant. It introduces us to our main character, and not much else.
Sweet little prequel book to the Rosewoods series. It gave in a little insight to Brooklyn's life as she was making the journey from London to the US to start her junior year at her new school, Rosewoods Academy for Academic Excellence. Her long flight with at hot guy gave her the inspiration to come out of her shell a little bit this year and become a "new and improved" Brooklyn.
This prequel is a great introduction to Scottlyn's character and the changes she is about to be introduced to. I read this after having read the first Rosewood book and really enjoyed it as an introduction to the series and the main character. It was also very amusing for such a short read.
I didn't read this book until I had finished the 10th more because I didn't want to go backwards after I'd started. However I'm glad that I did read it last as reading it first won't make much sense until you get to the 10th book and realise just how much of an impact one conversation can make.
I love the series. I will buy more of Katrina Abbott series. It is good, clean reading for adults and teenager girls. I found under Christian Fiction which i am towards reading more of because I grew up sexaul content was not in books.
A young girl is being shunted to another school by her parents. Obviously not the first time, other than this time, she is flying by herself from London to New York. It's a new start, in more ways than just one.
