After reading ”Finding Home” I found out that there is a prequel on Amazon.com.
I went straight to the site and downloaded the book, and read it right away.
The novella is entries of Sam’s journal as a solution to cope with the grief of the loss of her parents and coping with other grieves and losses she had until she arrived at Hometown Harbor.
Sam is very lucky to have good friends like Max & Becky, but also she knows how to give up back when her friends need her.
I am happy that I stumbled to the series, and I will for sure continue the series for sure to find out the love stories of the other couples.

Good introduction to a new-to-me series!

I can't wait to get into it. This is basically the journal of a young woman dealing with the many aspects of life from losing her parents to college, marriage and beyond. This is a great way to start the Hometown Harbor series and I can't wait to get started.

The pace is engrossing and the tone uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has no steamy details. The characters are vivid and engaging. If you have not read the series yet, I think this is a great place to start! Enjoy!

Hometown Harbor: The Beginning Prequel to Book 1 of the Hometown Harbor Series by Tammy L. Grace

I enjoyed this journal type of reading. It was so different from my other books. I am continuing onto the next book. Funny how you never revealed the name of the woman writing the journal til the next book. Good one Author Tammy L. Grace. Thank you for a great read!

Interesting prequel

Interesting insight into the main character in the Hometown Harbor series through her diary which she started writing after her parents died until she got on the ferry to Friday Harbor. Shows her insight into dealing (or not dealing) with grief through the years.

Good book

I really did want to be this woman, until close to the end of the book, when that someone was a total jackass. And I'm so happy that everything has worked out. When I read a book, it's like I'm part of the book. Every single time. And this book was truly amazing. It has it's highs and lows, it's just a really great book. I can't wait to read the next one. Thanks.

One of the Best

One of the best prequels I have ever experienced and the story flows well. I am definitely wanting to read more. I enjoyed the journal type chapters that centered around relationships and a Summer home getaway over the span of years. Looking forward to continuing the saga.

Real life drama

This was hard to read so much heartbreak for on soul to absorb. But not one word do you not believe. However, I cannot wait to start the next book. I'm rooting for a life changing for the better and happiness to envelope this woman. She's one the right path. She has a dog!

I'm actually happy I read this book after having read the 1st one. Had I read it 1st I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much since I knew who the characters were so they ended up having more depth.
I would actually recommend to read this one after you have read the 1st book in the series!

Enjoyable

This is a new author to me and the story is a very quick novella prequel. It follows two friends as their lives unfold, through good times and bad, triumph and heartbreak, as told through journal entries.

Hometown Harbor: The Beginning

What a moving story! There was not and sorrow and finding her way through it to begin new chapters in her life. Sam was a very believable person, you could see her pain and notes she moved through her life and could get over the bumps in the road.

A lovely book that invites you to read the series. We meet Sam in high school where she has endured the death of her parents in an accident. The book delves into being raised by her grandparents, college, working and marriage. A prequel to the series.

The story line was ok but I could not connect with the characters. Too much crying and childish beliefs and actions. Yes death, is sad and we have to grieve but this seemed excess.
