If you're thinking this is the typical MMA romance...you're wrong.

When we were ten, he treated me like a friend.
When we were eighteen, he wanted nothing to do with me.
And now that we are twenty-two, he longs to claim every single inch of me.
He was wild--untamed.
And I, a reckless girl, who loved too hard.
But, what we had was special.
I was his serenity and he my protector.
Drake was consumed by my love...
but he also took advantage of it...
He'd broken my heart--left me hanging for years.
He ruined us.
And, now, he's back.
He wants me.
And I want to hate him, I really do.
But, who am I kidding?
No one can deny Drake Davenport.
You can't hide from the almighty DOOMSDAY.
Because he is a fighter.
And, just like me, he loves hard.
He never loses and he will fight as hard as he can if it means winning me back.

I'm honestly speechless and heartbroken , heartbroken because I'm sad that it ended and I want more.
Shanora Williams knows to create swoon worthy book boyfriends and Drake Davenport is definitely on my top list.

Doomsday may be a beast, but his heart is like a butterfly . It’s gentle. It’s kind. It’s beautiful, but it is also wild.

This story made me feel like I was right in the book with these characters . Come June everyone need to one click .I promise you will not be disappointed.

DoomsDay Love is a must read.

Some books you read and you have no idea how you should review them because they did nothing for you

Other books you read and your mind is spinning on all the stuff that you want to tell other readers about them.

And then there are those books that you basically do not WANT to say anything about because no matter how little you tell it will still feel like you are stealing something of the feeling they evoked in you by voicing out loud anything about them.

Doomsday Love by Shanora Williams is one of the books that belongs in the last category.

It was a great read – well developed from beginning to end.

It’s characters so fully developed that you thought you might be able to actually touch them if you only tried hard enough. Yes there are some clichés drifting along the storyline – but I did not mind them too much. They just underlined the plot and did not take over so they felt justified.

If I had just one word to describe the leading characters I would combine both words to a “perfectly imperfect” which describes them both in the best way.

This love will defenetivly need more than one chance and if you ask me for a comparison to another book – the first book that comes to my mind would defenetivly be “Real” by Katy Evans. So let me say out loud a chliche of my own the typical comparison “If you loved “Real” I am pretty sure you will also love “Doomsday Love”

After facing some editing and timeline issues I asked the Author if the version we received for review was a final one. She told me it was an uncorrected version so my rating will not in any way involve those editing issues. I trust that they will be gone by the time the book is released (and honestly even if they are not gone – it will not disturb your reading – because I doubt most readers will have the same timeline/detail OCD that I have)

I don’t say this very often maybe like only once or twice a month – which is not very often if you consider that I read like sometimes almost a book a day …- but I think I could fall for a guy like Drake.

So if you like MMA fighter romances this is your book.

If you like guys from the wrong side of the tracks this is your book.

I know ARC’s are subject to changes – but I doubt that this line would ever be erased – but even IF … I still feel the need to close my thoughts with this quote – because there is not better way to describe this book

“Doomsday may be a beast, but his heart is like a butterfly.

It’s gentle. It’s kind. It’s beautiful, but it is also wild.”

#Happy Reading

This was just "okay" for me. Nothing really special happened here. Felt like I didn't need 23 chapters of their past. Felt like there should have been more time spent on their present lives. I'm also not really understanding Jenny's so called alcoholism. Her relationship with her parents sucked since the beginning of the book. The issue about her brother was also in the beginning. Only think to change was her relationship with Drake. None of that is enough to make her an alcoholic(of course this is my opinion). Felt like the author was trying to hard to make her life sad and depressing. And so all of those feelings were lost on me. And what was the issue with her dad? Where did he even go? You can't drop major family issues and not explain. And then in the epilogue you bring back the person. We didn't hear from her dad from chapters 24-45 and then all of a sudden he appears. Normally I'm a sucker for these types of books but this one didn't work for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Wow 5 untamed beast stars

I dont know where to start, Doomsday is told in two parts, you have the Jenny and Drake age 10, the little boy no-one dare to go near due to fear, family reputation, the way he dresses and his brooding features and then there's Jenny the well dressed princess on the opposite side of the fence, a little rich girl who even at her young age sees through all the charade and snobbiness of her classmates and she sees something more in Drake. Drake just wants to be left alone but little jenny never lets up.

They become friends with a common bond of loneliness but Life, money and events pull them apart up until their teen years where they are reunited.

Drake never could understand what Jenny sees in him, this abused boy becomes a boy who refuses to love, but this monster in a cage softens when Jenny finds him again at his underground fight and finally gives in to his love for her until they are torn apart yet again.

I was a monster, brutal and mean and angry. I demolished these fighters, crushing bones, destroying faces, ripping skin, dropping motherfuckers like dead flies.

Part two is after the college years

"I have waited years to feel your lips on mine again. Years to have you next to me again. All I need is one right now"

Doomsday love is one of those stories where your love of Drake and Jenny grows as the characters also grow in maturity, life and in love. I welled up with tears,I laughed, swooned and felt the angst and hurt as the whole plot took you on a journey to a hea.

When we were ten, he treated me like a friend.
When we were eighteen, he wanted nothing to do with me.
And now that we are twenty-two, he longs to claim every single inch of me.

Told in dual pov's and at a steady pace, I absorbed it all and it took me longer than normal to read this story I didn't want to miss anything.

A beautiful childhood friends to lovers story, a great fighter, rags to riches story and a beautiful love reunited story written with passion.

Recommended read.

It's the hardest thing losing a parent or sibling. You never get over that loss, you try to move on but it will be there in your mind everyday. And when you have No one else after losing that loved one and you feel all alone. Your going to attached yourself to the first person who shows you any kind of compassion. I think Drake and Jenn they needed each other and frd off each other emotions. These two have strong bond, but it also went through he'll. It hurt to see what both characters went through I cried with him. This was truly amazing. And Drake is just so amazing. New book boyfriend!!

I liked this book. Shanora Williams
really knows how to make her
characters interact. The best part of this
book was when Chloe and Doom interacted.
I felt like I was there with them.
The emotion she evokes
literally jumps off the page. I felt
everything that these 2 where feeling
and that makes for a great read.

Childhood/second chance romances are
my fav and this one was good. I got
a little lost at the beginning because I
felt that the writing was stilted. It took
me a little bit to get into the book, but once
I did I really enjoyed it.

Aww my Drake and Jenny!! I loved their story. It starts out when they are children. They always had this amazing connection with one another and this story spans into early adulthood showing all the trials they face together and separately. This is just one of those stories that will stay with you and shows how true love can change not only who you are but your entire life.

1.5* The potential was there but I quickly got bored, and the writing seemed a bit off. In my usual articulate way, I can't quite explain what I mean but I found it somewhat clumsy.

Wonderful story but there is are a few sad parts but that’s expected especially in a love story. It’s crazy what some people would do under pressure and to keep up appearances.

No matter what kind of romance book Shanora Williams writes, she just nails it. Every. Single. Time. I was rocked to the core with everything that Drake Davenport and Jenny Roscoe went through in the entire book. I felt all the emotions it entailed the whole ride—and what a fanfreakingtastic ride that was! I mean, who would've thought that a hardcore, badass underground fighter could love as strongly and passionately as the almighty Doomsday? I read this book twice already and it just got a whole lot sweeter and better the second time around. I just fell more and more in love with Drake.

I don't think I'll ever get enough of this man. He got me so intrigued with his background and why he kept so much to himself all those years ago. The broody, arrogant thing he got going on, while being the silent and kind sweetheart deep inside just hooked me up like crazy. I loved how he's all hard on the outside and rough around the edges, but on the inside, he's all warm and fuzzy. His heart is as soft as a marshmallow, I tell ya! It seems so difficult to imagine that a fighter like Doomsday can be that sweet and romantic, especially when it comes to Jenny. But there he was, making me swoon to death time and time again. He was perfection all over.

I loved Jenny's lively, bubbly, nosy personality immensely. I don't really blame her. I think I'll be the same way if I was in her place being around Drake. And she's such a brave soul. Jenny handled her life so well, if you ask me. Her choices were not all perfect, but they're what made her happy. She might've lost herself along the way, but she continued to believe that everything will eventually right itself and she coped so well. She's the completely beautiful soul that complements Drake's troubled one. They might've been polar opposites on the outside, but on the inside, they couldn't fit more flawlessly than two puzzle pieces. They were each other's pillars when they needed to be. They were two broken souls that were helplessly and inevitably drawn to each other.

The build up of Drake and Jenny's relationship was so emotionally heartfelt. The full journey was downright soul crushing and painful, yet hopeful and redeeming. The friendship and foundation they built around each other were so fascinating and admirable, it made me a tad bit jealous even. But I think they also needed that time and room to grow apart, as individuals too. It was what needed to happen. They both had to find themselves in order to make things work between them again. Their love was young and shaky at best in the beginning, but the more jabs and throttles that life threw their way, the stronger and sturdier their bond with each other became.

If you're craving an MMA book with characters that will make you fall in love, laugh, cry, cringe, swoon and everything else in between, or just a brilliant book that will drown you with so much feels, then this is the ultimate book for you. Because you have to meet the almighty Doomsday. You'll damn regret it if you don't.

By the way, I'm calling DIBS on Drake Davenport.

5 doomsday stars! I was sucked in and I couldn’t stop reading until it was done!

You will fall head over heels for Drake “Doomsday” the minute he walks across your kindle. He’s a tough fighter on the outside, but on the inside, he has the biggest, kindest heart! He will leave you in awe! As far as book boyfriends go, he’s got it!! Jenny is a fiesty girl and brokenhearted after Drake left her. And now that he’s back in town he wants to show Jenny he can be the man she’s always wanted, but is she ready for this??

Shanora Williams just woos me time and time again. Doomsday Love is a heart wrenching story about two lost souls wandering through life, not living, not existing until they find one another. Drake Davenport is the mysterious, MMA fighter, bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Jenny Roscoe is the sweet, thoughtful and curious girl, that lives life with an open heart. Drake and Jenny first become the oddest of friends when they are ten. Without words, they both see the other, and they understand the pain they each carry due to loss. As they grow, they both take different paths and lose track of one another. When their paths once again cross, Drake acts like he wants nothing to do with Jenny, but deep down he wants her more than anything. Eventually Jenny becomes Drakes everything. Tragedy once again plagues Drake and he questions everything in his life, eventually tearing him apart and away from Jenny. Leaving is his only choice, breaking Jenny's heart forever. Pinning away, waiting for Drake, Jenny soon realizes that he is never coming back so she moves on without him. The loss of Drake changes Jenny in unimaginable ways, turning the vibrant open hearted woman to a non-existing shell.
A trip to Vegas changes everything. Right there, plastered on a MMA promotion poster, staring her in the eye is Drake, "Doomsday" himself. Jenny can not contain all the different emotions that overwhelm her. The greatest HATE! How could he move on without her, living his life as if she didn't exist, when her life ended the day he walked away. She wanted nothing to do with Drake, well fate had other plans. When Drake and Jenny's eyes meet, the world around them stops and it is only them. So much is exchanged just with a look, and Drake knows he is not letting go again. When he realizes that Jenny is with another man his temper flares and he knows that he going to have to fight his greatest fight to win Jenny back. When circumstances cause Jenny to turn to Drake for help, things between them change drastically. Can old scares be mended? Will Jenny and Drake's undeniable connection lead them back to one another? Can there be a second chance in love?
I LOVED Doomsday Love. It was filled with diversity, challenges, desires, innocents, violence, hope, love and acceptance. Shanora Williams just keeps amazing me with her ability to pull you in, experiencing the story as if your living it. BRAVO Shanora, BRAVO!!!!!!

I have always been in love with Shanora Williams writing. She has knack for bringing out emotions that takes monumental moments in books from other authors. When I picked up Doomsday Love, I knew right away that this book would destroy me.

Drake and Jenny are what I would call the misfits of middle school. Jenny is a smart girl that has an inquiring mind and when she meets Drake she can't help but ask about a million questions. When her classmates start to make fun of Drake she stands up for him inadvertently beginning a friendship between her and Drake. When she decides to change schools, she loses contact with Drake. A chance encounter years later leads Jenny on a path of resilience, self destruction and a love so strong nothing can break it.

Jenny fascinated me. I loved that she was slightly awkward as a teenager and that she didn't care what other people thought of her. She grew up in a rich home, with parents that would give her anything. That's what her outside appearance would have the world believe. The truth, money and objects only shield the torment that she really feels. When she met Drake as a child she met a boy that she related to. When she meets Drake as a Teenager, she meets a guarded boy that she can't get through to. That invades her every thought, that becomes her obsession. She knows he's not who he shows the world. That his hard attitude is his armor. Jenny isn't one to let things go and does everything in her power to get Drake to be her friend again but the minute she gives up is the minute Drake won't deny what he wants.

Drake and Jenny's relationship in their teenage years was sweet and a trial of sorts. Drake doesn't know how to love and Jenny love's too hard. When an eye opening experience happens to Drake their world is shattered, sending Drake away. Jenny begins her downward spiral to self destruction. A few years later Drake finds a broken Jenny and it's his turn to prove that he can love just as hard as she does.

I loved this book! I don't know what else to say. This book devastated me and is one I will not forger. Shanora has once again proven she can write an experience.

I really struggled to get into this book. It's written in two parts and it's the first half that I had to strive to get through. The second half was so much better!

I've got to admit that YA is not a genre I particularly enjoy, so this needs to be taken into account when reading my review. However, I felt the writing style was just too immature for me and it was an effort to get through.
Also, as this is an ARC, I assume that its a pre-edited version but I've got to say that there are so many spelling and grammar errors (throughout the book) not to mention completely wrong words but I'm sure these will be corrected before its published.
Those of you who love YA books will probably love it though, as the story itself is solid and has potential.

Within the first part, there is a gap in time and I didn't feel that there was a clear distinction or any sense of how much time has lapsed.
The jump to the second part is much clearer though and the second half is like a completely different book. It has a more mature feel about it and was just more my type of book.

The story itself is good although the first half could have been shorter in my opinion. Drake is a great character and I loved the journey the reader takes with him.
Watching him grow and struggle with his self-worth.
Jenny's journey is practically the polar opposite.
Where one finds their worth, the other builds walls and once trust is broken, it's almost impossible to earn it back. They both have secrets and keep themselves pretty much closed off to those around them.
There's plenty of drama and a few sub-characters you'll love to loath too.

Overall, if you're a lover of MMA and don't mind YA, you'll probably thoroughly enjoy this book.
I wish the author the best of luck in the future.

Anyone who has ever had more than a 2 minute conversation with me about books, knows I am a HUGE Shanora Williams fan. I told her one time that she was the only author I wanted to simultaneously throat-punch and hug. She has a way of sucking you in, destroying you emotionally, and then at the last second putting you back together. Jenny and Drake's story is no different. I don't want to go full on into it, because I know how many people hate reviews with spoilers. Do yourself a favor, pre-order this book. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Order it. Read it. Then message me so we can gush over it together!

**** 5 cranky stars ****

This is an out of bounds second chance romance; childhood friends turned lovers. Jenny and Drake have the kind of soul crushing love I’d say that turns into inevitable soul mates. Their journey is a rough ride, one with many struggles and few triumphs.

Drake had a childhood you don’t want to relive, being the boy with the bad attitude, pushed into situations he never wanted. Jenny was his ray of light, seeing the good side that Drake never showed others. Unfortunate circumstances ripped them apart, but years later they come face to face. So much has changed, and it shows in the way they act towards one another.

Jenny, the once free spirit, has grown tired and leery. Drake sees this, partly blames himself, and vows to win her heart back. Can they overcome their demons and find a way back to each other? Beautiful story of love and redemption with a side of sexy!

"He studied me like a piece of artwork, like I was some intricate masterpieces that no one could figure out. the kind of masterpiece that is too beautiful to replicate--too unique to pass by without a thorough glance."

"This moment was like none other. All this time I'd spent with him amounted to this single moment. There was no more tension. There weren't any more doubts or suspicions. Here, in this bedroom of mine, something budded, and it was big and bright and so beautiful. It was mutual trust. A unique connection. It was true love."

There honestly is so much to love about this book that I am just going to keep this short and to the point. When I read the synopsis of this book, I just knew. I knew that I had to pick it up and read it. And let me tell you, I am so glad that I did. This book was so beautiful, so real, so refreshing. It was just the book I needed.

Doomsday Love is not your typical MMA romance. It is so much more. This book is filled with heart. It will make you swoon. It will frustrate you. It will have you falling in love and breaking your heart all at the same time. This book will take you on an amazing emotional journey. It will have you yelling at the characters and praying that they will get it right in the end. This book exceeded my expectations and I am so glad that I took a chance on it. This is my first book by this author and she has made a fan out of me. I can not wait to read more from her in the future!

Pleased as punch that I've discovered another extremely talented author. Any story Shanora Williams writes will be a one-click purchase for me. Doomsday Love is  beautiful story that begins with a tender coming-of-age attraction and goes on to develop into a fully fledged albeit, turbulent adult love affair. There is so much depth of feeling to this book, and although Jenny and Drake face many obstacles on their road to being re-united—a road that is fraught with angst, frustration and demons from the past, these hurdles they struggle to overcome are offset by so many swoon filled moments between them that I swore I heard my Kindle sigh right alongside me. This book is chock full of F-E-E-L-S. Shanora has done an exceptional job with this story, allowing the reader to gain an early insight into the very heart of Drake AKA: Doomsday, the man both feared and revered as a ruthless fighter, but who inherently has a soft and vulnerable side—a heart only made whole by having the love of his life, Jenny by his side and in his bed.
I loved Jenny too, she was a little spitfire when necessary and a balm for Drake's troubled soul when it all became too much and he was close to breaking.
An unmissable read!

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

From the start to the end you will be hooked on Jenny and Drake story. Their love comes from to different world's, but Jenny never sees it that away. Jenny never judges others and Drake is just waiting on her to do it. The two have off the charts chemistry, and be prepared for some steamy love scenes. I absolutely love how Jenny never gives up on Drake and how the secondary characters makes some of the scenes laugh out loud. You will feel a lot of emotions and see some real life issues these two have deal with on a daily basis.

Jenny is a rich kid that can have everything's she wants, but that's her. Drake come from the other side of the tracks. He is a fighter. He doesn't let people close. When these two meet in 5th grade the have a love/hate relationship. When Jenny goes off to a private school they lose contact. As years go by Jenny wants to return to public school. When she gets there Drake is no longer there. A chance meeting, these two find themselves back like old times. When life gets in the way, can these two find their way or will they go their separate ways?

This was my first book from this author, bit already purchased another book, can't wait to see if we get the twins books.

Doomsday Love has made it to my #1 spot in my all time favorite books.
Shanora you are one of my favorite authors. You have written a masterpiece. This book is a second chance love story of two people love with the everything they have.
In this book you will experience love, heartache, pain, anger and forgiveness.

Drake Davenport was friends with Jenny at a young age. As they got older, he broke her heart. Now they are lovers and best friends.

I seriously didn't want this book to end. I literally had tears at the end. I wanted more of Drake and Jenny!!!!
Drake was a tough MMA fighter who fought with everything he had. But when it came to Jenny he loved her even more. She consumed his life even when she was there. He knew she would always be the "one."

Jenny loved Drake with everything she had in her. But her love wasn't enough to keep him around. He chose one thing over her and it ruined her. She moved on but her life just wasn't the same.
Until the day she comes face to face with Drake again.
She hates him, he loves her. He won't stop until he has her back.
Beautiful second chance book!!!!

ARC PROVIDED FOR HONEST REVIEW

I really enjoyed the book and I am a little sad it ended I could have read more.

Doomsday is a fantastic read from start to finish such a great second chance love story

I loved Drake he might be a beast but he isn’t a bad man he was gentle, he really loved Jenny

I loved the characters and the story really draws you in and a swoon worthy MMA fighter.

Jenny is such a great Character I really felt for her, I was routing for her all the way along.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions for me.

This story makes you feel!!!! It isn’t your typical boy meets girl Story it is so much more.

You feel like you are right there with these characters they are so easy to connect with.

If you love a great second change at love romance book you will love this one.
Doomsday Love is a Must read.

Drake sure can easily please his woman with any request she has, “you wanna see me?” She bobbed her head. “That’s it?” She nodded again, eager this time when I grabbed the hem of it. “Alright.” Tugging the shirt over my head, I tossed it above the steering wheel and then looked down at her. “Good enough for you?” I really liked Drake and Jenny's relationship at times, she was so happy with him, "his mouth twitches as he points his gaze down at my hand. I realize my hand is near his crotch and laugh, pulling my line of sight back up to his. “I guess I can take care of that,” I giggle." I liked this book Drake was a good man well he was also a beast and every beast needs his beauty, and that beauty was Jenny. I loved this book.

Just ok

I love this author. Cannot say enough good things about her stories, but this was a miss for me. The h was a little spoiled and entitled to me. She was a user and didn’t really find her own way. I was hoping she’d use her pain and struggles to become independent, but it didn’t happen. Also her internal dialogue was very over confident for the narrative, especially towards the end. She kept saying to herself how good she was and loving and forgiving and optimistic, but I did not agree with those sentiments. I thought she was immature, entitled, bitchy, selfish, and judgmental. Just not my cup of tea.

Oh where do I begin? This book had my emotions all over the place from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down. Rich girl falls for the boy from the wrong side of the tracks but so much more to the story! And not just regarding the main characters but the back stories of other characters too. I just couldn’t put it down. It is one of my favorite books hands down. I think everyone should read this book.
