I think that religious people won't agree with this book, because this is a story of a disabled guy who wanted to die, but nobody allowed him until one doctor took the responsibility and helped him.
This book makes you think about life and death and euthanasia. How many of you would like to live while you can move just ONE THUMB and nothing else? Not many, I assume. Animals have a possibility of being relieved of suffering, so why people shouldn't have a chance of dignity in death?
I think that this doctor made the right decision and I understand everything he is writing about. It is a tough choice, but nobody deserves to suffer.
It's not just a good medical book, but also a moral compass.

Knyga, kurią privalo perskaityti kiekvienas gydytojas ir medicinos studentas. Rašė prancūzas gydytojas anesteziologas- reanimatologas, mano kolega, apie savo darbą, išgyvenimus, krizes, žmogiškumą, baimes ir nekasdienišką kasdieninį darbą, užkraunantį žiaurią atsakomybę ant gydytojo pečių. Atrodė, kad skaitau savo mintis, parašytas popieriuje. Knyga nepaliekanti abejingų.
