I got through this book rather quickly. It was interesting, but it didn't 'rock my boat' though. Just seemed I'd read this storyline before. I did like the characters, apart from Georgina's father and the horrible new stepmother. 3☆
Georgina (Lady Archer's Creed #2) by #USAT author Amanda Mariel
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
AHHH!! I love this series!! The ladies are so not your regular, run of the mill historical heroines and THAT makes them so fun and feisty with a side of sassy! Hello!! She grabs and kisses him people!! Ladies most certainly don’t do that!! LOL
Georgina, like the other ladies, has a story and secrets to tell us. She has loved Felton all her life but was rebuffed by him before entering boarding school. We see a brief flashback before the jump into the here and now of the story.
Georgina and the other 2 unmarried ladies are looking to gain some “coin” when she finds herself in front of her lost love. She is stunned her heart starts to beat so fast for him even though it’s been ages since they have seen each other. Felton can’t believe she is there in his arms but why is she angry at him??? He is stunned that she can’t stay out of his mind even though he is desperate to get rid of her.
The couple must deal with their past, her awful stepmother, her stern father, his families lost lands and them pushing away from each other at every turn. I loved the story and wish it had been a little bit longer so we had more of a back story of the couple. It is a great story to read for all you historical readers like me!!
This second book in the Archer's series focuses on Georgina (Georgie) who is an expert archer. Georgie has a reputation of being reckless, but she is actually a very strong, confident and fun-loving young lady. Her childhood friend, Felton Crauford, is determined to keep her safe after he meets up with her again after many years of her being away at school. They get off to a rough start as Georgie felt dismissed by him when she left for school all those years ago. She is angry and he is confused by her anger, but the attraction is still there. As things unfold and they make their way forward things get very interesting. Felton is an archer too so they have common ground.
This story was so much fun to read. It is a sweet romance that has nice drama and emotion in it. It's a novella so it is a shorter read, but it is fast-paced, very well written and very enjoyable. Can they find a way to reconnect with each other, or are they destined to go it alone? Read the story and find out. Highly recommended!
Friendship, loyalty, and honor above all. A mantra four school friends live by.
Abandoned by her father and the man she loved, then shipped off to a boarding school for ladies, Lady Georgina Seton is determined to have a life of independence. She knows the perfect way to do so – by earning prize money in archery contests; contests where more often than not she must dress as a man. When the love of her past appears she does all she can to avoid him but when she’s outed to the press she may have to rely on him to save her future.
Felton Crauford, spare to the heir, has always been determined to forge his own way and he has found the perfect way. However, he has two problems: 1) his dwindling funds and 2) he needs permission from his neighbor to mine on his land. The same neighbor whose hoyden dogged his ever step in their youth. Leaving a meeting with his neighbor he encounters said hoyden and cannot understand why she is now treating him with such disdain. As their paths continue to cross can he figure out why?
When Felton discovers Georgina’s secrets will he spill all or will he vow to protect her and will Georgina let him?
Excellently written tale by Amanda Mariel of lasting friendships and lost love. While the story was about Georgina the other three friends made frequent appearances to lend support and give background for future stories WITHOUT taking away from the main character.
*I received a copy via the author in exchange for my honest review.
Just like book one I was hooked. I love that the stories of all the girls continue and I knew Georgina's was going to pull at my heart and it did. I wasn't expecting her father and stepmother to be the way they were and it explained Georgina a lot. I loved the archery tournament in this one and the ending.
Georgina is a sweet and caring girl that comes off as spoiled at times but has her reasons. Every time she was with her father pulled at my heart and kept hoping she would get what she wanted. Once she let it all out she was a bit different in a good way.
Felton is very much like Georgina in wanting to prove something, but for different reasons. He is always there when she needs him even if it doesn't seem like it. Once he knew what he wanted he set out for it.
I had hoped to see her stepmother change but was happy with what happened in the end.
Georgina (Lady Archer's Creed #2) By Amanda Mariel Christina McKnight Rating 4 stars Heat 2 stars
Lady Georgina Seton the daughter of a Duke has been put aside so to speak-sent to a lady's finishing school. Her father is to busy with his new wife and baby to listen to her pleas to keep her home.Felton Crauford the only person who has ever been there for her and the one she's loved since for ever has deserted her.Georgie vows she will be beholden to no man ever again. Striving to be the best female archer in England will secure her future. That's what she thought till her childhood friend became her nemesis the one obstacle to hinder her future.....or is he the solution?
Felton Crauford knows that as a spare to a dukedom his prospects are slim. He needs to work for his wealth. To his good fortune his mine looks like it's on it's way to turn a profit but the biggest vein happens to be on the Dukes Lady Georgina's fathers property. Felton is not a man to grovel but wanting the rights to mine on the Dukes property he has to bite the bullet so yo speak. When the opportunity to compete in the Archery Competition arises he grabs the chance and he will not let anything stand in his way, his lively hood depends on it. What he didn't bet on was that he'd be competing against Georgina. Both have much to lose and everything to gain. Will they take the risk and win the best prize of all?
A truly entertaining story. A sassy heroine a hero to die for, that but heads at every turn! Amanda Mariel has kept to the flow of the series with her feisty heroines and the men that tame them. Can't wait to read about Adeline and Lady Josephine. Will definitely recommend!
I received a complementary copy from the author for my honest opinion.
The second book in the Lady Archer Creed series is just as much fun as the first. In this book, Lady Georgina is trying to win archery competitions in order to support herself so she does not need to marry. Her father, a Duke is too busy with his new wife and baby to pay much attention to her but the new Duchess is intent on getting her out of their lives. Georgina is a strong, independent woman who makes her own way in life. In doing this she sometimes manages to drag her friends along for the adventure. One of her friends is Fenton. They were childhhood friends but Fenton (being a boy) didn't realize that Georgina was in love with him before she was sent away to school. Now that she's back, he seems to always be in the right place at the right time when she gets into trouble. He is also trying to win the archery competition to save his coal mining business. Amanda Mariel has done a wonderful job of creating lovable characters and provides a fast paced, clean story that makes you want to see this pair have its Happily Ever After.
This is such a fun series about four young ladies that are accomplished archers. Sadly, they have to pretend to be men in order to compete. Georgina is so strong. Her father has remarried and the duchess does not care for Georgina. She sends Georgina away to school where she meets her new friends. When Georgina returns from years at school, her one true love has grown up. So has she. Although they fight their attraction for each other, cupid's arrow tries to pierce both of their hearts. I have enjoyed all of Amanda Mariel's book. I feel this is one of her best works. The story was engaging and clean with likeable characters (except the duchess). This is a wonderful series. I look forward to the next book!

My Thoughts:
This is book two of the series and like book one it is a novella length story.
Georginba is a Duke's daughter and the only one of the friends who met and bonded through their attraction to the sport of archery. They met while in school and Georgina is the only one of the young ladies who actually has money at her disposal. That is until her father cuts off her access to funds due to her stepmother.
I liked this short read and finished it quickly.
I gave it 3.75 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization.
I would liked the story to have delved deeper into Georgina's relationship with Felton. The relationship seems unfounded and why does he call her Lady Bug?
This is a sweet clean historical with no real sensuality.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title from the author to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I have voluntarily reviewed.
What an enjoyable short read. It is full of heartache, hurt, anger, friendship, loyalty and love. Lady Georgina's father, the Duke of Balfour, has remarried. Her stepmother has no love for her and wants her out of the way. Georgina is sent to Mrs. Emmeline's School of Education and Decorum for Ladies of Outstanding Quality. While there she forges three friendships for life with Lady Josephina, Miss Adeline and Lady Theodora. Seven years later, Georgina returns home to the dismay of her evil pregnant stepmother Dinah. The Duchess was doing everything possible to keep Georgina away from her father. She would create diversion just for that reason. None the less Georgina was adamant that she would do whatever it took to gain her father's affection once again. Georgina decided that she would become the best woman archer in all of England. Thus her adventures began. Georgina had the support of her three friends. But in the meantime, Georgina still pined for Felton Crauford, the young man she grew up with. But she feared her love was unrequited. Felton would appear at Georgina's manor to speak to the Duke about an offer. Felton wanted to mine for coal on the Duke's property. But the Duke was playing hardball. Felton had to find other ways to make money to continue his mining and not go bankrupt. So, Felton decided to compete in every archery tournament for the prize money. One evening, after Georgina had won a tournament, dressed as a man, she was caught in disguise by her father. Her father immediately punished Georgina by deciding she would be married to Lord Qinnly. Georgina could not believe her father would do this to her. Lord Qinnly was older than her father. That night, a guard was placed outside her bedroom. She fluffed her pillows to make it look like she was sleeping, donned her gents’ clothing and snuck out the window. She ran away to Adeline's home. Adeline took her in and kept her in secret in her room. The very next morning Felton had received very good news. The first person he wanted to share it with was Georgina. He set off for her home. He was told she was not receiving visitors. Felton became alarmed. He found out from a stable boy that Georgina had run away. Felton had to find her. He thought she may be in danger. Would Georgina ever become England's greatest female archer? Would she ever have the affection of her father back or would her stepmother win? Would Georgina be forced to marry Lord Qinnly? What of Georgina's love for Felton, would it ever be returned? Would Felton ever find her. Will Felton lose his business and his home? The adventures continue for Georgina, Josephina, Adeline, Theodora and Felton. A very quick read. It truly was entertaining and Georgina will keep you guessing what she will be up to. I highly recommend this book.
Regency romance is my absolute favorite romantic subgenre, and I really like it to focus on the couple and the romance. Unfortunately, the couple wasn’t really at the core of this story. Rather, the book feels to be more about the heroine and her desire to win a particular archery contest and secondarily about her now-adult relationships with women whom she met when they were girls together at school. The hero—and therefore, the romance—seemed to be peripheral rather than center stage. They had an interesting dynamic when they were together, but it certainly was not explored enough to feel satisfying, especially in such a short novella like this. The reasons for the heroine wanting to win this male-only archery contest—yes, she has to dress and act as a man—seem to change throughout the book, weakening the entire structure of the story for such a key element of it. Most of the hero’s storyline has little to do with the heroine, as he pursues a mineral rights partnership with the heroine’s father. If you can accept that this is more Regency chick lit with a dollop of romance, you may enjoy this story. But if you're hoping for swoon-worthy moments, character growth, and a deeply engrossing (and coherent!) plot, you may be disappointed.
I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.
Okay I will be honest I read this book when I read the Lady Archer’s Creed collection, but now I have a copy that I can read on something other than my kindle. If you read Theodora you will know that four young girls come together in a boarding school and all have the love of archery. This is the story of Georgina and Felton (whom she has loved forever) plus archery does play a major rule. I love when Josie and Georgie are competing (they have to pretend to be gentlemen) I love how it is written. This story was a romp full of humor and joy to read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is an interesting and entertaining story. Felton is a proud, determined and chivalrous man. Georgina is an independent, stubborn and bold woman. Felton and Georgina were once friends, and he had saved her from herself many times, but the one time she needed him most, he failed her, and she can't forgive him for it. After not seeing each other for several years, he saves her again, and then keeps turning up in her life. And the more frustrating that she is, the more he realizes what she means to him. It's a great story that I enjoyed reading.

Georgie is having difficulties with her stepmother and father but continues competing in archery tournaments. When Felton real she is competing he tries to protect her and in the end they find their hea together. It would have been nice if her vindictive stepmother had some sort of comeuppance for the way she alienated her father. Although for a father to have loved her so much when she was younger than pretty much that her so. Daly after he remarried doesn’t make a lot of sense either. For me these two factors pulled down my star rating …personal opinion here
This is the second book in the series and I was really looking forward to reading out. I was not disappointed. Georgina has loved Felton for 7 long years and he had no idea. Her father remarried and now ignores her and her stepmother wants her gone. How will Georgina' s love of archery lead her to true Love? I'm really looking forward to Josephine's story. I can't to see what comes for this shy girl.
I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

Sweet emotional struggle to be who she wants to be and not who she is expected to be. When society demands certain things from a Lady, Georgie sets out to be who she wants to be. In the process Felton, her childhood friend and first love saves and helps her along the way. Will he discover his feelings for her bedore it to late? I thoroughly enjoyed this short story about 4 female friends who were roommates at an exclusive all girls school. They all excelled at archery and had a club. They are starting to be married off and it is interesting. I plan to read the other books in this series.

This was a good short read. The storyline and the characters were enjoyable. Georgina and Felton have a hate/love relationship. They both know what they want in life and keep fighting the connection they feel for each other. It is fast paced and kept my interest. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
Well written with nice storyline and plot. Second in the series. Well described characters that develops nicely through the story. Great chemistry and passion. A regency romance that has drama, passion, independent heroin, alpha Hero and twists. A captivating and enjoyable read that is true to the time period.
