Full-length New Adult Romance, 18+ only (explicit content and language), HEA (no cliffhanger), NO cheatingJamesLucky bastard. That's what people called me. I wasn’t going to deny it. I had been lucky even before my company’s IPO, which had made me a tech billionaire overnight. I was also a morally compromised son of a bitch—anyone who knew me could attest to that. But it didn’t mean I lacked a set of codes to live by.I wasn’t interested in romantic complications, but I was always up for a challenge. Then I met her. A flame-haired cocktail waitress with a smart mouth. And I was going to have her, even if I had to break my own rules. So I made her an offer—one that she couldn’t refuse.CassI was the cliché, a punch line to a joke. The virgin working in a strip club. But I wasn’t naïve, and I wasn’t taking my clothes off for money. I was just serving drinks while wearing a naughty-schoolgirl outfit. At twenty-three, I just wanted one thing—to make enough money to go back and finish my last year of college. Then I felt the heat of his stare from the back of the club. The guy in the suit. I assumed he was like all the rest, but I was so wrong. James McDevitt was a son of a bitch—one insanely hot son of a bitch. And he had an offer for me.The question could I refuse? This is NOT a "clean" read. Due to graphic profanity and explicit sexual content, this book is not intended for sensitive readers and/or those under the age of 18. There are also instances of violence and allusion to attempted sexual assault.Author’s James is a full-length (85,000 words) standalone novel featuring James McDevitt, the bastard friend of Ryan Bennett’s from College Girl. Both books were written as standalones and can be read without the other. However, the main characters of College Girl do make a cameo, so if you want to get the full story, start with College Girl before James’s story.Find Shelia Grace or www.cjvalles.com.
I think I like James a little more than Ryan but not by a lot. There's just something about a bad boy with a heart of gold that shines once he finds "the one". Cass is James's match in more ways than one. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Matt Irving book :)
"This whole thing was like a dream wrapped in a nightmare."
"This whole thing was like a dream wrapped in a nightmare."
The above statement is from the text of James. It stayed with me through this powerful story that I couldn't stop reading. James and Cass find themselves in exactly that - a dream wrapped in a nightmare.
James can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading College Girl by Sheila Grace first. I enjoyed having the build up of meeting James McDevit and knowing Ryan and Alex's story in College Girl. It was knowing James from that book that made me want to see what the author could do with this character and I was far from disappointed.
I don't want to tell you anything to ruin the story for you. It's that good!
There are explicit sexual scenes, foul language, and violence.
I thoroughly enjoyed James and before it College Girl and will be anxiously waiting for more from Sheila Grace.
I do not usually read this type of book so for me I thought it was good. The language didn't bother me, it was just right for my taste. The plot was crazy but really it is not that bad. The main character was definitely described in a delicious way. I recommend it.
I came across this book on the Radish app when reading the first book in the series "College Girl" and I absolutely loved this series. I am hoping that the author decided to continue with this series or write more like these. I can't wait to read more of get titles.
I HATED James in the first book! Now I think I love him more than Bennett! I need more. A 3rd book with both couples and life would be amazing! Wishfully hoping!
