A popular lifestyle columnist presents timely and lighthearted advice to women about how to cook and entertain with style, counseling readers on how to host a dinner without stress, personalize a meal, and grocery shop on a budget. By the author of Domestic Bliss. Original. 30,000 first printing.
The entire book can be summed up thusly: Buy fancy dishes and get expensive takeout, and let people assume you made it yourself. The style of the book was cute and pleasant, and included literally a handful of recipes, but all in all this was a book for wealthy single people, not the majority of the people on this planet.
Grumble. Not what I was looking for, and left me feeling inadequate at entertaining, even amongst the non-culinary.
I have been following Rita Konig and her interior designs for a while. This book makes me want to come over to one of her no-fuss dinner parties and discuss that living room of my dreams which she designed for that hi-rise building in NYC. You, know, the one I've clipped and saved for "inspiration".
Great advice for entertaining and cooking. Thanks, Rita!
yes..again another one of the book i bought with my gift card (don't you just love those things?!). i have her book "domestic bliss" and her writing style is hilarious!
