Alors que, sous la pression des économistes libéraux, la ministre de l’enseignement vient de geler – pour ne pas dire « enterrer » – la création d’une section qui regrouperait les économistes hétérodoxes au sein du CNU (Conseil National des Universités), ces derniers s’insurgent contre la mort annoncée du pluralisme en économie. Après le lancement de la pétition « Pour le pluralisme, maintenant ! » et parce que, de l’enseignement de l’économie dépend une partie de l’avenir de notre société, L’AFEP (Association Française d’Économie Politique) prend position contre la pensée unique et pour le maintien d’une économie critique…

Fransa'da iktisat alanında 2010'ların ortalarında alevlenen bir tartışmanın yansıması bu kitap. Merkezinde ortodoks ve heterodoks iktisat ayrımı var. Bu ayrımın Fransız akademisine dağılımı ve alan tartışması bir diğer odak noktası. Bütün bunlar akademide çoksesliliğe bağlanıyor. Fransa'daki tartışmalara yönelik yayımlanan bildiri kitabın omurgasını oluşturuyor. Ne yazık ki bilinenlerin ötesine de geçemiyor bu yüzden. Yani meseleye dair birkaç makale okumuş biri için bu kitapta aydınlatıcı pek bir şey yok. Kitapta Eyüp Özveren ve Çınla Akdere tarafından kaleme alınan 20 sayfalık önsöz bu yüzeyselliğin ortasında doyurucu bir nitelik arz ediyor. Heterodoks iktisata daha yakın bir iktisatçı olmama karşın kitabın yukarıda bahsettiğim bağlantılarını zayıf buldum. Bazı noktalarda da katılmıyorum. Türkiye'de akademik yapı ve hakemli dergide yayın süreci daha farklı olduğu için bana geçmemiş olabilir bazı noktalar, bilemiyorum. Çeviride bir sorun yok. Ağır bir metin değil. Lisans ve yüksek lisans öğrencileri için daha çok anlam ifade edebilir.

Considering the definition of a positive science, economics is a SOCIAL science that studies "rational" individuals/agents/entities/institutions that are socialized within certain human-made societal norms and mechanisms. Mathematics and statistics are tools of the economics field, however, should not be the sole purpose.

Authors' proposed ‘Economics and Society’ field in this manifesto is intended to provide a home for all those working on economic objects who identify with its pluralist aims. The idea behind this new section (area/field) is to turn the results obtained by heterodox economists to advantage by establishing dialogue not only within the non-mainstream community itself but also between them and adherents of neoclassical theory.

Among the aims to be pursued, mention should be made of the desire to encourage:

- theoretical examination of the basic categories of economics, such as value, capital, profit and markets, as well as (re)distribution, production and consumption;

- practices that enable the discipline of economics to examine itself, through the history of economic thought, the history of statistical techniques and modelling, epistemology and economic philosophy;

- and, last but not least, most importantly, collaboration between economics and the other social sciences (anthropology, law, history, sociology, political science, etc.).

Authors' ambition is to initiate major theoretical debates, along the lines of those that, in the
past, gave the discipline its richness and depth and which have now disappeared, not because they have lost any of their relevance but rather because the mainstream no longer regard them as being in its own interest.

A lire pour sa thèse, même si, comme tout manifeste, le style est lourd et parfois redondant. Un recueil de contre argument à l'approche mathématique de l'économie, aujourd'hui traitée comme une "science dure" et donc porteuse de vérité.
