André is used to shifters. He considers Dominic Nash, the Whitedell pride alpha, like an older brother, and loves spending time with the pride. He’s not looking for a mate, even though he hopes he has one somewhere.

Nicky was abandoned by his pride when he lost the challenge for Dominic’s council seat the year before. He refused Dominic’s offer to stay with the pride and become a member, and instead fled to the human world, where he works in a bar. The last thing he expects is for his mate to be the pretty man who walks into the bar and gets drunk.

When André isn’t able to go back to the mansion on his own, Nicky decides to drive him there. He doesn’t know how the pride will greet him, and once André is safe, he flees. André is his mate, though, and he feels drawn to the mansion. He needs to keep André safe, and if that means making the pride’s battles his own, Nicky will do it eagerly, even if it means going against human hunters when they attack.

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

This was book 22 in the "Whitedell Pride" series. Andre has known about shifters his whole life he grew up with Dominic being his big brother his best friend. When he goes to the mansion he is lonely everyone his busy with their mate and he wants one. When he goes to a bar to drink he meets a hot sexy bartender. Nicky was the man who challenged Dominic in book 7 for his council seat he lost and his pride kicked him out and left him in Whitedell. Nicky has been on his own for a year angry hurt and lonely and when he helps the hot drunk guy he realizes that he is his mate. Nicky let his anger and pride get in the way of accepting help from Dominic he was too embarrassed to stay with the pride even after Dominic's mate Ani healed him he was shocked when Andre told him where he lived. This was a really good book I felt bad for Nicky turns out he let his beta force him to do the challenge because his pride didn't know that he was gay. He felt that he didn't deserve a mate or for the pride to forgive him. Andre knew that he had to be patient with Nicky and when he came to the mansion to have dinner and watch a movie with a few of the other couples he was shocked that no one was angry or asked him to leave. When the pride is attacked Nicky jumps in to help and so does Andre. I also liked that Nicky was not putting up with Nysys carp. I also felt bad that Benjamin was hurt during the attack. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

OMG I can't believe we are nearing the home stretch of this series, just a few books left!

I enjoyed the characters and the story in this, and I kinda loved what happened to Nysys and his involvement with Andre and Nicky. There was also some action with the hunters, which was well written and definitely added to the story.

I look forward to more, as always!

A weak story. It felt like a lackluster story thrown into the series just because the author could. ok sure Aeron comes out as a Werewolf, but not much happens.
Sure Nicky and Nysys starts an epic (?) prank feud and there’s a big battle, but those things could have been written into another story.
I also wonder why Andre never had a more prominent role in the series seeing as Dominic was his best friend... not that I missed that, he was not the most inspiring character.

André is the only unmated human living in the Whitedell Pride mansion, actually he’s one of the only unmated people there period, which is how he finds himself all alone on the weekend as all the other residents take the opportunity to spend time with their mates. Not one to sit at home and mope, he heads out to a local bar to have a few drinks, and if he happens to find some company, well that’s just a bonus.

Nicky popped up in the Whitedell Pride series many, many books ago, and then disappeared. In fact, I’d completely forgotten who he was. He was alpha of his own pride but allowed his beta to bully him into challenging Dominic for his place on the Council. After having his ass handed to him, Nicky was dumped by his pride and slunk away into Whitedell never to be heard from again. Until the night André wanders in to the bar where Nicky works and the two men discover that they’re mates.

I liked that despite the fact André was human, there was no major drama between the mates. André has always been aware of the existence of shifters, Dominic is his best friend, and in fact he always hoped to find a shifter mate of his own because he’s seen how deeply they love one another. The one to hesitate is Nicky and that’s only because he can’t understand why the Whitedell Pride is so welcoming to him. After all, he challenged Dominic and lost. But it doesn’t take them long to commit, and that’s where the fun begins.

Nysys is very present in this book, but for once he doesn’t get the upper hand. As much as I love that character, I was cheering when someone finally put him in his place and attempted to teach him some manners.

The fight scene in this book was pretty cool. I do love it when these stories include some actual fighting between the hunters and the shifters, and this one was a major fight. A fight that leads us into the next book of the series, after poor Benjamin is stabbed and left for dead. With the Whitedell Pride series coming to an end, I really hope those damn hunters are dealt with and get just what’s coming to them.

If you’re interested in reading the Whitedell Pride books you do need to start at the beginning with book #1 – Jamie.

Andre is the rich son of two dads who has more money than God. He finds his mate in Nicky, the shifter who “pretended” to be homophobic to challenge Dominic for alpha leadership.

Now, Nicky is a bartender and has nothing else from his former life.

**

Like the others in the series, the two meet early on, there’s some drama, and then mating.

In this case there’s a bit of danger when the hunters return to the pride house and threaten everyone.

We’re introduced to some more “future MCs” including Aeron who look really interesting!

I enjoyed this – and am still addicted to the series.

Not alot of drama, some action. Would have loved to see Dom and Nicky, have more of a relationship. Since they have the Alpha connection.
